Chapter 159: NZNT: Chapter 159
Just as Manda narrowly escaped the Air Bullet, several more wind pillars appeared, locking it in place, leaving it no escape.
Seeing Manda's evasiveness, Kabuto created four shadow clones, making five in total, and they all used Air Bullet simultaneously, cornering Manda.
"Damn it! I can't beat this guy. I'm leaving! Don't shortchange me on the sacrifices!"
With a puff of smoke, Manda fled back to Ryūchi Cave, leaving only its voice behind. Large, powerful summoned creatures are effective against average ninjas or in large-scale battles. But against powerful high-level opponents, they're just giant targets; only something with the Gedō Mazō's defense and regeneration can compete.
"Damn it! Cursed Seal Level 2!"
Enraged by Manda's escape, Mizuki roared, fully unleashing his cursed seal. Black markings spread across his body, turning his skin black and his eyes white. Two large, duck-like wings sprouted from his back.
Kabuto frowned, "Mizuki, Orochimaru gave you that cursed seal, right?"
Mizuki laughed maniacally, "Scared? This power terrifies you, doesn't it?"
Powerful, cold chakra emanated from Mizuki. His chakra reserves far surpassed a normal ninja's. Temari and Kankurō recoiled in alarm.
Kabuto shook his head, "In this state, you'll die within an hour. I advise you to surrender; you might live."
Mizuki's expression twisted, "Surrender? Never! You geniuses were chosen as disciples, and with your talents, you easily become strong ninjas."
"You can't understand our suffering! Orochimaru-sama gave me a chance to reach higher levels. I'll pay the price with my life!"
Mizuki lunged forward, his cursed seal-enhanced claws slashing at Kabuto. He didn't realize the cursed seal was draining his life and controlling his mind, making him extreme.
Mizuki was fast and strong; each step shattered the ground.
Kabuto, using natural energy sensing, easily dodged. Mizuki's increased speed and strength were within his capabilities.
Seeing Mizuki's stubbornness, Kabuto stopped holding back, using Toad Sage Fist to counterattack. Each blow left Mizuki bloody and bruised.
Mizuki's cursed seal healed him instantly, preventing pain, but Kabuto sensed the life force drain.
"Rather than die a painful death, let me end this,"
Kabuto sighed, seeing Mizuki's drying skin and whitening hair.
"Sage Art: Air Bullet!"
He made hand seals; a spherical air barrier appeared around him. Anything touching it was cut to pieces by the rapidly spinning wind chakra.
"Open!"
Kabuto increased his chakra input; the barrier expanded, pulverizing everything it touched, including Mizuki, whose life force had ended.
Kabuto sighed; he understood Mizuki's words. The ninja world valued talent; without it, one couldn't go far. Most ninjas were chūnin-level. Many like Mizuki—untalented but ambitious—existed, such as the defected Jirōbō and the fallen Akahoshi.
Dispersing the Air Bullet, Kabuto turned to Temari and Kankurō. Kankurō, sweating, took the scroll containing Sunagakure's powerful puppets.
A hand grasped Kankurō's wrist, stopping him. Temari knew they were no match for Kabuto.
Though Kabuto was rumored to be the weakest of Yusuke's students, Temari saw otherwise. She and Kankurō, even with the Kazekage's puppets, couldn't beat Kabuto, who had easily defeated the Hoshigakure ninjas, Mizuki, and Manda without using his full strength.
"Kabuto-senpai, we surrender!" Temari said decisively. Fighting wouldn't help Sunagakure.
Kankurō argued, but Temari convinced him.
"The Kazekage's children. Come with me. Don't cause trouble, and Konoha will treat you well."
Kabuto took Temari and Kankurō to the Research Institute, awaiting the end of the chaos to hand them over to the Military Police.
"The enemies were strong, but with Sensei here, no one stands a chance,"
Kabuto thought, seeing the ongoing battles. He had to stay at the Research Institute; it couldn't be compromised. He trusted his Sensei and comrades to defeat the enemies.
