Chapter 653: Confrontation
Elias and Elisha exchanged a quick nod, silently preparing themselves to meet Yuan. They brushed off Valeria's warning, confident that no one would dare oppose the Silver Family.
'Who does she think she is to warn us?! She's just a filthy royal, yet she dared to intimidate us as if we're beneath her,' Elias thought bitterly as he followed Valeria into the room. The memory of her unsettling gaze lingered in his mind, fueling his irritation.
'This woman… she's giving me chills all over my body,' Elisha thought, swallowing nervously as she trailed behind her brother.
As they entered the VIP room, both Elias and Elisha froze in shock at the sight before them. They blinked, almost unable to believe what they were seeing.
Yuan sat comfortably on a luxurious sofa, an extraordinarily beautiful woman perched on his lap. To their surprise, the woman bore strikingly similar features to Yuan, almost as if they were reflections of each other. Surrounding him were several other breathtakingly beautiful women, each radiating a powerful and imposing aura that sent shivers down their spines.
The siblings' shock deepened when they realized that none of the occupants bothered to stand and greet them. Such blatant disregard for their status was something they had never encountered before. It was both baffling and infuriating.
Elias's blood boiled at the perceived disrespect. As the future head of the Silver Family—one of the Ten Great Families—he had never been treated this way. Yet, he suppressed his rage, reminding himself that his goal was to persuade Yuan to join their family.
'This insolence is an insult to the honor of our family! He must be punished for this blatant disrespect!' Elias fumed inwardly. Despite his simmering anger, he forced a friendly smile to mask his true emotions.
"Now that you're here, take a seat and explain why you've come," Valeria said coldly, motioning toward the empty sofa across from Yuan. "And don't waste our time. Our time is precious."
Elias clenched his fists briefly but maintained his composure. He walked to the indicated sofa and sat down, Elisha following suit. Both siblings kept their smiles intact, though tension simmered beneath their calm exteriors.
As Elias glanced around the room, his gaze landed on Fang Xiaoyan and Xi Meili. Their exotic beauty and unique features captivated him instantly, his heart racing in his chest. For a brief moment, he struggled to tear his eyes away, almost mesmerized by their allure.
However, he quickly refocused his attention on Yuan, the enigmatic young man before him. His thoughts turned to the incredible feats he had heard about—flying effortlessly and wielding a spear that not even two hundred Magical Knight Commanders could lift.
Elias straightened his posture and prepared to speak, determined to make his case to this mysterious figure who sat surrounded by godlike women and an aura of absolute confidence.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I'm Elias Silver, the future heir of the Silver Family—one of the Ten Great Families," Elias said with a confident smile, introducing himself to Yuan and his wives. His tone carried an air of pride as he anticipated a surprised reaction upon the mention of his family name.
He then gestured toward his sister. "And this is my younger sister, Elisha Silver."
"It's a pleasure meeting you," Elisha said shyly, her voice soft. She stole a glance at Yuan, only to find herself captivated by his calm demeanor. Her heart raced, and a blush spread across her cheeks as their eyes met.
Yuan simply nodded, offering a faint smile but saying nothing, leaving the room in an awkward silence.
Breaking the quiet, Yuan finally spoke. "I'm Yuan. And this beautiful lady on my lap is my mom, Anna Grace," he said, his tone calm yet playful as he barely contained his amusement. His eyes flickered toward the siblings, gauging their reactions.
He continued, gesturing to the women around him. "Aside from this lovely lady and the cute girl over there, everyone else here is my wife."
The room fell silent as Elias and Elisha stared, their eyes wide with shock. For a moment, they couldn't process what they had just heard.
Nearly everyone in Yuan's party was his wife? The thought was astonishing. And the stunning woman sitting on his lap was his mother? She looked impossibly young, appearing to be around Elisha's age, yet exuded a mature and captivating charm that set her apart from the others.
Noticing Elias's lingering gaze on Anna Grace, Yuan's expression hardened. He cleared his throat sharply, drawing Elias's attention back to him.
"Now that introductions are over, let's move to the serious matter," Yuan said, his voice cold and commanding. His neutral expression concealed a growing irritation, but the faint murderous glint in his eyes made the siblings tense. "I want to know the reason for your visit. After all, you even had the audacity to hurt the servants outside."
Elias inhaled deeply, forcing himself to maintain his composure. A proud grin spread across his face as he spoke. "My reason for coming here is simple. And I'm certain you'll be delighted to hear it."
"And that is?" Yuan asked, raising an eyebrow. His expression remained calm, though it was clear he already knew their intentions. Enjoy exclusive content from empire
"I'm here to give you an offer you can't refuse," Elias declared, his grin widening. "Once you accept, you and your party will have the honor of serving the Great Silver Family."
