Naruto: I Draw Power Into Reality

Chapter 39: Chapter 39 No, You Don't Want Rest

"Konoha is finally back."

On the way back to Konoha from the border, practically no one dared attack them, so the rest of their journey was smooth and swift.

At the moment of seeing the village gates, Akaba felt genuine tears well up in his eyes.

These past few days had been like hell. Now that he was finally back in Konoha, he thought he definitely deserved a sick leave.

In terms of physical condition and taking sick leave, being part of the Sakuma clan gave him quite an advantage. Success seemed likely.

"Back in Konoha. Dismissed."

After saying this, Danzo's Multiple Shadow Clone instantly collapsed and vanished.

The remaining three exchanged glances, as if once again experiencing the joy they felt when they'd graduated. Even the most composed Sakumo let his face twitch slightly.

"I'm back. I've decided to take a break for myself."

As Akaba spoke, he got interrupted halfway by Shiso.

"No, you don't want rest. You want to update. You have to keep the manga readers entertained."

Shiso spoke with complete seriousness, not giving Akaba the slightest chance to finish his sentence.

"Come on, we need the next chapter now!"

Sakumo also hurriedly urged him to update. As someone who would become his "son" in the future, he especially wanted to know how this rotten guy, Akaba, would draw out the story.

"Come on, I just got back!"

"So what? You're using shadow clones anyway. What's the difference?"

Shiso shrugged his shoulders and waved goodbye before quickly leaving.

"Don't forget to draw."

Sakumo spoke gently, but fresh from battle, he still carried a chilling aura that made people shiver.

"Seriously, what are these people? Even my clones deserve a break!"

Akaba sighed helplessly. Saying this out loud wouldn't convince anyone because among all the shadow clones in Konoha, his were the least valued.

He hadn't gone far before he saw Tsunade standing at a street corner.

She had just run over, looking excited and nervous, but as soon as she saw Akaba, all those expressions disappeared, replaced by calmness: "Hey, haven't seen you in days. Did you just return from outside the village?"

...

Tsunade, your approach skills are really bad.

Konoha wasn't that big; everyone knew which team had returned from what mission.

Akaba silently criticized inwardly, but considering her good intentions, he didn't voice his thoughts: "Yeah, just came back from a mission."

"I really envy you guys. We've been stuck doing boring errands for three whole days."

Tsunade sighed, clearly disappointed.

People like her wanted nothing more than a big mission outside the village, yet hadn't even received a C-rank mission, let alone left the village.

"Don't mention it. Running back and forth is exhausting. If you want, why don't you ask Danzo to switch places with me?"

Akaba remained expressionless. Speaking of Danzo irritated him—everyone else starts at the bottom, so why did we jump straight to the hard stuff?

"No way. Danzo… is Danzo."

Tsunade looked conflicted, clearly having a very clear understanding of Danzo. There wasn't the slightest trace of admiration in her eyes.

Danzo wasn't a good person—not now, not ever.

Akaba didn't hate Danzo exactly, but after several days of interaction, he certainly didn't like him either.

He wore a gloomy expression as he continued walking toward home along the street. Tsunade followed beside him, seemingly without any particularly urgent mission.

The more normal everything seemed, the worse Akaba felt inside.

They're both Genin, yet the treatment difference is massive.

"Oh right, if you're free this afternoon, aren't you supposed to be drawing? It's already been four or five days. You haven't released the next chapter yet."

Tsunade walked beside him for a bit, then suddenly remembered why she came looking for him.

Oh great, here we go again—another reminder to update.

"Don't forget to save me the original cover illustration!"

Seeing Akaba continue forward, Tsunade shouted from behind.

He was mentally collapsing inside, waving helplessly as he turned the corner toward home.

No matter what, he'd still have to release a new chapter eventually. Otherwise, those desperate comic fans would storm his doorstep. Even the Sakuma clan might not guarantee his safety—let alone just one Mito Uzumaki would be more than enough to wipe them out completely.

Meanwhile, at the Hokage Tower.

"Honorable Lords, many rogue ninjas have suddenly appeared in our Land of Whirlpools. All our trade routes have suffered damage, and many ninjas are being hunted."

The caravan leader, brought directly by Danzo to Konoha, slowly relayed the true situation in the Land of Whirlpools. Inside the office sat the Third Hokage, Danzo, Koharu Utatane, and Homura Mitokado.

This was Konoha's highest leadership.

"Where are these rogue ninjas coming from? Why hasn't Uzumaki Village taken action?"

Koharu Utatane's face turned serious, showing clear confusion.

Uzumaki Village was a true ally of Konoha, and the leadership deeply understood how powerful the Uzumaki clan truly was.

This was an extremely fearsome clan. Every Uzumaki was incredibly gifted—dealing with just a few rogue ninjas should've been no issue at all.

"There are too many! Way too many! We can't even tell where they're from. And they deliberately avoid direct confrontation with Uzumaki's ninja. Though the Uzumaki clan has mobilized personnel, their efficiency is far too low."

The caravan leader replied bitterly with a smile.

If it hadn't been for his connections with the Senju and Uzumaki clans, he wouldn't have known all these secrets—which was exactly why Danzo had rushed him straight to Konoha.

Unfortunately, because he was the caravan leader, he was specifically targeted, badly injured, and unconscious for nearly half a day. Otherwise, this report wouldn't have come so late.

"So you hope we'll intervene?"

The Third Hokage exhaled a puff of smoke, finally speaking his first words.

"Yes, please help Uzumaki Village and protect the Land of Whirlpools, Lord Hokage!"

The caravan leader immediately dropped to his knees, desperately begging.

"Is this your idea, or does the Uzumaki clan—or Uzumaki Village—support this request?"

Danzo asked coldly.

"This... Of course it's the Uzumaki clan's decision!"

Mr. Kazama's forehead broke out in cold sweat, eyes darting between the four figures.

He was lying!

Danzo remained expressionless, unmoved.

The Third Hokage took several more puffs without responding. Finally, Homura spoke up: "Mr. Kazama, we expect honesty. Please answer truthfully."

"Honorable Lords, I really..."

"Hmm?"

Danzo's eyes snapped open, murderous intent surging.

"Danzo, don't treat our Konoha guests this way."

The Third Hokage quickly intervened, then smiled gently. "Mr. Kazama, I believe Uzumaki Village didn't actually ask Konoha to act. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here—we'd be receiving a representative from the Uzumaki clan instead."

"This..."

Mr. Kazama turned pale with fright, legs trembling so badly he nearly collapsed onto his knees.

"Since it's not an official request from Uzumaki Village, we can't really intervene. Sorry."

Koharu Utatane shook her head with a look of regret.

"But—"

"Kazama is welcome to stay in Konoha for a while and take a tour," said the Third Hokage apologetically. "But we can't really do anything about this matter for now."

Kazama's face darkened. He gritted his teeth and nodded before leaving the office.

The remaining four sat inside as a heavy silence hung over them.

"If it's not an official request, at most we could offer support through a mission assignment, but even that..."

Homura Mitokado started to say, then hesitated and trailed off.

Just a border pursuit, and a Jonin-level figure showed up already. Sending a rookie team would be completely absurd, yet anyone too weak wouldn't stand a chance either.

"Let's see how this plays out. If Kazama seeks help from the Senju clan, there might be a breakthrough."

The Third Hokage stood up, sighed softly, and departed.
