Chapter 39: Chapter 39: One Sword Style, Chrysanthemum Slash

"What on earth happened? What was that noise?" someone asked.

"I think I just heard Arlong's voice… it sounded like him," another replied.

"Look, there's a huge hole ahead. Who made that?"

As the smoke cleared, Lynn stood tall in the open field, while Luffy was slumped on the ground nearby.

Luffy immediately sprang up and dashed toward Lynn, shouting angrily, "Lynn, you bastard! I should be the one to take down Arlong!"

Lynn nodded coolly. "Alright, I won't interfere."

Luffy glanced toward the pit. "Arlong, come out! I want to beat you up!"

Sanji, standing close by, had already spotted Arlong unconscious in the pit. He quickly warned, "Arlong's still there. Why are you yelling at that pile of rubble?"

Following Sanji's gaze, Luffy realized Arlong had already been defeated.

Now what? Wake him and fight again?

Luffy hesitated, unsure.

Lynn smirked maliciously. "Luffy, go on—he's right there. Beat him up!"

The villagers nearby, who'd overheard, were filled with hope. After eight long years of oppression, was this nightmare finally over?

"Pinch me, this isn't a dream, right?"

"Is Arlong's tyranny finally finished?"

"Ha! We're finally free—hahaha!"

"Stop celebrating! Hurry and warn the other villages!"

Nearby, Nami couldn't hold back tears of joy. She finally felt she could breathe again, though beneath her happiness was a lingering sorrow. "Bell-mère…" she whispered.

Lynn made no move to comfort her. Such wounds only healed with time.

At that moment, village chief Genzo stepped forward, gazing down at the unconscious Arlong. "Everyone, what should we do with Arlong now?"

"Village Chief, do I even need to say? Kill him!" came a chorus.

"Yes! Kill him! He's caused us so much pain over the years!"

"Nami's suffered the most. She should be the one to end it!"

Lynn stepped forward, dragging Arlong out of the pit and presenting him to the villagers.

Nami trembled as she gripped a dagger, but hesitated, unable to strike.

At last, she dropped the blade.

Sanji's eyes glowed with adoration. "Miss Nami is not only beautiful, but so kind! I love you, Miss Nami…"

Luffy patted Nami's shoulder seriously. "Nami, I agree with your choice. Don't let hatred blind you."

Nearby villagers murmured their agreement.

Lynn suddenly interrupted, "I object!"

Everyone turned to him, confused.

Lynn approached Arlong, lifted him up, and said slowly, "I know you're kindhearted. But kindness has limits. What has this guy done? Forget ideals—think about how many lives he's ruined, how many people he enslaved all these years."

He stared pointedly at the crowd. "If you forgive a man like this, you deserve everything you've suffered!"

"Nani!" people exclaimed.

Ignoring the outcry, Lynn shouted, "Debts must be paid! The hatred for my mother's murder is irreconcilable!

Nami, you're no saint, and I don't expect you to be. But if you don't kill this man, will you ever be at peace?

Be strong. As Bell-mère's daughter, you owe it to her to act. Use Arlong's life to honor her memory.

If you don't dare, I will do it for you."

Everyone's eyes fixed on Nami.

The pain of losing her mother demanded vengeance. To even talk about forgiving meant nothing before Arlong's life was ended.

Nami hesitated, then looked around at the villagers, smiled faintly—and with no hesitation, lifted the dagger and struck Arlong.

The crowd erupted in cheers. Lynn's words had strengthened their resolve.

Sanji muttered to Lynn, "You bastard, don't pollute Nami's pure heart!"

Lynn grinned. "If someone killed the chef at the Sea Restaurant, what would you do?"

Sanji blurted, "I'd kill them all!"

Lynn snorted, "Exactly. Why ask Nami to forgive Arlong? Forgiveness is God's business. Nami's job is to send him to God."

Luffy nodded in understanding.

Nami approached Lynn, glanced at him, then bowed to everyone. "Thank you."

Lynn smiled. "Nami, here's another gift for you."

He raised his hand and called out, "Everyone, step back. Stay clear of the base!"

"Space field, scan…"

Lynn had learned Trafalgar Law's technique—both shared the ability to create spatial fields.

Suddenly, a mountain of treasures appeared on the ground. These were all from Arlong's castle.

The villagers gasped at the glittering bounty. They'd never heard of Devil Fruits before—this felt like a miracle.

"What's going on? Why did so many treasures just appear here?"

"That young man must have done it! Could this be a gift for Nami?"

Luffy pouted. "What? I thought it was food!"

Sanji smacked Luffy's head. "You idiot, with all this treasure you can buy anything to eat!"

"Really?" Luffy clasped his hands, eyes shining. "Nami, can you give me some?"

Nami was lost in thought, completely dazed.

Zoro, standing nearby, noticed Lynn hadn't finished yet. "Lynn, what else are you going to do?"

Lynn smiled slyly. "You'll see soon enough."

"One Sword Style, Chrysanthemum Slash!"

Lynn swung his blade at Arlong's castle, which crumbled piece by piece under his strike, raising a massive cloud of dust.

"Ahem… what's going on now?!"

"Oh, this young man is reckless!"

"Look! Arlong's castle is reduced to ruins!"

"Hiss… Sugoi…"
