"Third Hokage..."

"Let the past be the past. Prepare to make a public announcement. I owe the village and the villagers an explanation. Also, speed up the process of Tsunade taking over as Hokage. I think it's time for me to go home and rest."

The process that was originally going to take a while was immediately set in motion. The Third Hokage couldn't wait for Tsunade to take over before stepping down.

After everything that happened, he no longer had the face to continue sitting in the Hokage's office.

The more glorious the past was, the more severe the backlash, and the more embarrassing it felt now.

"Come with me."

The enemies infiltrated the village in a grand manner, aiming not only for information but also for Yamato, the Wood Release ninja.

As soon as the Daimyo's residence was struck by lightning, Tsunade and the Third Hokage had already placed Yamato in the Hokage office building.

Last night, when the Cloud Village ninjas attacked the Anbu headquarters, they didn't manage to break in. And even if they had, it would've been for nothing. Besides some information, they wouldn't have laid a finger on Yamato.

Knowing full well that the enemy was after Yamato, only a fool would have placed him in the Anbu headquarters.

Yamato obediently followed Tsunade, leaving the Hokage office building. He knew that for the time being, he would have to remain hidden until the whole situation blew over and he could return to his normal life.

Tsunade no longer wanted to listen to the Third Hokage's advice. She needed to handle the village's affairs herself.

For example, arranging matters concerning Yamato.

Were they headed to the police department?

As someone in the Anbu, Yamato had often carried out missions to monitor the Uchiha.

Could Lady Tsunade be planning to send him to the police department?

Yamato followed Tsunade in silence as she confidently headed to the police department.

"Tell Kazuki get down here"

"..."

The reception staff at the police department didn't expect the famous Tsunade to personally come to meet their squad captain.

"Lady Tsunade, you'll need to wait for a moment. Captain Kazuki was on duty last night and only returned home near dawn. I'll send someone to notify him immediately."

"No need. I'll go directly to him."

Since Kazuki wasn't in the police department but rather at home sleeping, Tsunade couldn't be bothered with any more pleasantries and left.

"???"

What's going on here?

Should they inform the head of the police department?

After thinking it over, the receptionist reported the situation to Fugaku.

"Don't worry about it. Just notify the clan members. Tsunade is heading to Uchiha territory. Pretend you didn't see her."

For the Uchiha, the closer Kazuki and Tsunade were, the more beneficial it was for the clan. Fugaku was all for it, raising both hands and feet in support of Kazuki building connections with her. Why would he oppose such an opportunity?

Not only did he support it, but he also instructed the clan members that if they saw Tsunade, they were to act as though they hadn't.

"Lady Tsunade, are we really going in?"

Seeing that they were about to enter Uchiha territory, Yamato couldn't help but feel nervous. Even though he had spent much time monitoring the Uchiha, walking into their domain was a first for him.

"Stop whining. Just follow me."

Tsunade was well aware of the tension between the Anbu and the Uchiha. She couldn't be bothered to explain anything. With Yamato in tow, she headed straight for Kazuki's house.

...

Yamato, who had been working in the Anbu ever since he left Root, never dreamed he'd one day follow Tsunade boldly into Uchiha territory, even sneaking in through someone's window without knocking first.

Was this really appropriate?

Leaving Yamato in the first-floor living room, Tsunade went straight up to the second-floor bedroom, not even bothering to knock as she opened the door.

Sitting on his bed, waiting for her, Kazuki looked at the Tsunade storming into his room with mild annoyance.

"Even though you're old enough to be my mother, Tsunade-hime, could you at least knock next time? I can hear you. Also, it's too hot, so I'm not wearing any clothes."

"What did you say?"

Old enough to be your mother?

Tsunade, known for her fierce temper, was successfully provoked by this remark.

Even though she didn't usually care about her age, Kazuki's comment really stung.

Kazuki rolled his eyes.

Tsunade gritted her teeth, glaring at him. "Hurry up and get dressed. I have something to discuss with you."

"Has Shizune arrived?" Kazuki called out toward the door.

Standing at the top of the stairs, Tsunade lifted a hand to rub her forehead. Why did she feel the urge to punch this kid?

Why does he keep bringing up Shizune? Is she your wife?

Dressed and heading downstairs, Kazuki rubbed his eyes, yawning as he grabbed a bottle of water and took a sip, completely ignoring Yamato, who stood there like a statue.

"What do you need? I've only slept for two hours."

Sitting on the sofa like a lord, legs crossed, arms resting on the couch, Tsunade looked up at him.

"Funny, I've only slept for two hours too."

Kazuki: "..."

How is that my problem? Just because you're sleep-deprived doesn't mean you can wake me up too, right?

And you brought an Anbu operative into my home.

Seeing that Kazuki wasn't interested in talking, Tsunade finally got to the point.

"You should know what happened last night."

"I do. I was even planning to send people to assist, but Anbu blocked us on the way back. They didn't want the police department getting involved. The damage seems to be pretty serious. Have they caught the culprits?"

"They have."

Tsunade's serious face suddenly turned cold.

"They're from the Cloud Village. I can't give you too many details. This man here is Yamato. He'll be staying with you for a while. Once everything is resolved, I'll take him back. Is that okay?"

Yamato, standing beside Tsunade, was about to speak but held his tongue.

After all, based on the Anbu's usual attitude toward the Uchiha, Tsunade shouldn't be revealing these secrets.

"No."

Kazuki bluntly refused, giving Tsunade no face.

"I don't like strange men staying in my house. Tsunade-hime, you'll need to find someone else."

Take in Yamato?

What a joke. If you sent Shizune over, I'd be delighted, but Yamato? No, thanks!

I, Kazuki, don't have a habit of housing men. I also don't like Anbu operatives wandering around my place.

Kazuki looked directly at Yamato.

"This is the first and, I hope, the last time. For any reason, I don't want to see you enter my house again."

It was both a warning and a threat. Yamato could sense that Kazuki wasn't joking.

This guy is threatening me in front of Lady Tsunade?

"You brat, what do you think you're doing?"

Tsunade immediately became alert, not expecting Kazuki to hold such a grudge against Yamato.
