max in Pokemon

The next day the group got a call from the Pokemon center near the bridge and they said that the riolu was back to full health and they wanted them to see him.

They of course agreed and got moving.

When they got to the Pokemon center they were led to where the riolu was being monitored.

He was just laying on a bed and just staring at the ceiling max guessed that he was lost in thought.

When he noticed them his blank look turned to cold indifference and turned his body to not look at them.

Skyla didn't get it but max did he saw this exact reaction in tv shows were humans or some other species hate each other.

Skyla wanted to help the riolu but max stopped her and turn to meloetta.

Max: you don't have to but. can you try to talk to him?

Meloatta looked at the riolu a little unsure.

Meloatta: I can only promise to try.

Max just nodded and exited the room along with Skyla.

Meloatta floated by the riolu and sat by the edge of the bed to get in his poin of view.

He didn't turned away but he looked like he didn't care about anything.

Riolu: go away.

Meloatta wasn't unsure how to answer to that.

Riolu glanced at her and let out a sigh.

Riolu: look I appreciate that you helped me but I don't want to be around humans I've had enough of being someone's slave.

Meloatta: were you mistreated?

Riolu: more like they stole me away from my tribe.

Meloatta: you had a family?

Riolu: yeah and I loved them too.

Meloatta: happened?

Riolu was quiet but he saw the her gentle eyes and worried expression.

Riolu: some humans wearing black and have a p with a sheild they called themselves team plasma they captured members of my tribe I was among them and they used some wierd device to control us and other Pokemon.

He thought back to the blurry images of when he was brainwashed and he remembered seeing that white Pokemon that freed him and others.

Riolu: me and other Pokemon were saved by a white dragon looking Pokemon I took advantage of that and ran away from there I was doing my best to survive by myself.

Meloatta: I'm sorry to hear that. That white dragon wouldn't be reshiram?

Riolu: never heard of him but if that's its name I'll have to thank him.

Meloatta was thinking about what riolu said this team plasma is trying to control Pokemon and she remembered max's rant about how Pokemon battles are hypocritical and she guessed that this was one example.

Riolu stood up and sat on the bed he then looked at Meloatta with curiosity.

Riolu: I was still out of it but I remember that black haired human help me with my condition is he your master?

Meloatta: no him and I are kinda like partners just that I'm not in a Pokeball.

Riolu snorted at that with a bit of jealousy.

Riolu: I'm not gonna be in one of those things again thanks to those balls I have an issue with close spaces.

Meloatta: I don't plan on being in one either I wouldn't know what what's going on inside there.

Riolu: why do you stay with him?

Meloatta: max?

Riolu: yeah him honestly ever since I was captured I grew a massive amount of hatred for human and when I saw him giving me that berry I was actually expecting him to put me out of my misery but instead he helped me.

Meloatta: not all humans are bad just like with Pokemon we are flawed no one is perfect not you and not me.

Riolu: I know that some Pokemon tried to attack the tribe but our lucarios defended us from them I wanted to be strong like my dad he was among the best but during the attack of those plasma guys we were out numbered and my dad was killed in the line of duty.

Meloatta: he sounded like a good lucario.

Riolu: he was but now. Now I don't know what to do.

Meloatta: what exactly happened to you? You were covered in stab wounds.

Riolu turned away not liking to remember what happened that day.

Riolu: during my days alone I've encountered some trainers who tried to catch me and some Pokemon that tried to eat me but I encountered 2 bee drills that basically bullied me they stole my food and other things and they laughed at me because we riolu and lucarios are considered among the strongest Pokemon but they called me a failure and one I had enough and i managed to put up a fight but I was over powered.

He looked at the scars in his arm were he was stabbed he can still feel a phantom pain.

Riolu: after they poisoned me they left me behind because they thought that I would die but I guess fate had other plans for me.

Meloatta decided to show some support at her fellow Pokemon and hugged him.

Meloatta: you've through a lot I'm so sorry for what happened to you.

Riolu was blushing like mad he wasn't used to unfamiliar female contact aside his mom.

Riolu: can you please get off me!

Meloatta backed off she was probably to forward.

Meloatta: sorry Ii guess I was too emotional.

Riolu: no you are fine I'm just not used to other female that aren't my mom.

They went silent again but this time riolu was curious about the human that Meloatta is familiar with.

Riolu: so that human max was it? Why are you with him?

Meloatta: well that is a long story but I'm being hunted by this organization that is sorta similar to plasma but they want to use me and an object to control 3 legendary Pokemon to rule the world. Gees now I know how cheesy that sounds.

Riolu: so what exactly is max doing?

Meloatta: well he's is protecting me you see I was almost caught by team rocket and max saved me and he can actually understand us.

Riolu did a double take he knew that humans can't understand Pokemon but hearing that someone can actually understand them is almost unheard of.

Riolu: are you serious?

Meloatta: yup I've been stuck with him for a while a he's. Pretty interesting to say the least?

Riolu: how come?

Meloatta: well unlike normal humans max is actually strong enough to fight against Pokemon I saw it myself when he fought against Skyla's Pokemon that's the girl with red hair.

Riolu didn't believe what she was saying but he did felt that max's aura was more powerful then a normal human's aura so maybe she isn't lying but he will have to see it himself.

Riolu: I'm not sure if I believe you.

Meloatta: that's understandable I mean humans are not exactly well strong in the physical sense.

Meloatta looked at riolu with a bit of worry.

Meloatta: so. What are you planning to do after leaving the center?

Riolu just looked down at the floor with defeat.

Riolu: I don't know I know if my mom is okay and I don't even know where to start looking. And the worst part is that I have no home to go to I have nothing left.

Meloatta frown at seeing his defeated face and she didn't want to leave him alone in the woods if he almost died to two bee drills and who knows what else.

She decided to take a gamble.

Meloatta: you can come with me and max. It's not not bad and you will have some company.

Riolu looked at Meloatta for a second but he looked and shook his head.

Riolu: sorry but no. I. I don't want to be someone's slave again my freedom was taken away from me once and I'm not losing it again.

Meloatta: oh. Right I actually forgot to mention that max isn't a trainer.

Riolu had a skeptical look on his face.

Riolu: he isn't?

Meloatta: nope he isn't and trust me I mentioned him being a trainer and he just shuts it down.

Meloatta saw how riolu still didn't look convinced so she decided to give a little push.

Meloatta: look I'm not forcing you to choose your own path if you want can stay in the woods but you and I both know you probably won't last long and I don't want you to get yourself killed.

She floated up and went for the door but she turned over and gave him a smile.

Meloatta: if we meet again I'll be happy to see you again.

Riolu thought back to his past he lost his family, his tribe, his free will,and he lost the will to live. But meloetta is giving him another chance to get his life back together in a different way she was the only friendly Pokemon who didn't try to harm him and she is speaking so well about max.

He was skeptical but a part of him didn't want to lose this opportunity to get some sense of normalcy.

Riolu: wait!!

Meloatta stopped and looked back riolu who still had an unsure look but he also looked like he was thinking really hard.

Riolu: I'll go but if this max does anything I'm leaving!

Meloatta smiled at him glad that he made the right decision.

Meloatta: trust me you won't regret it. Come on.

She turned invisible and she grabbed his arm dragging him to were max is.

This is riolu's first step of becoming part of a team and finding his way through the world.
