Naruto: All Genders are reversed except for me

Chapter 48: Chapter 48

Dressed in mourning clothes, Naruto stepped out of his house and onto the bustling streets of Konoha. Almost immediately, a familiar notification rang in his ears.

[Ding! You've received 1 point of negative emotion value from a Konoha villager!]

By the time Naruto had walked the length of the street, he was stunned to find that he had already amassed 500 points of negative emotion value.

"The power of mourning attire, huh?"

Far from angered by the villagers' cold stares and whispered criticisms, Naruto felt an odd urge to laugh.

Leaving the lively streets behind, Naruto soon found himself on a quieter path where human presence was sparse. Within fifteen minutes, he reached the gates of the Uchiha compound.

To his surprise, a striking figure was already waiting for him—a girl in twin-tails, dressed in mourning clothes, holding a basket of flowers. It was none other than Sasuke.

"Yo, you're early," Naruto said with a grin.

"Hmph, you're just late," Sasuke retorted tersely.

Despite her sharp words, Sasuke refrained from complaining further. Naruto's agreement to her request was already a significant concession as a friend.

"Follow me."

Without waiting for a response, Sasuke turned and walked toward the vast, desolate Uchiha compound. Naruto quickly caught up, the two of them dressed in matching black attire.

The pair soon disappeared into the heart of the Uchiha territory, their figures fading amidst the shadows.

Meanwhile, hidden among the dense treetops, several masked figures emerged.

"Captain, it's that kid again."

The team leader frowned as he watched Naruto and Sasuke vanish into the distance. "Follow them."

"Understood."

Though gifted with a sharp perception, Naruto was well aware of the Root operatives tailing them. Unfortunately, there was little he could do about it for now. Their target wasn't him but Sasuke.

Before long, Naruto followed Sasuke into a forested area.

"Sasuke, is this where your family's burial ground is?" Naruto asked curiously.

"Yeah."

Sasuke's expression darkened, her gaze clouded with sorrow. "Naruto, thank you for coming with me this time."

"No big deal."

Sensing Sasuke's low spirits, Naruto kept his response brief and quietly accompanied her.

The two walked down a forest path for another twenty minutes. Signs of human intervention in the environment became apparent as they entered a central clearing.

Suddenly, rows upon rows of crude stone markers and earth mounds came into view.

Naruto inhaled sharply.

In his past life, he'd known from the original story that Itachi and Obito had massacred the Uchiha clan. But the exact scale of the tragedy had remained a mystery—until now.

Seeing the countless burial mounds stretched before him, Naruto finally understood the depth of Sasuke's hatred for Itachi.

While Naruto stood in stunned silence, Sasuke calmly carried her flower basket forward. Her steps were steady, as if she had rehearsed this moment countless times in her mind. Perhaps she didn't want to show weakness in front of Naruto, so she maintained her composure.

In the left front corner of the cemetery were two prominent graves—Sasuke's parents.

Naruto followed silently, his senses on high alert as he felt the occasional gaze of the Root operatives hiding in the trees. His disdain for Konoha's higher-ups and their political machinations only deepened.

Sasuke knelt before her parents' graves, lighting white candles and placing a prepared bouquet.

"Father, Mother… Sasuke has come to honor you."

Naruto stood beside her but was more focused on the graves in the front row. With a closer look, he noticed something unusual.

"So, only about a hundred Uchiha had awakened the Sharingan before the massacre?"

Naruto committed the locations of these graves to memory before turning his attention back to Sasuke.

"Father, Mother, rest assured—I will avenge you. I'll personally end her life."

Even after three days of mental preparation, Sasuke's tears began to fall as she finished her vow.

Naruto remained calm, silently reflecting.

In the original series, the writer had gone to great lengths to portray Itachi as a tragic hero. But no matter the justification for his actions, the slaughter of innocent Uchiha civilians was an unforgivable crime.

Nearly 99% of the Uchiha clan had been ordinary civilians. The supposed coup was the plan of only a hundred or so shinobi. Did the ordinary Uchiha deserve to be collateral damage?

"Sasuke, stay strong. I'm sure you'll achieve your goals."

Naruto's encouraging words brought Sasuke back to her feet.

"Father, Mother, I'll come visit again when I have time."

Wiping her tears, Sasuke turned and followed Naruto out of the cemetery.

The entire scene was documented by the Root operatives observing from the shadows.

The weekend passed quickly. Due to their respective experiences and personalities, Naruto and Sasuke had few friends among their peers. As promised, they spent the two days together.

On Monday afternoon, after school let out, Naruto and Sasuke weren't the only ones heading to Ichiraku Ramen. Many students and parents from the ninja academy were also making their way there—drawn by Naruto's clever marketing strategy.

Over the weekend, Naruto had visited Ichiraku daily, teaching Teuchi and his daughter Ayame some cooking techniques. Both were skilled chefs, and under Naruto's guidance, their culinary skills improved significantly.

Naruto also recruited Teuchi's three apprentices to distribute flyers, even hiring part-time help to spread the word about Ichiraku's "Heavenly Ramen" and exclusive "Secret Barbecue Skewers."

With his marketing expertise from his past life, Naruto stirred up a frenzy. By Monday, Ichiraku's unique dishes had captured the attention of Konoha's youth, creating a massive buzz.

Dragging Sasuke along, Naruto rushed toward Ichiraku, only to find a long line stretching from its entrance.

Young customers who had managed to try the barbecue skewers were raving about the flavor, some calling it the best they'd ever had.

---

"Wow… this is insane," Naruto muttered, grinning as he surveyed the bustling scene.

With this momentum, he thought, the rare treasures in his system might not be out of reach after all.

"Come on, Sasuke," he urged, pulling her into the shop.

As the duo entered, the ninja academy crowd began arriving in droves.
