One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 202: Chapter 203: The Clone Project

Jack was panicking. Really panicking.

After withstanding Kaido's heat breath, Yamato—who had dodged by instinct while Jack shielded Maria—ended up getting hit instead. Infuriated, she swung her kanabo and engaged Kaido in battle.

The fight raged on for over half a day. Only when Kaido, now thoroughly enraged, went all out did Yamato finally calm down, having been injured in the process.

Then came Miss Buckin's unexpected arrival, which made Jack realize he had been completely mistaken. Without hesitation, he transformed into a crimson Suzaku and took off.

Kaido was surprised to see Jack's transformation, but it didn't take him long to pursue. Meanwhile, Yamato, having shifted into her hybrid form, stood atop Kaido's head, launching relentless slashes and bursts of icy breath at Jack.

If it weren't for their concern about Onigashima and Wano, Kaido probably would have gone full rampage mode already, keeping his heat breath active nonstop.

Was this domestic violence?

A daughter teaming up with her father to bully her future husband?

No word but "tragic" could describe it!

Damn it, he had to fight back!

By the time Finder and his group located them, Yamato had completely lost it. She stood atop a wooden beam, furiously hammering down on Jack and Kaido—both of whom were half-submerged in the sea—while shouting:

"Where's my mom?! Where is she?!"

Kaido and Jack lay side by side, blankly enduring the onslaught.

After some quick deliberation, Finder and his crew decided it would be best to come back in a couple of days.

When they were finally rescued, three days had passed.

After a much-needed meal, Miss Buckin was brought before them.

The moment she laid eyes on the bruised and battered Kaido and Jack, she didn't hesitate to mock them:

"Well, well, if it isn't the so-called Emperor of the Sea, 'Kaido of the Beasts,' and his loyal subordinate, Jack the Drought."

"You two look absolutely pathetic. What a disgrace!"

"Shut up, you damn dwarf!"

Now that he knew Miss Buckin wasn't Yamato's mother, Jack had no intention of being polite. He grabbed a deep-fried pastry from the table and chucked it at her.

"Want some fried dough?"

"You could've just told me you weren't Yamato's mother sooner! Were you messing with me?!"

"You idiot! You stuffed my mouth shut before I could explain, then ran off on your own! And now you have the nerve to blame me?!"

Fuming, Miss Buckin stomped over on her short legs and started smacking Jack's feet with her tiny cane.

"Jack! Stand down!"

Just as Jack was about to slap her away, Kaido intervened, stopping him with a serious expression as he turned to Miss Buckin.

"Stussy, it's been a long time."

"Why do you look so displeased to see an old friend?"

"Hmph! You brat!" Miss Buckin scoffed, "Don't call me by that name!"

"Oh? What's with the hostility, Stussy?"

Kaido let out his signature laugh. "You're hurting my feelings."

"Cut the crap, Kaido!"

With a sharp clang, Miss Buckin tapped her cane against the ground several times before speaking.

"You and I both know why you dragged me here!"

"I can help you with your human cloning project, but I have a few conditions."

Clone project?

Hearing this, Jack finally connected the dots.

That guy Weevil—his uncanny resemblance to Whitebeard… Could he be Whitebeard's clone?

Given that Kaido and Whitebeard had once been shipmates, it wouldn't be surprising if Miss Buckin had gotten her hands on Whitebeard's DNA. If she had been aboard their ship, obtaining a few strands of his hair would've been trivial. Hell, if she had an intimate relationship with him, she could've had access to far more than just hair.

Before Jack could fully process this, Miss Buckin started listing her conditions. The very first one made Jack leap to his feet.

"First! I want Jack to replace Weevil as my son and protect me!"

"Like hell, I'm—"

BAM!

Before Jack could finish, Kaido smacked him across the room with his kanabo and motioned for Miss Buckin to continue.

Adjusting her sunglasses, Miss Buckin carried on without missing a beat.

"Second! Cloning research requires an enormous amount of funds, cutting-edge equipment, and highly skilled personnel. That's on you."

"Third! The cloning project must remain top secret! I made a promise to the World Government, so this can't get out!"

"Fifth! I make no guarantees on the outcome of the research!"

"Sixth! And most importantly… money! I need loads and loads of money!"

After listening to her demands, Kaido closed his eyes in thought for a moment. He then turned to Jack and shook his head before responding to Miss Buckin.

"I can agree to all your conditions—except for Jack becoming your son."

"Jack is indispensable to the Beasts Pirates. However, I will allow you to use his blood and other necessary materials for your cloning experiments, in addition to my own."

"Furthermore, I'll assign you a thousand-man squadron for protection. How's that sound?"

Miss Buckin chuckled darkly as she glanced at Jack.

"Fine. But…"

"The price just went up!"

"Ohhh?!" Kaido burst into laughter. "Then it's a deal!"

"A scientist personally praised by Captain Rocks himself—I can't wait to see what you come up with, Stussy!"

Miss Buckin adjusted her sunglasses again, her face unreadable.

"You're just like Rocks. A madman."

"Trying to accomplish what he couldn't…"

"What a crazy dream."

"But whatever. As long as you keep the money flowing, I'll get the job done."

"Gahaha! Bring out more food! Let's drink to our new partnership, Stussy!"

Gulp, gulp, gulp…

Kaido's grin never faded. The Beasts Pirates were thriving, and now, they had secured a top-tier scientist. If what Jack said about Weevil's strength was true, then if Stussy could produce clones with even seventy or eighty percent of Kaido's or Jack's power…

Overthrowing the World Government might not be so far-fetched after all.

Of course, it wasn't entirely realistic. But even just a handful of clones would be a tremendous boost in power.

Watching Kaido and Miss Buckin solidify their partnership, Jack had a bad feeling.

They were going to clone Kaido…

And him?!

Blood extraction? Fine. But… what if they needed tissue samples?

Wait a damn minute—

They weren't expecting him to, uh… contribute that, were they?!
