One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 201: Chapter 202: Yamato, I Found Your Mom

When Jack returned to the Mammoth, his expression darkened as he looked at the scorched deck—damage caused by his own flames. His brows furrowed in frustration.

"Rim! Finder!" he barked.

"This time, I'm deducting the losses from both of your shares!"

"What?! Jack-sama, that was your own fire!" Rim protested.

"Shut up! Even if it was my fire, setting aside the facts, do you mean to tell me you had no fault in this?" Jack snapped.

"If you two had put out the flames faster, would the deck have ended up like this?"

Rim shook his head, as if trying to shake off the injustice he felt. After a moment, he blinked in confusion and asked,

"Jack-sama, when did you eat another Devil Fruit?"

"And how did you do it? It's impossible for someone to eat two!"

Jack was just about to brush him off with an excuse when a sharp, almost mocking voice interrupted.

"Yeah, I'm curious about that too."

It was Miss Buckingham Stussy. She adjusted her sunglasses and circled Jack like a predator eyeing its prey.

"That should be Weevil's Devil Fruit power. How did you get your hands on it?" she questioned.

"And more importantly, what's the deal with your body? A normal person eating a second Devil Fruit has only one possible outcome—death!"

"Even if you're a master of physical combat, at most, you could resist the fruit's transformation and render it useless. But gaining a second ability? That's unheard of!"

"How exactly did you pull it off?"

Jack glanced at Miss Buckingham, who barely reached his shin, then pointed to Rummy.

"Hey! You! Get her out of my sight!" he ordered.

"Before I accidentally step on her and make her crap herself!"

"You damn brat! Let me go! Let me go!" Miss Buckingham screeched, struggling in Rummy's grip.

"You just wait! Kaido's looking for me, and I know why!" she huffed angrily.

"When the time comes, you'll take Weevil's place as my new son!"

…Wait, hold on.

She's got a point. A son-in-law is practically half a son…

Wait a damn minute!

I just killed Whitebeard's so-called son… Doesn't that mean I might trigger another war?!

Shit! I screwed up! If I'd known, I would've just taken Marco down too!

No, wait… Weevil was supposedly Whitebeard's son, which makes him Yamato's half-brother…

So, by killing him, didn't I just make myself Yamato's enemy?!

What kind of messed-up soap opera plot is this?!

I killed my brother-in-law under my future father-in-law's orders and then kidnapped my mother-in-law?!

This storyline… If it were a TV show, it'd have at least 300 episodes!

Forget it. I'll just leave this headache to Big Brother Kaidou. Yamato wouldn't turn on me over something like this… right?

Shaking off his thoughts, Jack shouted,

"Tell the cook to grill me some extra kidneys later!"

"And pick up the pace! If Whitebeard catches wind of this and sends people after us, we'll be in trouble!"

But it seemed Whitebeard hadn't received any intel. Even after the Mammoth reached the Ailen Island, there were no signs of the Whitebeard Pirates making a move. Only after replenishing supplies did Jack relax and continue his journey toward Onigashima.

Still, just to be cautious, he sent a message to King.

"Jack says he stole Whitebeard's wife? And I should be careful?"

"Yes, King-sama!"

"Jack-sama also said… Kaido-sama ordered him to kill Whitebeard's son!"

"What?! Since when?! Which son?"

"A guy named Weevil."

"…And he also said Whitebeard's wife and Kaido-sama had a thing, and she's actually Yamato-sama's mother. He warned that Whitebeard might come for revenge."

…???

King dropped into his chair in disbelief.

How come I never heard about this?! Does Kaido-sama not trust me?!

That night, King—who never smoked—burned through three entire boxes of cigars before finally calling Onigashima.

Meanwhile, Jack had no idea his 'helpful warning' had nearly sent King into a spiral of depression. As the Mammoth neared Onigashima, Jack contacted Yamato through a Den Den Mushi.

"I've got a surprise for you. Meet me at the port," he told her.

Miss Buckin was still struggling, but Jack spoke calmly.

"Miss Buckin, I know feelings can be complicated, but a child is innocent in all this."

"So, since you want me to be your son so badly, how about this—treat Yamato well, and we'll be good to you in return."

"As for Weevil… well, I'm sorry, but a halfwit like him? Dead is dead."

"Don't worry, I'll talk to Kaido and make sure he treats you better."

"Mmff! Mmmph!" Miss Buckin flailed against her restraints, muffled protests escaping from behind her gag.

Rummy wiped some sweat off her brow and turned to Jack.

"Jack-sama, shouldn't we at least untie her mouth and loosen the ropes?"

"Untie her for what? If I'm not careful, I might end up stepping on her and squashing her like a bug."

"Just leave it. We'll take her to see Yamato soon enough."

Standing on the deck, Jack spotted Yamato and Black Maria waiting excitedly at the port.

Before the ship even fully docked, he leaped onto the shore.

"Oi! You big idiot! What's this surprise you're talking about?!" Yamato called out.

Jack grinned.

"It's a person."

"Huh?" Yamato blinked.

"I told you before, didn't I? That I'd find your mother."

"…Wait, what?" Yamato's breath hitched, her eyes widening.

"You mean… it's true?!"

Tears slid down her cheeks.

Ever since she was little, Yamato had asked Kaido about her mother—where she was, who she was. But every time, Kaido's response had been the same: "She's dead."

But Yamato had never believed him.

Her strength, her resilience—it had to come from her mother.

And after training under Jack, she understood something else: an ordinary woman couldn't have survived Kaido.

So how could her mother have just 'died' so easily?

Now, hearing Jack's words, Yamato couldn't stop the surge of emotion crashing over her.

"It's the truth."

"Yamato! Go on, she's on the ship with Rummy!" Jack said.

"Though, uh… her temper's pretty bad, so I had her tied up for now—"

"Wait, where is she?"

"Jumped onto the ship the moment she saw it," Black Maria muttered, unimpressed.

Her sharp eyes turned to Jack.

"You're sure that woman is really Yamato's mother?" she asked.

"How come I never heard about this before?"

Black Maria had always been protective of Yamato, treating her like a younger sister despite only being a year older.

Jack knew she wasn't easy to fool, so he quickly reassured her.

"Don't worry. Even if she's blood-related, she'll never replace the bond you two have."

"Shut up!" Black Maria huffed, still fuming.

Before Jack could say anything else, an angry roar echoed across the port.

"Bastard! How dare you treat my mother like this?! I'll smash your stupid elephant face in!"

A metallic clang rang out as Jack caught Yamato's kanabō with his forehead.

He barely had time to register the impact before a massive shadow loomed over him.

Hovering in the sky, Kaidou's dragon form glared down.

Then, he opened his maw.

"Heat Breath."