For a brief moment, silence filled the room. Then Yuan let out a chuckle, followed by uncontrollable laughter. "Pfft! Hahaha! Serve the Silver Family?! Is this some kind of joke?" Yuan asked, his voice ringing with amusement.
His wives, unable to contain themselves, joined in. The room erupted into laughter, their attempts to stifle it only making it more infectious.
Elias's grin faltered as he watched them mock his proposal, his pride taking a massive hit. Elisha shifted uncomfortably beside him, unsure of how to react to their reaction.
"Hahaha! It's been a while since I heard something this ridiculous…" Lily laughed, clutching her stomach as though Elias had just told the funniest joke she'd ever heard.
Elias and Elisha stared at Yuan and his wives in disbelief, their faces frozen in shock. They couldn't comprehend the situation. Shouldn't Yuan and his wives be ecstatic about the offer? Shouldn't they be thanking him for this "life-changing" opportunity to serve one of the Ten Great Families?
"Well, I never thought I'd see the day when a mere mortal would have the audacity to ask us to serve them," Fang Xiaoyan said coldly, her voice dripping with disdain. Her icy glare met Elias's eyes, sending a shiver down his spine.
"This is beyond absurd," she continued, her tone sharp and unwavering. "It's not just laughable—it's offensive. You insult us with your arrogance!"
As Yuan and his wives continued to mock the proposal, Elias and Elisha's feelings shifted from shame to seething anger. Their faces burned red with fury, their family pride trampled by the unrelenting ridicule.
The more Elias listened to their laughter and derision, the more his anger boiled over. His fists clenched, and his eyes glinted with a murderous light. Unable to contain himself, he slammed his fist onto the table, making the room tremble slightly.
"T-This is unacceptable… How dare you mock the goodwill of my family?!" Elias roared, his voice echoing throughout the room. He leaned forward, glaring daggers at Yuan. "Who do you think you are to refuse my offer?! Just who do you think you are?!"
"Elder Brother…" Elisha whispered weakly, her voice trembling with uncertainty. She looked at Yuan and his wives, her instincts screaming at her to tread carefully.
A strange feeling gripped her chest—an oppressive sense of foreboding. It was as though her body and soul were warning her that these people were not to be trifled with. She couldn't bring herself to speak louder, her voice barely audible over her brother's fury.
Yuan leaned back casually, his expression calm but with an undercurrent of amusement.
"Goodwill? Don't make me laugh," he said, his tone laced with scorn. "You're here to get your hands on the method to fly, aren't you? It's written all over your face."
Elias's expression twisted further in anger. "So what if I am? Are you going to hit me—the future head of the Great Silver Family? You're nothing but a coward hiding behind his women!" he spat, his voice like venom as he sought to provoke Yuan.
Yuan's calm demeanor shifted slightly, his eyes narrowing as a cold, dangerous aura began to emanate from him. Anna Grace, sensing the storm brewing, rose gracefully from his lap. A chilling smile adorned her lips as she turned to face Elias.
"Now you've done it, foolish boy," she said, her voice like ice. "I hope you're prepared to face the consequences of angering him."
Elisha's face turned deathly pale. Her heart pounded in her chest as flashes of Yuan's earlier feats replayed in her mind—the ease with which he had lifted the legendary spear, the aura of overwhelming power he exuded.
Yuan stood up from the sofa, a dangerous look on his face, and slowly moved toward Elias. With each step, the air around them grew heavier, making both Elias and Elisha feel a sense of dread.
However, they didn't sense any magical power from Yuan, nor did they think that it was his doing that made the atmosphere suffocating.
'Though the atmosphere feels heavy and suffocating… this isn't his doing. It must be our imagination. Perhaps it's due to what I've witnessed before. That must be it,' Elias thought, trying to rationalize the tension.
Unfortunately, Elias was terribly wrong. Oblivious to the danger, he wore a smug grin as he watched Yuan approach, his cold expression suggesting he would soon beat him senseless.
'There's no way he would dare hit me. After all, I'm the future head of the Great Silver Family—a true powerhouse family that rules the entire continent from the shadows,' Elias thought, confidence swelling within him. His grin widened, convinced that Yuan would soon be begging for forgiveness, with his wives kneeling before him.
But his delusion shattered in an instant. A powerful punch landed on his face, sending him flying out of the VIP room with such force that it defied all logic.
Whoosh! Elias's body sailed through the balcony of the VIP room and landed near the auction stage, drawing the attention of everyone in the vicinity.
"ELDER BROTHER!!"
Elisha's panicked scream echoed throughout the stadium as she saw her brother sprawled on the ground, blood spattering from his mouth, one side of his face swollen and turning a sickly dark color.
