Chapter 24: Chapter 24: A Story That Connects Their Relationship

Yukinoshita Yukino's Thoughts

By the time Yukinoshita Yukino finished reading the manuscript, the first period had already ended.

The teacher hadn't called on her at all during class.

After all, with her grades, no one ever worried about her.

She stared at the pages of the manuscript in front of her.

Her evaluation of the story? It was complete.

From the foreshadowing in the dream, to the introduction of the black-haired girl, the revelation of witches and magical girls, the price of wishes, and the hope born from despair—

Magical girls, the Law of Cycles, the endless loops of fate.

"If this were made into an anime… it would be an incredible one."

This thought crossed Yukino's mind.

After hesitating for a moment, she pulled out her phone and sent a message.

A few minutes later—

Her phone rang.

Stepping out of the classroom to find a quiet place, she answered the call.

"小雪乃 (Little Yukino), you suddenly asking about anime production… Are you planning to go into animation now? I don't remember you ever being interested in that."

Yukinoshita Haruno's voice carried a teasing tone.

"Su Yu-kun wrote a script," Yukino replied calmly. "Originally, we planned to turn it into a game, but I feel like just making it a game would be a waste of this story. So if anime production isn't too expensive, I want to invest in making it into an anime."

"For Su Yu-kun, it probably wouldn't be expensive," Haruno said after a short pause. "From the info I could find, his parents left him a billion yen in inheritance. He hasn't touched it yet."

"I see. I'll discuss it with him. If we do decide to make an anime, I'll also invest. I really like this story."

"I'm curious about what kind of story it is, but I'm a bit busy right now. If Su Yu-kun decides to invest in an anime, I can help connect you with the right people." Haruno spoke while flipping through some papers.

"…Thanks." Yukino said softly.

"No need to be so polite. I'm just happy that my little Yukino is asking me for help~"

"The teacher's coming back. I have to go."

Without waiting for a response, Yukino hung up the phone and returned to class.

Lunch Break: At the Service Club

During lunch, Su Yu and Yuigahama Yui made their way to the Service Club.

Upon entering, they saw Yukino writing something at the desk.

Hearing the door open, she lifted her head and met Su Yu's gaze.

"…Was that your twisted sense of humor?"

"You mean the senpai's death?" Su Yu immediately understood what she was referring to.

She was talking about the scene where the mentor figure dies, a crucial turning point in the story.

The first time Su Yu read that part in his past life, he had also found it unsettling. But by the end, it became clear—it was fate, and everything had led up to it.

"I want to turn it into an anime. I'll invest one hundred million yen. You can either co-invest with me, or sell the script to me entirely." Yukino spoke seriously.

"How much does it cost to produce an anime?" Su Yu asked out of curiosity.

"Based on my research, the cost per episode ranges from ten to thirty million yen. Most shows fall within the ten to fifteen million range, while those exceeding twenty million per episode are usually top-tier productions."

"So a twelve-episode anime would cost around two hundred million yen?" Su Yu raised an eyebrow.

What surprised him wasn't that it was expensive—

It was that it was so cheap.

For just two hundred million yen, they could create a series on par with Madoka Magica?

That was insanely worth it.

In his previous world, Madoka Magica ranked among the top ten best-selling anime of all time. It had won numerous awards and was recognized as a masterpiece.

If they successfully produced this anime—

It would be at least a tenfold, maybe even a hundredfold, return on investment.

Of course, there was always the risk of failure.

So…

"I'll invest one hundred million yen, and you invest one hundred million yen. If we make a profit, I take sixty percent." Su Yu said as he sat down.

"No problem." Yukino agreed without hesitation.

She had a strong feeling that this anime would be profitable.

And judging from Su Yu's attitude, he clearly believed it too—he was just being cautious and ensuring a favorable split.

With Su Yu owning the script, he was essentially the original creator, meaning he would not only profit from his investment but also from royalties.

If the anime became a hit, merchandise sales and licensing would further increase his earnings.

Typically, anime projects were jointly funded by multiple companies, but with only the two of them investing, their profit margins would be significantly higher.

"Su Yu-kun… You two are seriously rich." Yui couldn't help but comment.

"Yui, you'll be in charge of the character designs. Our game still needs to be made." Su Yu turned to her.

"Yuigahama-san, you just need to draw characters that Su Yu-kun is satisfied with. If any revisions are needed, we'll hire professionals. The anime and game are separate projects—our game doesn't need to be outstanding. As long as it gets made, that's enough." Yukino spoke in a surprisingly gentle tone.

"Got it! I'll do my best!" Yui sighed in relief, feeling less pressure.

"For now, let's eat. We can discuss the details after lunch." Yukino said as she took out her bento.

Su Yu and Yui did the same.

Yukino glanced at their bento boxes but said nothing.

The three of them ate in comfortable silence.

Post-Lunch Planning

After lunch—

Yukino stepped aside to make some phone calls. She had over five hundred million yen in personal savings from years of accumulated New Year's money.

Meanwhile, Yui picked up the script and started reading.

As she reached the later parts, she quietly wiped away a tear and looked up at Su Yu.

Now she understood what Yukino had meant earlier.

"…Su Yu-kun, could we… change the part where the senpai dies?" Yui hesitated.

"Sorry, Yui. That's not possible." Su Yu shook his head.

"If we change that scene, the entire structure of the story would fall apart. It wouldn't be able to deliver the same emotional impact." Yukino returned just in time to hear the conversation and firmly backed Su Yu up.

"…Alright." Yui understood, even if she still felt sad about it.

"I'll make my next story a happy one. No more suffering." Su Yu said gently.

"A light novel?" Yui's eyes lit up with anticipation.

Yukino also looked at him, curious.

"A light novel would take more time." Su Yu shook his head.

Now that he knew anime investment was an option, and that he had ten billion yen sitting around, he didn't really need to write a light novel anymore.

Instead—

He could bring his favorite anime, manga, and novels to life.

If he could make a profit, he might even buy or start his own animation studio.

And if that happened—

His future… would be unstoppable.
