One Piece: Lord of Calamity

Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Target Wano Country! Calamity Roa

On the coast of the desolate island, the Beast Pirates anxiously gazed at the sky. Why aren't they back yet? Did something happen?

On the back of a large snail by the shore, "Will they be alright?" Judge, finally emerging from the laboratory, looked a bit thinner, his haggard face etched with worry. After all, their enemy was likely that legendary Marine hero!

"Don't talk nonsense!" Barrett's voice was cold and hard. "Boss won't lose to anyone!" As a soldier, he utterly trusted his superior.

"Right, right!" Barrett's resolve seemed to infect Judge. The man, whose confidence had been warped by Roa's ability, nodded repeatedly in agreement. "Boss is destined to change the world; he'll never stop here!"

Doflamingo, sitting on the snail's head, pouted. It'd be best if that bastard Roa died! If he died, I'd be free from my fear of him. But how could that bastard possibly die? Could anyone in the world truly kill him? The fear of Roa in Doflamingo's heart unconsciously elevated that person's image infinitely.

"They're back." Dylan, who had been calm all along, suddenly smiled.

Everyone looked up in unison, towards the direction Roa had left. There, in the sky, a colossal dragon snaked downwards from high above.

"Big Brother Kaido is back! Lord Roa succeeded!!" The pirates on the shore cheered excitedly.

In the sky, the pitch-black dragon, covered in soot, slowly descended. Kaido noticed the giant snails on the sea below. These huge creatures were simply too peculiar; not only were they massive, but they also carried buildings on their backs.

"What are those?" he asked.

"The country led by my newly recruited Chief Scientist, the Germa Kingdom. Heard of it, Big Brother Kaido?" Roa said nonchalantly. "It's now the main base of my company. Not bad, right?"

King looked slightly surprised. Boss is more capable than I imagined.

"Hmph," Kaido snorted. The Germa Kingdom? He seemed to have some impression of it. How long had it been since he last saw this kid, and he had already taken over an entire country? Although it didn't look like much in scale, it was a genuine country, and the resources it could mobilize were not on the same level as an ordinary pirate crew.

The black dragon slowly landed on the shore.

"Big Brother Kaido! Welcome back!" The Beast Pirates were already overjoyed. At the same time, Roa had already landed on the snail's head with King.

"Welcome back, Boss," Dylan walked over, subconsciously glancing at King beside Roa. "This is... a Lunarian?" The features were too obvious: brown skin, white hair, black wings. He had heard of them.

"Lunarian?" Judge was even more surprised. "Are there still surviving descendants?"

"This is King," Roa introduced. "I rescued him when I saved Big Brother Kaido. From now on, he's the Head of Security for our company."

"King, huh?" Dylan nodded slightly. "Welcome, King, I'm Dylan." As expected of Boss! This is a Lunarian! A legendary tribe with the name of a god!

"Hello," King managed a faint smile.

Barrett and Doflamingo were also observing him. They hadn't heard of any Lunarian tribe, but this guy with fire burning behind his head clearly wasn't ordinary.

"Alright, we can introduce each other more later," Roa took two steps forward, looking down at the shore. "Big Brother Kaido, are we having a banquet? And let's talk about what we discussed earlier."

Kaido, who had returned to his human form and was covered in burns, looked up. "With you, brat, why would we have a banquet?"

So, later, the mighty snail fleet crushed countless waves, disappearing beyond the horizon.

In the banquet hall of the Germa Kingdom's royal palace, a feast was underway.

"That's why I said, why would I have a banquet with you, brat?!" Kaido chugged a whole barrel of sake in one go, casually wiping the liquor from his mouth, then looked down askance at Roa sitting beside him. "What a buzzkill." Food and drink filled everyone's tables, but Roa was an exception. He leisurely crossed his legs, greedily breathing, completely out of place amidst the lively banquet.

"You're being too strict, Big Brother Kaido," Roa said languidly. "As long as the host and guests enjoy themselves, isn't that enough for a banquet?"

"I'm too lazy to waste words with you," Kaido, heavily bandaged from the supreme damage dealt by his good brother's magma, grabbed another barrel of sake and took a long swig. "Tell me, what exactly do you mean, brat, about Wano Country?"

"Wano Country is a good place," Roa became a little more spirited, grinning. "Big Brother Kaido, do you know much about that country?"

Kaido put down his sake barrel. "That country enforces a closed-border policy; no one knows much about them. All I know is that many years ago, an extraordinary swordsman, Ryuma, came from that country."

"Yes, that was during the period when that country was called the 'Land of Gold'," Roa nodded. "The Dragon-Slaying Samurai Ryuma defended that country from invading enemies."

"Land of Gold," Kaido's eyes brightened slightly. "Does that country have a lot of gold?"

"Probably?" Roa was also a little unsure. Since it was called the Land of Gold, there should be no shortage of gold. But was this ever shown in the manga? He couldn't remember clearly; he only remembered that Wano Country was rich in various resources, and Kaido's factories were thriving there.

"However, that country has minerals more precious than gold," Roa said.

"More precious than gold?" Kaido's interest was piqued. "What is it?"

"Seastone," Roa said. "Wano Country is the largest producer of Seastone in the world! But of course, hardly anyone on the seas knows about this right now."

"Seastone?" Kaido's voice instantly rose. "Are you serious?"

"Of course," Roa nodded. "Let's go to that country together, Big Brother Kaido. The territory will be yours, the minerals mine. We both have a bright future." It wasn't that he didn't want to take Wano Country alone; it was simply because Kozuki Oden was also a true monster, whose strength was absolutely comparable to Big Brother Kaido's.

"Are you taking me for a fool?" Kaido sneered, but his eyes were bright. "However, if what you say is true, then that country is indeed worth a visit."

"Right?"

Thus, the next target: Wano Country.

Time rewound to a little earlier, to the island where the battle had taken place. No, this was no longer an island, but a turbulent sea.

Hero Garp stood on a large wooden plank, behind him the shaken island residents. There were too many people and not enough boats, so Garp, on the spot, decided to dismantle the dilapidated buildings on the island into wooden planks, which barely prevented a further tragedy. He had already contacted Headquarters, and nearby Marine bases would soon dispatch warships. There should be no major problems.

However, this humiliating defeat still left the Marine hero with shadowed eyes. Was that brat the one Rocks spoke of, the one who inherited his will? Garp had a strong premonition. No, it wasn't even a premonition anymore! He was absolutely certain that the brat, who was only thirteen years old this year, would be the greatest enemy of the Marines and Justice!

A few days later.

"Boss!" Roa was leisurely watching King and Barrett fight when Dylan excitedly approached with a piece of paper. "Your bounty poster has been updated!"

"Oh?" Roa's interest was piqued. He took the paper from Dylan's hand. It was his bounty poster. Unlike the child-like image from six years ago, this time, it was his beast-human form.

"Handsome!" Roa couldn't help but praise himself, looking at his dashing, smiling image on the wanted poster. However, where did the Marines get his photo? Who was the divine photographer? To be able to capture his image in that battlefield, under those conditions, truly showed some skill.

Of course, that wasn't the key. The key was the text below.

"Dead or alive," he paused, a flicker of joy in his eyes. "Calamity Roa, Bounty: 1.5 Billion Belly!"

"Vice Admiral Garp is reliable after all!"
