Chapter 160: NZNT: Chapter 160
Outside Konoha, Kisame and Pakura were locked in a fierce battle.
"Water Release: A Thousand Feeding Sharks!"
"Scorch Release: Heat Orbs!"
A giant water shark collided with several Scorch fireballs. A loud sizzling sound echoed as the water evaporated, creating a large fog.
But due to the high temperature from Ryūjin Jakka's flames, the fog quickly dissipated.
The battle was intense; their chakra natures countered each other. Kisame had more chakra and overall strength, but Pakura's Scorch Release countered Water Release, efficiently evaporating water. The high temperature further hindered Kisame, putting him at a disadvantage.
Kisame, with his vast chakra reserves, didn't mind a war of attrition; he would win in the end.
Seeing the Gedō Mazō vanish and Susanoo still standing, Pakura said coldly, "Nagato's Gedō Mazō is defeated. Are you waiting to die?"
Kisame smiled, "Life and death aren't scary. Maybe people only understand themselves before death."
Kisame was one of Akatsuki's purest members. In Kirigakure, he killed his teammates during missions, leading to his disillusionment with the world, viewing it as meaningless and ugly.
Obito introduced him to the "Infinite Tsukuyomi" plan, which Kisame believed would end the cruel world. Even when captured, Kisame, to prevent information leaks, summoned a shark to consume himself.
A ninja's body is a treasure trove of information; to prevent Obito's plan from failing, Kisame was willing to die a painful death. He was a true man who sacrificed everything for his dream.
Kisame would do his best for Akatsuki; he wouldn't retreat until ordered.
Facing Pakura, Kisame made hand seals. With his vast chakra, he liked using large-scale jutsu to overwhelm opponents. He enjoyed the ritual of performing jutsu.
"Monkey-Rabbit-Rat-Boar-Rooster"
Suddenly, Kisame felt a giant shadow beneath him, as if a giant stood behind him. Pakura looked at him strangely.
A loud bang; dust filled the air. The ground became a crater; Kisame lay unconscious, his back swollen and bloody.
From the dust emerged a giant red warrior—Itachi's Susanoo. It held the Totsuka Blade in its right hand and a strange, black-tentacled figure in its left. This was Kakuzu, his four hearts destroyed.
Itachi had only used the Totsuka Blade to strike Kisame, not kill him; Kisame was severely injured and unconscious.
"You're not known for mercy,"
Kakashi, having apparently finished his fight, said to Itachi.
Itachi said calmly, "Akatsuki members are rare strong ninjas; each is a treasure trove. It's better not to kill them; the Military Police prison needs them."
Itachi's Amaterasu almost killed Kakuzu, but a powerful sealing jutsu absorbed the flames, saving Kakuzu's life.
Seeing Itachi calmly pick up Kisame, Pakura felt a chill. Yusuke was unfathomable, and his students weren't easy to deal with.
Turning to Kakashi, Pakura asked, "Sasori? Did you defeat him?"
Kakashi sighed, "He escaped. Seeing Pain's Gedō Mazō destroyed and Itachi capture Kakuzu, he fled. He's tough, with his body and the ability to absorb chakra."
From Susanoo, Itachi surveyed Konoha; most enemies were defeated, with only a few resisting.
"I'll take Kakuzu and Kisame to the Military Police. Kakashi-senpai, finish the rest. Pakura-senpai, you shouldn't be alone in Konoha; come to Susanoo; we'll go to the Military Police."
Kakashi left to finish the battle. Pakura used Body Flicker to reach Susanoo and went with Itachi.
At the arena, Yusuke, having used the "Fire Sealing Formation," was about to finish off the incapacitated Nagato.
Suddenly, several slender white snakes emerged from the ground, attacking Nagato. It was Orochimaru, who had been missing.
With his last strength, Nagato used Shinra Tensei, shattering the snakes. A thick white python emerged, with Orochimaru inside its mouth.
"The Rinnegan will be mine!"
Orochimaru reached for the defenseless Pain, his hand blocking Pain's vision.
