Chapter 135: Chapter 135: March to War
Akira turned to Shisui. "Shisui, can you still use your ocular powers?"
Shisui nodded firmly. "Akira, I can still use them. After transplanting those mysterious cells, I noticed the cooldown time has shortened significantly. I'm ready to use them again now."
Hearing Shisui's answer, Akira felt slightly reassured. With Shisui's Kotoamatsukami, the odds wouldn't remain two against three on Konoha's side for long. Once his ability was unleashed, the situation would flip to three against two.
The advantage would be mine!
"That's good to hear. As long as your ocular powers are ready, I can relax a bit," Akira said with a nod.
"I won't let you down," Shisui said confidently. "I've grown much stronger than before. I'm confident I can subdue even a Tailed Beast!"
"Don't underestimate them," Akira cautioned. "Genjutsu can be broken."
"Speaking of jinchūriki," Fugaku chimed in, as if recalling something, "I once heard Minato mention that perfect jinchūriki are immune to genjutsu. Be especially careful, Akira—the Eight-Tails' jinchūriki is a perfect one."
"Understood," Akira said with a nod.
"I'll be cautious, Clan Head," Shisui added, his tone serious. "These enemies aren't the kind we usually face. I'll give it my all!"
"Good. Stay vigilant," Fugaku reminded them.
Akira wasn't worried about himself. His only concern was Shisui's youth and lack of experience, which might lead to carelessness.
"Clan Head, Shisui," Akira addressed the two. "If possible, try to capture Iwagakure's Four-Tails and Five-Tails."
"You want the Four-Tails and Five-Tails?" Fugaku asked, puzzled.
"Don't you think it was a mistake for the First Hokage to distribute the Tailed Beasts?" Akira said coldly. "Allowing other villages to possess them has only turned them into weapons against us. Leaving them in other villages only bolsters their strength!"
Shisui opened his mouth to respond but hesitated. While he held immense respect for the First Hokage, he couldn't deny that the current situation was a result of his actions.
"I see your point," Fugaku said, nodding. "It's better for Konoha to control the Tailed Beasts to prevent unnecessary wars."
"Exactly!" Akira agreed, his eyes gleaming coldly. "If capturing them proves impossible, then kill them!"
"Kill the Tailed Beasts?" Fugaku considered. "That might be for the best. At least while they're gone, Iwagakure will be forced into submission during the time it takes for them to revive."
Shisui took a deep breath, determination flickering in his eyes.
"I understand. If it comes to that, I'll do it."
"One more thing," Akira added. "If you do have to kill the Tailed Beasts, try to collect some of their chakra and bring it back."
"Tailed Beast chakra?" Shisui asked, confused. "What do you need it for,?"
"In the heat of battle, gathering some chakra as it disperses shouldn't be too difficult. The chakra is a component for refining the sublimation serum," Akira explained.
"Ah, I see now!" Shisui nodded. "I'll keep an eye out for that and start collecting as soon as possible."
Shisui was no stranger to the sublimation serum. After returning to Konoha, he had used it himself and was well aware of its potent effects, which allowed one to break past physical limits and enhance chakra reserves.
"Don't worry. We'll have the others pay attention to collecting any chakra that leaks out," Fugaku assured Akira.
Finally, Akira reminded them, "Be cautious of Ōnoki's Dust Release. Its destructive power is immense and can even pierce through Susanoo."
"Don't worry," Fugaku said with confidence. "Dust Release isn't an immediate threat. Its activation speed is relatively slow, and with proper interference, Ōnoki won't be able to use it effectively."
Fugaku spoke from experience. As a seasoned warrior who had crossed paths with Ōnoki, he knew Dust Release's limitations well. After all, even the swift Namikaze Minato had rendered Ōnoki helpless in the past.
The Third Raikage had only fallen after being surrounded and exhausted by over ten thousand Iwagakure shinobi. Despite its fearsome reputation, Dust Release wasn't unbeatable.
"On the other hand, I'm more concerned about Kumogakure," Fugaku continued. "Overall, their strength surpasses that of Iwagakure. The Third Hokage isn't as strong as he used to be. Facing the Raikage might be difficult."
"Don't worry. They're no match for me," Akira said with unwavering confidence. "This time, the advantage is ours!"
Fugaku and Shisui were both surprised by Akira's confidence. For Fugaku, who had also transplanted Hashirama's cells, claiming a guaranteed victory against Kumogakure seemed almost arrogant.
"The Mangekyō Sharingan differs from user to user," Fugaku thought, marveling. "Akira must have gained an extraordinary power when his Sharingan awakened for the second time. That would explain his confidence."
Fugaku knew Akira wasn't one to boast without reason. Unlike most of the Uchiha, who were often arrogant, Akira was humble and measured. His confidence meant he truly believed in his strength.
Shisui was equally astonished. While he didn't know much about Akira's specific abilities, he knew they were space-time related. From their few sparring sessions, Shisui was certain Akira's base strength far exceeded his own.
Two hours later, six thousand Konoha shinobi had assembled.
Under the leadership of Sarutobi Hiruzen and Uchiha Fugaku, the forces split into two groups and marched out of Konoha to confront the invading Kumogakure and Iwagakure forces.
...
Amegakure, Hidden Rain Village
Black Zetsu emerged from the ground, a sly grin on his face. "Nagato, the Raikage's forces have crushed Jiraiya's unit. Konoha has reacted, and their troops are on the move."
"What's their deployment?" Nagato asked calmly.
"Kumogakure's forces will face Uchiha Akira and Sarutobi Hiruzen. For Iwagakure, Uchiha Fugaku, Shisui, and the heads of Konoha's major clans are leading the defense," Black Zetsu replied.
Nagato chuckled faintly. "It seems Konoha has truly run out of options. Their main force is entirely reliant on the Uchiha clan. How ironic."
"Indeed," Black Zetsu agreed. "This is the weakest Konoha has ever been—a perfect time to destroy it."
Nagato nodded. "Zetsu, inform Miss Hikaru. It's time for the Akatsuki to make their move."
Moments later, Uchiha Hikaru, clad in the Akatsuki's black cloak adorned with red clouds, arrived upon White Zetsu's summons.
