Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Elegia
Chapter 46: Elegia
Sometime earlier, Shanks had contacted Louis via Den Den Mushi, asking the returning trio to head directly to the Kingdom of Music—Elegia.
Louis, having a rough idea of what Shanks was planning, changed their destination from Foosha Village to the Kingdom of Music, Elegia.
The warship, flying its pirate flag, cruised along the course Louis had planned, cutting through the wind and waves, accompanied by seagulls.
A seagull wearing a military-style cap with a small satchel slung across its belly circled the warship, cawing loudly to get their attention.
"Hm? A News Coo?" Uta looked up and saw the bird circling under the sun. She waved, signaling for the News Coo to come down so she could buy a newspaper.
Soon, the News Coo flew down to the ship's railing and, using its beak, pulled out a newspaper and handed it to Uta. Uta tucked a Beri note into its satchel and took the paper. She then sat down next to Louis and began to read.
The next moment, she let out a cry of surprise. "Louis, come look! A Celestial Dragon went missing at sea after leaving the Sabaody Archipelago! Suspected to have been killed!"
Since meeting Louis, Uta had learned about the Celestial Dragons from Beckman and the others and roughly knew that an attack on a Celestial Dragon was a major incident.
Louis raised an eyebrow. Arcordon is that lucky? He actually managed to ambush a Celestial Dragon? he thought. He then took the newspaper from Uta and examined it closely.
"They even dare to report on something like this? What's the origin of this news agency?" Yelena asked with great curiosity as she walked over to the two with a few cold drinks.
"Not sure. The mastermind behind this newspaper always remains transformed with a Zoan-type Devil Fruit ability. No one knows his identity." Louis shook his head, indicating that he also knew very little about the World Economic News Agency.
He then continued to read the contents of the paper. It stated that several hours after leaving the Sabaody Archipelago, the ship carrying the Celestial Dragon had disappeared, along with everyone on board. The World Government had already dispatched several search fleets from the Marines.
This development made Louis even more certain that this was Arcordon's handiwork.
Just then, Uta leaned her head over, curiously looking at Louis's calm expression. "Louis, aren't you happy?"
Louis rubbed her head and said with a smile, "I find it very satisfying."
"Satisfying..." Uta pondered his words.
Brrring~ Brrring~ Brrring~
Just then, the Den Den Mushi on Louis's body rang. The sound attracted the attention of Uta and Yelena, who both turned to look.
Click... Louis took out the Den Den Mushi and answered it. The next second, a voice they didn't recognize came from the device.
"Louis, did you see the newspaper?"
"I saw it," Louis replied.
"You weren't spotted when you made your move, were you?"
On a deserted island somewhere in the second half of the Grand Line, a handsome man with white hair, brown skin, and black wings on his back grinned. "Of course not. I sank that World Government ship from several thousand meters away!" In front of him, a bonfire was lit, with several large, unknown bone-in meat shanks propped up, roasting over the flames.
In the East Blue.
Yelena and Uta froze. They subconsciously glanced at the newspaper on the table, a strange expression on their faces. This is the guy? Then, they looked at Louis. They never expected that Louis was also connected to this incident.
Before Louis could respond, the voice on the phone began to complain to him. "Louis, let me tell you, I contacted King of the Beasts Pirates, but he refuses to believe my identity!"
He then explained that he had told King everything except for information about Louis and the two Lunarian settlements, but King the Conflagration still didn't believe him. He simply thought he was a fraud and kept denying that he was a Lunarian. But as Arcordon gathered more and more information about King from Shakky, he became increasingly convinced that King was undoubtedly one of his people. But the other party wasn't giving him a chance, and he was at a loss.
Arcordon was also wary of Kaido of the Beasts and couldn't go to his territory to talk to King face-to-face. For a moment, he felt the matter was extremely tricky.
Louis raised an eyebrow. He hadn't expected this to get so complicated. "In that case, while you're active in the depths of the New World, gather intelligence on the Beasts Pirates' movements. If any of their high-ranking members appear, you just need to confirm your identity with King through them."
Louis's words made Arcordon's eyes light up. "You're the one with the brains!" he praised.
Inadvertently, he glanced at the food he had propped up over the bonfire, and his face went dark. The tender meat had turned into charcoal at some point; it was completely black.
"My dinner!!" he cried out subconsciously.
Louis: "..."
Aboard the warship, Louis thought for a moment, then said with some hesitation, "Arcordon."
"Hm?" a questioning sound came from the Den Den Mushi.
"If it really doesn't work out, you should just eat it raw," Louis said, tactfully advising the other party to cook less. Louis believed that compared to the dark cuisine Arcordon produced, eating raw food was probably safer.
On the other side, Arcordon's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot, and he hung up the Den Den Mushi directly.
On the deck, Yelena and Uta looked at each other. After a long moment, Uta recalled what Shanks had once said and asked Louis, "Is he that friend of Shanks? He's come to the sea too?"
"That's right." Louis nodded, confirming it.
Uta heard this and fell into thought.
Yelena was also pensive. She remembered Louis mentioning that this person was the strongest on Baal, and two years ago was slightly weaker than Shanks. Then, Yelena also posed a question to Louis. "Louis, is he the strongest person in your tribe?"
Hearing this, Louis's mind conjured the image of a massive figure, like a small giant, and he shook his head. "Not exactly. There's another old man on the other side who doesn't talk much."
Arcordon had more potential, while the old muscle-head from the Calm Belt was currently stronger. But Louis felt that even he was some distance away from the top-tier monsters. He could fight, but the probability of losing was high.
Several days later, in the waters near the Kingdom of Elegia, East Blue.
The warship cruised with the wind, leaving a trail of white wake on the azure sea. The sound of a young girl's singing rose with the melody of the sea breeze, melodious and moving, its clear notes like spring water, carried far by the wind.
As time passed, the outline of an island gradually appeared before them.
The girl with the two-toned hair stopped singing. She leaned on the warship's railing, her eyes full of longing for that kingdom of music.
"So this is Elegia!"
