One Piece: Take the Uchiha Clan to the Grand Line

Chapter 205: Back to Konoha!

— — — — —

Konoha Village.

Uchiha Clan, Naka Shrine.

A mirror-like portal opened in the fabric of space and time.

Moments later, three figures stepped out: Uchiha Kitaro, Uchiha Shisui, and Uchiha Itachi—the three Uchiha brothers.

"Konoha... I'm back!"

After all, it was the village they had lived in for over a decade—their home. And you can't just forget your hometown, can you?

The shrine around them, coated with layers of dust, stirred up complicated emotions in all three of them.

They soon left Naka Shrine and stepped outside.

"Well, would you look at that! I was half expecting Konoha's higher-ups to bulldoze the Uchiha compound by now," Kitaro remarked as he surveyed the familiar but now dilapidated clan grounds.

The area was in shambles, untouched for over a year and a half. Signs of someone rummaging around were evident—either someone had been looking for something, or maybe it had been looted.

When the Uchiha clan vanished, they left all their wealth behind, which turned out to be an irresistible treasure trove for plenty of opportunists.

Let's face it—not everyone in Konoha is noble and virtuous. Thugs and petty criminals aren't exactly in short supply around here.

Kitaro, Shisui, and Itachi headed to Kitaro's house first.

No surprise there—it had been looted, too. The damage was worse than they expected, and the house was practically unrecognizable.

Kitaro wasn't exactly thrilled to see his home in such a state. Being a legendary figure in the shinobi world, his wealth had obviously attracted a lot of attention.

"Let's move," he said, shaking off his irritation.

As they walked down the streets of Konoha, it didn't take long for someone to recognize Kitaro.

"Wait… you… you're Uchiha Kitaro?!"

Kitaro looked at the man and immediately grinned. It turned out to be an old friend.

"Well, if it isn't Kakashi and Guy! My two favorite classmates! Long time no see!"

That's right—Hatake Kakashi and Might Guy had gone to the ninja academy with Kitaro, and all three had been placed in the same class.

The trio had been good friends back in the day, practically inseparable rivals and allies.

Of course, Kakashi and Kitaro graduated early, while Guy took a bit longer. But they kept in touch, occasionally meeting up for meals and catching up.

"Kitaro... where have you been for the past year and a half? And..."

Kakashi's sharp mind was already piecing things together. Before the Uchiha clan vanished, he'd been tasked with monitoring them, as the higher-ups had received intel suggesting the Uchiha were planning a coup.

But instead of a coup, the Uchiha had simply disappeared without a trace. For over a year, the entire shinobi world had been searching for them, yet no clues were found.

No one expected Kitaro, Shisui, and Itachi to just stroll back into Konoha like this.

"I've been... far away," Kitaro began casually. "The higher-ups in Konoha were oppressing our clan, and a lot of people in the Uchiha were fed up—some even wanted to start a coup. To prevent a disaster, I had to send everyone away."

"After all, if a coup happened, the entire village would've been caught in the crossfire."

Kakashi nodded thoughtfully. He couldn't argue with that. A coup would have dragged all of Konoha into chaos. Even he would've been forced to fight against the Uchiha, given his loyalty to the Hokage.

"So, why are you back now?" Guy asked, looking genuinely puzzled. "Even without a coup, the Uchiha clan's position in Konoha is still... well, awkward."

Kitaro shrugged, completely unbothered. "Awkward or not, we're still Konoha ninja, aren't we? Anyway, enough talk. It's been a year and a half, and I've missed you guys! Let's grab some food and catch up. You can fill me in on what's been going on in the village."

He slung his arms around Kakashi and Guy's shoulders with a grin, making them feel like no time had passed at all.

Back in the day, Kitaro often dragged the two of them out for meals. Kakashi and Guy had always clashed, but their shared friendship with Kitaro kept them hanging out together.

The trio headed to their old hangout—a yakiniku place where they used to meet up.

Over plates of grilled meat, Kitaro grilled Kakashi and Guy for updates about Konoha.

Apparently, the Uchiha Police Force had been completely taken over by the Sarutobi clan, giving them even more power in the village.

Not long after the Uchiha disappeared, both Iwagakure and Kumogakure launched attacks on Konoha, plunging the village into a war that lasted nearly a year.

Both sides suffered heavy losses, and neither gained any advantage. To avoid being attacked by Sunagakure or Kirigakure, the two villages eventually agreed to a ceasefire.

The war's main trigger? Kitaro.

It turned out the Third Tsuchikage and the Fourth Raikage were furious with him. While he was in Konoha, they didn't dare make a move. But once he disappeared, they vented their anger on the village itself.

Shisui and Itachi were stunned by this revelation.

Kitaro, however, slammed the table indignantly. "Lies! Slander! This is just them looking for an excuse to start a war and dragging my good name through the mud!"

"My reputation is spotless! I've even shown mercy to my enemies! And this is how they repay me? Outrageous!"

Kakashi and Guy exchanged a glance, then rolled their eyes. They knew better. If anyone could provoke the Third Tsuchikage and the Fourth Raikage to this extent, it was definitely Kitaro.
