Chapter 50: Chapter 50 Uchiha Itachi hits the heart
Boom!
Behind a Kumogakure Chunin, a Pangolin burrowed out of the ground, its claws piercing his chest as he was distracted by forming hand seals.
The others were all greatly alarmed, cold sweat dripping down their faces.
Whoosh!
Another person was impaled through the chest by a Kunai.
The others finally reacted, quickly retreating, their eyes fixed on one spot where a figure slowly emerged, carrying a corpse, with the Pangolin accompanying him.
"KawaSuke-sama," the Kumogakure Ninja exclaimed in horror, looking at the corpse in his hand.
KawaSuke-sama, who had rendered great service to Kumogakure, was now turned into a corpse by the enemy, causing everyone to lose their will to fight.
Itachi and Anko looked at the newcomer and breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as the Kumogakure Ninja's attention was focused, Satoru formed hand seals.
"Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death."
Rustle!
The remaining four were entangled by long trees growing from behind them, their limbs protruding.
This caused them all to show expressions of terror.
This Ninjutsu allowed the enemies to maintain their sanity, so they all knew they were caught in a Ninjutsu, but with Satoru's current Ninjutsu mastery, and their own significant Chakra consumption from fighting for a while, how could they break free?
"Damn it, I don't have enough Chakra for Lightning Body Flicker!" The four struggled fiercely, trying to break free with brute force.
Satoru shook his head. The purpose of Ninjutsu was self-restraint, not the enemy's. Without a method to break free, even if they were Taijutsu masters like Might Guy, they couldn't break it with brute force.
He surveyed the nearby battlefield, the environmental damage caused by Shuriken, Kunai, and Ninjutsu, and habitually replayed the events in his mind using mathematics, geography, and experience.
Then he looked at his two teammates, grinning, "Yo, not bad! You two not only took care of five enemies but also managed to hold on until now. You truly are my teammates."
After being rescued, Itachi and Anko let out a sigh of relief, slumping to the ground to rest.
Hearing Satoru's words, Anko rolled her eyes, "Stop talking nonsense. If you had come any later, we would have been finished."
Huff, huff!
She was exhausted.
Uchiha Itachi looked at Satoru, then at the four enemies who seemed to be entangled by something and couldn't move.
"Is that Konoha's traditional Ninjutsu, Tree Binding Death?"
He made a judgment in his mind.
At the same time, his evaluation of Satoru rose to another level.
He not only had his own Will of Fire, but was he already acting on it?
He recalled what Satoru had said earlier: if he had the power of the First Hokage and the Uchiha Ancestor, he could protect both the Village and his family.
Satoru having his current power must be because he was upholding the Will of Fire!
Could I do that?
Itachi shook his head inwardly.
Even the First Hokage and the Uchiha Ancestor had to negotiate with other countries. How could they have the strength to protect everything? Didn't they also die in battle?
The records passed down in Konoha, including those of the Uchiha, did not mention the two founders of Konoha dying of old age.
This indicated they died in battle.
This further solidified his conviction, and he agreed even more with what Shisui had said, believing that only the determination to abandon everything could bring peace to Konoha.
Having witnessed battle at a young age, he realised that peace was hard-won.
Satoru didn't know what he was thinking. He approached the four terrified enemies, formed hand seals to cast a Ninjutsu, then placed his right hand over his temple, the area with the densest nerves and closest to the brain.
Illusion,
Space-time tunnel,
The long-awaited Mind Reading Technique scene,
Traversing through the Ninja's entire life, experiencing it as both an observer and from a nearly first-person perspective.
After frowning, he finally found the key point.
The enemy's mission.
"Stop! What did you do to him?!" The nearby Kumogakure Ninja roared.
"Damn it, you Konoha scoundrels! Our Captain Habusa will kill you!"
"If you're a man, give us a quick death."
"You motherless bastard, just kill me!"
"Bastard, kill me!"
The other three also realised something was wrong and tried to provoke Satoru into killing them.
"Don't worry, it's your turn next."
Satoru smiled slightly and began reading the second person's mind.
Such crude provocation, did they think it could shake his iron will?
As for their so-called Captain Habusa, he had already sensed that Habusa had been killed by the enemy.
He was on his way.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
No matter how the four struggled, their memories were read one by one by Satoru. Incidentally, he also read the memories from the head of the Jonin corpse at his feet.
Anko Mitarashi, sitting on the ground nearby, watched him touch the heads of each enemy and muttered, "Does he have some weird fetish? Does he like touching people's heads?"
Itachi heard this and said, "Anko-nee-san, satoru-niisan is probably using the Mind Reading Technique to gather information about the enemy. He mentioned it when he introduced himself, Did you forget?"
Anko's heart leapt with joy when she heard Itachi call her 'sister'.
But when she heard the latter part of his words, her face flushed. Such an information error truly shouldn't have happened.
The more she thought, the redder her face became.
"How embarrassing." To expose her mistake in front of Itachi, an eight-year-old brat, was so shameful.
It's all Satoru's fault! His introduction wasn't memorable, which is why I didn't remember. Yes, that's it, it's all his fault.
Itachi watched her face change repeatedly and thought, 'This female Ninja is truly terrifying. I can't grasp her thoughts at all right now.'
He thought his application of psychology was already very good, yet he still couldn't see through his big sister's current thoughts.
Puff, puff, puff, puff!
Satoru killed the four with a Kunai.
Then he piled the other dead enemy corpses together.
He pulled out a scroll from his waist pouch, spread it open on the ground, formed hand seals, and pressed them onto a blank spot on the scroll. Runes began to emerge from the scroll, wrapping around all the corpses. The corpses slowly transformed into streams of light and were absorbed into the centre of the scroll, where the character for 'corpse' appeared in the blank space.
Satoru put the scroll back into his pouch.
"Hey, why did you collect the corpses too?" Anko asked, puzzled.
Itachi was even more puzzled when he heard this. "Anko-nee-san, corpses are an important source of Ninja intelligence. Whether it's to obtain information from the enemy's body, find ways to counter the enemy's Ninjutsu,
"Or to read enemy memories, or for other experiments, they can all be used. I remember it was mentioned in the second-year intelligence class at the academy.
"Konoha's Medical Department's Corpse Disposal Unit was established precisely for this!"
Red,
Crimson,
Steaming,
Anko Mitarashi felt that Itachi's every word made her feel ashamed.
She was a Chunin, yet she always forgot these basic facts...
"That's right, Anko, weren't you studying under Orochimaru-senpai? I heard he defected from Konoha precisely for experiments. He should have taught you various methods of corpse disposal, right?" Satoru added, smiling.
"Bastard! Orochimaru sealed my memories, that's why I forgot these important things! That's right, that's why! What are you so superior about? Who do you think you are?
"You're talking about me now! You're not even the captain..."
Crackling, as if she had found an outlet for her frustration, Anko Mitarashi didn't yell at the eight-year-old Itachi but continuously ranted at Satoru.
Her hand gestures were expressive, seemingly conveying a wealth of unspoken words.
