Chapter 29: Chapter 29: You Still Owe Me One More Story

Inside the clothing store, Yuigahama Yui put on the apron that Su Yu had picked out.

She spun around in front of the mirror and then turned to Yukinoshita Yukino.

"Yukinoshita-san, what do you think?"

"Very cute. It suits you well."

Yukino agreed with Su Yu's choice.

Of course—

She left out one crucial thought—

That Yui, wearing an apron with that cheerful, carefree smile, looked a little… airheaded.

"Su Yu-kun, why don't you pick one for Yukinoshita-san, too?" Yui grinned, looking at him expectantly.

At her words, Yukino glanced at Su Yu.

He didn't hesitate.

Reaching for a purple apron, he handed it to Yukino.

"I think you'll like this one."

Just as Yukino was about to reject his choice—

Her eyes landed on the design.

A cat.

She liked cats.

All cats.

From domestic kittens to pandas, as long as it was feline-related, Yukino loved it.

"…Was I wrong?" Su Yu smirked, seeing her reaction.

"No. You were right." Yukino sighed, reluctantly taking the apron.

"Here, let me help." Yui cheerfully stepped forward and helped her put it on.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Yukino had to admit—

It wasn't bad.

She sneaked a quick glance at Su Yu.

Before she could say anything—

"Su Yu-kun, what do you think?" Yui asked for her.

Su Yu looked at Yukino, then said—

"If Yukinoshita-san told me right now that she wanted to make miso soup for me every morning, I don't think I could refuse."

"Su Yu-kun." Yukino gave him a warning look. "It's daytime."

"I like daydreaming in the daytime." Su Yu replied smoothly.

Yukino rolled her eyes.

Yui puffed her cheeks.

Seeing this, Su Yu walked over and gently patted her head.

Immediately, Yui's face turned red, and she lowered her head in embarrassment.

Yukino, watching this scene unfold, sighed internally.

She could tell—

Yui was too easy to please.

Or rather—

She liked Su Yu too much.

This wasn't necessarily a good thing.

In a relationship, there should be mutual respect—not one-sided indulgence.

If one person gave in too much, it would create an imbalance—and that imbalance could lead to problems.

A Friendly Bet at the Arcade

After buying their aprons, Yui led them to the arcade on the first floor.

"Let's each take three turns. Whoever loses has to buy lunch for the other two!"

She exchanged nine tokens.

Yukino nodded in agreement and turned to Su Yu.

Su Yu extended his hand.

Smiling, Yui handed him three tokens, then passed three to Yukino.

"I'll go first as an example!"

Yui confidently stood before the claw machine, inserted a token, and carefully aimed for a plushie.

Three minutes later—

She turned around, blinking innocently.

"This game… is actually really hard…"

"I'll go next." Yukino cut her off, stepping up to the machine.

Yui stepped aside and looked at Su Yu.

"If you lose, I'll cover for you." Su Yu whispered in her ear.

"Thanks, Su Yu-kun. But Mom gave me plenty of allowance, so let me treat you and Yukinoshita-san today."

"Then I'll treat you next time we go on a date." Su Yu smiled.

"Mm!" Yui beamed.

Meanwhile—

Yukino inserted her first token, testing the machine.

Then—she became serious.

Yui was surprised to see this side of her.

"She always wants to win whenever there's a competition." Su Yu casually remarked.

"So that's how she is… Now I know how to become friends with her." Yui's eyes lit up as if she had discovered something.

While they were talking—

Yukino failed her second attempt.

She took a deep breath, fully concentrating.

With her third token, she carefully maneuvered the claw and grabbed a panda plushie.

For a moment, her face lit up.

Then—

The plushie slipped just before reaching the prize chute.

It was agonizingly close.

She stared at it, unwilling to accept defeat.

Then—she turned to Su Yu.

Su Yu walked up, inserted a token, and used a weight-drop technique—

Knocking the panda plushie into the prize chute.

Yukino opened her mouth, but didn't reach for it.

She assumed Su Yu would give it to Yui.

However—

She was shocked when Su Yu immediately grabbed another panda plushie and won it on his second try.

Then, for his third and final token, he stepped aside and looked at Yui.

"Here's one more chance for you."

"…Can I really?"

Yui hesitated and looked at Yukino.

Without hesitation, Yukino nodded.

Taking a deep breath, Yui stepped up.

"This time, I won't lose!"

The moment she said that—

It was already decided.

She failed.

In the end—

Su Yu retrieved both panda plushies and handed one to Yui.

Then, he turned to Yukino.

She met his gaze, her face turning red before quickly looking away.

"Does this count as a story?" Su Yu handed her the other panda plushie.

Yukino blinked in surprise.

After a brief hesitation, she accepted it.

"Now, you still owe me one more story."

"Thanks. I'll let you see my third story soon." Su Yu smiled.

A Shopping Surprise

After leaving the arcade, Yui happily hugged her panda plushie.

She had expected Su Yu to give the second one to Yukino, so it wasn't a surprise to her.

Besides—getting an extra story in exchange was a huge win for Su Yu.

Meanwhile—

Yukino, holding her panda plushie, looked uncharacteristically cute.

Every now and then, she would glance down at it, and a small smile would appear on her face.

Seeing this—

Su Yu thought—

This was the Yukino he was familiar with.

Eventually, the three of them headed upstairs to a clothing store.

Once again—

Yui turned to Su Yu for advice.

"Su Yu-kun, what kind of clothes do you think would suit me?"

This time—

Su Yu didn't answer immediately.

Instead, he looked around.

"Su Yu-kun, what are you looking for?" Yui asked curiously.

"Swimsuits." Su Yu answered without hesitation.

Yui's face instantly turned bright red.

She glared at him before grabbing Yukino's hand and dragging her away.

As for Su Yu?

He wasn't actually looking for swimsuits.

He used the chance to pull aside a store employee—

And asked for directions to a place he had in mind.
