"Chappa chappa chappa! Kalifa, I saw him kiss you just now..." Fukurou said with wide eyes. "Does that mean you two have already…?"
The question was pure gossip.
Even Jabra and Kumadori leaned in with interest. They'd grown up training with Kalifa—they were understandably curious about her "romantic" situation.
Hearing Fukurou's question, Kalifa blushed for the first time in a long while, covered her face, and whispered:
"He's my man."
"EHHHHHHHH?!?!?!"
The trio's jaws dropped. They stared at Kalifa, eyes bulging, mouths agape.
The next second, Sora reappeared in front of them—dragging the beaten and bruised Spandam behind him.
"Kalifa? What are you doing here?" Spandam stammered, shocked at the sight of her.
She was supposed to be undercover in Water 7, searching for the blueprints of Pluton.
Then, he turned and roared at Jabra and the others:
"Jabra! Fukurou! Why are you just standing there?! Arrest him, now!! Are you trying to rebel?!"
The CP9 trio glanced at Kalifa.
Kalifa responded with a slight shake of her head.
Sora looked down at Spandam, then casually tossed him at Kalifa's feet.
"Kalifa," he said with a grin. "I want to know where he keeps his treasure and Devil Fruits. Ask him. Then take care of him."
Jabra, Fukurou, and Kumadori all turned to Kalifa again.
If she really obeyed Sora's orders now, it would mean she'd crossed the point of no return.
Kalifa, already prepared for this, pursed her lips and dragged the struggling Spandam into his office.
"Go pull up the bridge," Sora ordered the CP9 trio. He pointed at the one connecting the Tower of Justice to the rest of the island. "I don't want any interruptions."
He was about to "feed" Kalifa—and didn't want any distractions from the staff on the island.
"Got it!" Fukurou ran off immediately.
Since they'd already agreed to follow Kalifa's advice, he had no issue helping out.
Besides, once Spandam was dead, their only choice would be to run anyway.
Sora turned to Jabra and Kumadori and smiled.
"I'm going to be doing something with Kalifa for a bit. You want to guard the lower floor or stand watch at the door?"
"I'll help Fukurou downstairs," both Jabra and Kumadori said in unison.
They figured it was safer to stay away from Sora.
Watching them leave so tactfully, Sora chuckled and entered the office, dropping himself onto the sofa.
Kalifa had already finished interrogating Spandam and retrieved two Devil Fruits.
"These are the ones you wanted," she said.
Then—with one swift kick—she crushed Spandam's skull, and with another, booted his body out the window, watching it plummet into the deep abyss below Enies Lobby.
She walked over to Sora with the two fruits in hand.
Sora took the Bubble-Bubble Fruit—the one Kalifa had originally eaten in the canon story—and peeled it open.
It looked just like a massive cantaloupe.
"Here, Kalifa," he said with a smile. "Open up."
Using a small knife, he sliced off a piece and held it toward her.
Kalifa hesitated, then rested her head on his thigh, closed her eyes, and ate it.
"Ugh!!! It's disgusting!"
The moment it touched her tongue, Kalifa's face twisted, and she clutched her mouth.
It was absolutely horrible.
Sora looked at her expression, then glanced at the interface showing her rising loyalty level. He smirked and cut another piece.
Kalifa glanced at the melon-sized fruit in his hand, her face pale.
Still, she shut her eyes and bit into the second piece—then immediately gagged again.
But Sora wasn't done.
He cut yet another piece and held it out.
Kalifa's pretty face was ghost-white now. But when she saw Sora's expression—unyielding and firm—she stretched out her neck and forced herself to eat again.
Ten long minutes passed.
Piece by piece, Sora fed her the entire Devil Fruit.
By the end, Kalifa was drenched in sweat and collapsed at his feet, completely limp. Her face had no color—yet there was a strange beauty to her sickly look.
If she had just gulped it down in a few bites, it wouldn't have been so bad.
But Sora seemed to deliberately torture her, feeding it bit by bit, causing her to retch several times in between.

He looked at her loyalty meter—just a few points away from 100. Sora felt a pang of regret.
Ever since she'd submitted to him, Kalifa's loyalty had soared. He wanted to push it to the max and lock her in as a permanent ally.
