My Hero Academia: Nightmare Mode

Chapter 33: The Fire

The moon hung high in the night sky, casting a pale glow over the UA campus. The dorms were quiet, with most of the students fast asleep after the chaos of the previous day. Kikidori lay in his bed, staring at the ceiling, his mind replaying the fight with Dabi and the strange, lingering warmth of Toga's hug before she disappeared.

He let out a sigh, trying to push the thoughts away. Just as he was about to drift off, he heard the faint creak of his window sliding open. His muscles tensed.

"Relax, it's just me," came Toga's playful whisper as she slipped inside, her yellow eyes gleaming in the dim light.

"Toga," Kikidori muttered, sitting up. "What are you doing here? You can't just—"

Before he could finish, Toga crossed the room and plopped onto his bed, her mischievous smile in full effect. "Miss me already?"

Kikidori sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "This isn't a good idea. If anyone finds you—"

"They won't," Toga interrupted, leaning closer. "They're all asleep, and besides..." Her voice dropped into a teasing tone. "You like having me around, don't you?"

Kikidori looked away, his jaw tightening. "That's not the point."

Toga giggled and crawled closer, her movements cat-like. "You're always so serious. Lighten up, Kiki." She placed a hand on his chest, her touch light but deliberate.

"Toga," Kikidori started, but his voice faltered as she straddled his lap, her grin widening.

"What?" she asked innocently, though her actions were anything but. "You're not scared of me, are you?"

Kikidori's eyes narrowed. "You're insane."

"And you're adorable," she shot back, leaning in until their faces were inches apart. Her voice softened, losing its playful edge. "You're the only one who doesn't treat me like I'm a monster."

There was a vulnerability in her eyes that caught Kikidori off guard. For a moment, the room felt unbearably still, the tension between them palpable.

"Toga," he said again, his voice quieter this time.

She tilted her head, her smile returning. "What?"

Before he could respond, Toga closed the gap, pressing her lips to his in a kiss that was equal parts gentle and fervent. Kikidori stiffened, his mind racing, but after a moment, he found himself kissing her back.

It was messy, it was impulsive, and it was entirely Toga.

When they finally pulled apart, Toga's cheeks were flushed, her eyes shining with a mix of excitement and something deeper. "See? That wasn't so bad."

Kikidori sighed, resting his forehead against hers. "You're going to get me killed."

Toga laughed, the sound light and carefree. "Maybe, but at least you'll have fun first."

She leaned back, her playful demeanor returning. "Now, what should we do next?"

"Toga," Kikidori said warningly, but she cut him off with a mischievous grin.

"Relax, I'll behave... for now."

She slid off his lap and curled up next to him, resting her head on his shoulder. Despite himself, Kikidori felt a small smile tug at his lips.

As the night wore on, they stayed like that, the world outside forgotten for a while.
