Chapter 122: A Tense and Exciting Term_3
As for Deloris, who was sitting next to her, she wasn't as quick. This young lady leisurely read through the questions and only filled in the answers after a while. Although her accuracy was fairly good, her speed couldn't compare to Tilan's by a long shot.
Studying truly is an impartial affair. Even students from wealthy backgrounds can't pay for instantly improved grades, nor easily surpass their hardworking peers in a short period of time. While teachers are a key factor in academic performance, in this era of advanced online remote education, there isn't much of a gap in theoretical education between the introductory and middle ranks for ordinary people and the wealthy.
The only significant differences may be in areas requiring resource investments, such as the supply of Supernatural Spiritual Medicine, Supportive Elixirs, and Transcendent food.
However, among their top-tier peers, the greatest factors influencing advancement are still Talent and that bit of luck. As long as one has exceptional Talent, even those from humble origins will find Academies or corporations willing to sponsor them, not lacking in resources. But whether they succeed in the end still depends on personal encounters, performance, as well as mindset and luck.
After gradually catching up with the coursework, Tilan finally started to take over the student council matters.

"We don't have much time, Tilan," said Amors, standing before the lofty floor-to-ceiling glass wall and looking down at the familiar Academy. He spoke to the young girl behind him.
"I will be leaving in two months. During this period, you will become the vice president of the student council, gradually taking over my affairs and some of my authority. It shouldn't be this hurried, but my previous experiences disrupted many of my plans. I hope you don't mind and get accustomed to it quickly."
"I will, President," said the young girl, pressing her hands on the tablet in front of her and nodding in salute.
"Very good, you seem even more decisive and mature than before. It seems the experience did you a lot of good," he turned around, smiling as he spoke.
"Let's start with some easy work. A renowned fashion brand from the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain, 'Gothic Doll,' has approached us wanting to collaborate on launching a new line of products. That is, they want to design several outfits that incorporate our Academy's style and co-brand the new clothing line to expand their influence in the young market."
"This will probably involve designing outfits, selecting fabrics, trying them on, photography, and appearing on screen. In fact, since they approached us, our Academy's say in the collaboration is quite significant, which makes some decisions easy. I really trust in Tilan's aesthetic sense, and you would be ideal for the job."
Of course, there was more he had left unsaid, which was probably that he hoped Tilan would model for the fashion line, appear on the front page of magazine weeklies, and then have the Academy promote it all, leveraging the girl's exquisite appearance and temperament to attract popularity.
However, such matters could not be forced; after all, Tilan would be the next student council president. In Amors's mind, she was roughly his equal; after graduation, she would likely be someone with who he stayed in regular contact, able to help each other for life.
"I understand," the young girl nodded after listening to Amors's description.
"Let's leave it there for today. I'll send you the 'Gothic Doll's information later. It'll include their design styles over the recent years, their market positioning, and the terms and pricing we've offered in collaborations with various corporations. You can draft the specific agreement based on previous templates and just give it to me for a quick review."
"Tomorrow afternoon, their design team will come to the Academy, about 6-7 people. Tilan, you can arrange it in advance, decide whom you need from the student council to assist you, and let me know at any time."
"So soon, they're coming tomorrow?" the girl expressed her surprise.
"Yes, time must be made good use of, my successor." Amors lifted his coffee, showing an encouraging smile, but no matter how you looked at it, it seemed like a sly fox teasing a naive rabbit.
It looked like this semester wouldn't be boring, with probably many matters waiting for her; the girl thought silently.
But then again, she was prepared to face these challenges. It was time to gradually make herself stronger.
