Mike and El sold the monster,

and from the system, Mike received the S-Rank Key for the S-Rank Portal.

Mike put the key away for now.

No… Mike wanted to get to know the player Elephant better. He added the quest

"Kill Player Elephant"

to his quest log.

He wouldn't do it.

Never.

They were currently in the city.

Mike spoke:

"You've never killed anyone before, have you?"

"No," El answered. "You?"

Mike didn't answer.

El didn't ask further.

They were on their way to a park.

Once they arrived, they sat down on a bench.

Then Mike said:

"I could take you to an S-rank portal. That way we can get to know each other better and become a team?"

El nodded.

"Okay, that way I can finally level up."

"Mike, have you ever had contact with another system user?"

Mike answered:

"No…"

"You?"

Mike wasn't quite sure if he could really trust him yet.

El said:

"Yeah. I have a friend, I messaged him to come here to the park. He's Player Fox."

A chill ran down Mike's spine.

"P-Player Fox?"

Mike pulled himself together.

"Okay, then we wait."

El said, "No, I don't think he's coming. It's been an hour already. He hasn't even read it."

…and held it up into the air. Once again, a lightning bolt struck — but this time it hit both of them.

They awoke

…once again in the ruined tower

—the very place of their last battle with General Shadow.

Suddenly —

a spear flew past Mike's head.

He froze.

"G-General Shadow…?"

Wasn't he dead?!

But there he stood —

with stronger armor,

a darker, heavier helmet.

Shadow spoke in a cold, firm voice:

"I, General Shadow… will not fail again."

Then —

he charged at Mike, leaping into the air, pulling out a black sword.

But Mike…

…grinned.

"It's time to try it out."

Dragon Sword!

He pulled it from his inventory — the legendary Dragon Blade.

Shadow was still in the air —

Sword clashed against sword!

Mike raised his blade high, and with a heavy strike, Shadow's weapon snapped — the tip of the black sword falling to the ground.

They stood face to face — tense —

And then — they both struck!

Mike parried skillfully —

Then swung from the side —

Blocked.

Shadow countered —

But Mike kicked him back.

Now! The chance!

Mike leapt — ready to slice Shadow down —

But missed.

Shadow dodged at the last second.

Then Shadow muttered:

"They don't call me 'Shadow' for nothing…"

Suddenly —

shadow soldiers emerged from the ground, rushing toward Mike!

But El shouted:

"Don't worry, Mike — I've got this!"

Light Beam!

A powerful beam of shining light cut through the army —

Then El shouted again:

"Elephant Punch!"

A gray aura surrounded his fist — heavy and dense —

He slammed it into the ground, right in the center of the horde —

The ground cracked,

and the soldiers were launched into the air —

Gone.

But Shadow didn't wait —

He kicked El in the face —

El was sent flying —

Then grabbed and punched him again, harder —

El crashed into a wall of rubble.

Mike saw it.

He clenched his fist.

His eyes changed —

from blue to icy blue.

A red aura wrapped around his blade.

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

Mike laughed madly.

He dashed forward.

Shadow blocked just in time

Then four more furious strikes came from Mike
