The more Erina refused to reveal the identity of the person she had been working with, the more curious Alice became. "You'll meet him at the friendly match," Erina replied, seeing Alice's eagerness. She decided to keep Alice in suspense, further withholding the truth.

"Friendly match?" Alice asked, her curiosity piqued.

"He's from Totsuki Academy, right?" Alice continued, thinking aloud like a detective. "If he's entering an international student-friendly exchange, he must be one of the Elite Ten, right?" Her mind raced. "Eishi Tsukasa? Is it Totsuki's first seat, Eishi Tsukasa?" she blurted, thinking she was close to the answer.

"No, he's not from Totsuki," Erina rolled her eyes, revealing her surprise at Alice's guess.

"Not from Totsuki? Then who could it be?" Alice was baffled. All the best young chefs in Japan attended Totsuki Academy. Those who weren't there either didn't plan to make cooking their main profession or simply lacked the ability to gain entry.

At that moment, Hisako Arato, who had briefly left the kitchen, returned with a list of ingredients. "Erina-sama, someone will bring the ingredients soon. Are you planning to give Alice-sama a taste of your skills?"

The relationship between Alice and Erina had been strained for quite a while, and verbal sparring was common. However, Hisako, being a loyal follower of Erina, couldn't help but express her bias. This time, Alice had directly challenged Erina's authority, and to Hisako, it sounded like a provocation. Erina-sama, use your skills to conquer this disobedient younger sister!

"A taste of my skill?" Alice's displeasure was evident. "My father's company, Nakiri International, is a world-class culinary enterprise, and in Denmark, I've tasted countless international dishes. Though I don't possess the God's Tongue, I believe my experience matches yours."

Erina shook her head. "Hisako, don't be too hard on Alice. I'm just in a good mood and want to make a dish for my sister Alice to try." While their childhood relationship had been quite poor, Erina had grown past her old temper. She wasn't bothered by Alice's words. After all, Alice's brashness would likely be something she'd regret later, and Erina could always tease her about it.

"Don't think that by trying to curry favor with me, I'll be grateful!" Alice huffed, her cheeks slightly flushed. She placed her hands on her hips, feigning disdain.

Shortly after, staff brought in the ingredients Erina had requested. "I'll make my special Erina-style fried chicken," Erina hummed, revealing the dish she had developed for her daughter, Rina. When Rina was little, she loved fried foods and cola. Erina, always feeling that outside food wasn't as clean as her own, had begun experimenting to create a healthier version. As terrible as naming dishes, like Renz, she simply called it "Erina-style fried chicken."

"Hey, you didn't just come up with that name on the spot, did you?" Alice couldn't help but complain. "Come on, at least put some effort into the name so it feels like a heartfelt dish!"

"If you don't want to eat it, then don't," Hisako Arato pouted, her tone defensive. "If you won't eat it, I will."

"Darn it, since it's a masterpiece by the God's Tongue, I'm still willing to try it, but if it doesn't turn out well, don't blame me for slandering your reputation!" Alice said, trying to appear tough, but her words quickly showed she was giving in. What she had to eat, she would eat.

In the kitchen, Erina began preparing the dish without a word. If she couldn't even impress Alice now, she would feel like she had wasted all her years of culinary research. Let me show you a parent-child dish born from our 'tag-team' effort!

Chapter 61: A Sensei's Strong Duty

"Finally, school's over," Renz yawned, carrying his single shoulder bag. He was late, but fortunately, he didn't get a demerit. Since it was his first offense, he only received a warning. However, if he were late again, he'd be sent to the academy's "prison" for three days of labor reform. Just the thought of spending three days sharing meals and living with other delinquents in prison was terrifying. He was genuinely grateful to Kirisu Sensei Mafuyu for preventing that.

As Renz mulled over this, Kirisu Mafuyu appeared right before him in the hallway near the Senseis' office. She pulled out a blank test paper from her briefcase. "Renz-kun, I reviewed your placement test, and I've got a remedial study test for you."

For a moment, Renz thought about bolting. Wait, isn't this tactic from back home? Why is it popular in Japan too?

"Oh, oh, I'll do it when I have time," Renz ultimately gave in to the Sensei's authority and took the test paper.

"Tonight, come to my apartment and finish this test," Kirisu Mafuyu's tone was firm, having seen through Renz's attempt to be "perfunctory" about it. She decided to guide him out of his academic laziness.

Renz felt a little frantic. Sensei, your sense of responsibility is too strong! Just managing me a little would be fine!

However, Renz had a change of heart. Mafuyu Sensei lived next door. If anything came up and he couldn't go home, maybe he could ask Mafuyu Sensei to look after Mashiro Shiina? He couldn't always be there to take care of her. If something unexpected happened, like missing dinner, Mashiro would be left hungry.

Thinking about it, having Mafuyu Sensei next door wasn't such a bad thing. Given her strong sense of responsibility, if Renz had an urgent matter, she'd likely help look after Mashiro Shiina. That was one less thing for Renz to worry about. For instance, this weekend, when he had to go to Totsuki Academy, lunch and breakfast would be an issue. That was where Mafuyu Sensei could help.

Realizing this, Renz understood that maintaining a good relationship with Mafuyu Sensei was essential. He couldn't afford to cause her any displeasure.

"Okay," Renz nodded, deciding to present himself as a diligent student. The joke about "young Renz's poor high school grades" needed to change. From now on, thanks to his efforts, Renz's grades would become excellent.
