"Professor Snape, we already booked the entire Quidditch pitch in advance, and it's because Malfoy called Hermione a Mudblood that Ron attacked Malfoy!"

Facing the formidable Snape, Wood and the others, though angry, dared not retort. But Harry was unwilling to let it go.

Snape's gaze grew even sterner at this.

"You dare to lie?"

"Malfoy, did you call Hermione a Mudblood?"

At this, George suddenly spoke up, asking Malfoy first.

Malfoy, sensing Snape's presence, felt Wood and the others wouldn't dare act rashly. He puffed out his chest proudly:

"She is a Mudblood. Hogwarts shouldn't even accept Mudbloods as students."

"Who Hogwarts accepts as students is not for you to decide!"

Hearing Malfoy's statement, Snape immediately turned and severely reprimanded him.

His most beloved witch, Harry's mother, Lily Evans, was also Muggle-born.

George, seeing his objective achieved, subtly retreated.

Malfoy was clearly intimidated by Snape, who was usually more lenient with him, and quickly shut his mouth.

Snape looked at Harry again:

Snape had mentioned during the tutoring session that if one encountered Dark Arts curses for which they didn't know the counter-curse, they could first try the General Counter-Spell. He tried it now, and to his surprise, it actually worked.

"Thank you, George."

Ron, back to normal, immediately expressed his gratitude.

Harry and Hermione also nodded at George. They knew that if George hadn't said that extra bit, enticing Malfoy to reveal the truth, Gryffindor would have lost fifteen more points.

George subtly winked, then retreated back to Snape's side.

"I wanted to try the General Counter-Spell I just learned."

Snape said coolly:

"George helped a fellow student. Five points to Slytherin."

The Slytherin team members, whose heads had just drooped, raised them again.

"Alright, that's enough about this. Next, the Slytherin team will train two new players. You may leave."

Hearing Snape's dismissal, Wood immediately led everyone out of the Quidditch pitch.

However, after leaving the pitch, Harry, Ron, and Hermione quietly returned, hiding in the stands and peeking towards the pitch.

They weren't trying to spy on the Slytherin team's strategies; they simply wanted to know who would be the new Seeker, George or Malfoy.

They had learned from Ginny yesterday that George was joining the Slytherin team.

At that time, they thought George would definitely be Slytherin's Seeker, just like Harry last year. But today, they found out that Malfoy had already become the new Seeker because his father had bought the entire team the latest Nimbus 2001s.

So they worried that George's entry into the team might not be smooth.

"You should all know about George by now. He can perform high-difficulty maneuvers on a school broomstick that even international Quidditch players struggle with.

Therefore, I have decided that he will be the team's new Seeker."

After Wood and the others left, Snape began to announce George's position on the team.

Malfoy's face immediately changed at this.

"Head of House, it was agreed that I would be the new Seeker! You promised Father!"

"Adrian Pucey and Terence Higgs are leaving the team to focus on their studies. Malfoy, you will be the new Chaser."

Snape replied without hesitation.

This was the arrangement he had decided on last night.

Little Malfoy did indeed have decent broomstick talent, and his father's generosity significantly boosted the Slytherin team's strength.

So, replacing Terence Higgs, who had been defeated by first-year Harry in terms of skill, and putting little Malfoy in was perfectly reasonable and aligned with Slytherin's interests.

But now that they had a broomstick genius like George, the most important position, Seeker, naturally had to go to George.

However, little Malfoy also brought considerable value, so he replaced the expendable Chaser, Adrian Pucey.

"Head of House, I don't agree! I want to be the Seeker and compete against Potter!"

Malfoy immediately shouted.

Everyone now knew he was supposed to be Slytherin's Seeker. If George took his place, he would be utterly humiliated.

Moreover, he had always wanted to surpass Harry, and only as a Seeker did he have that hope.

We are all Hogwarts wizards. Competition between us is normal, but it's unreasonable to say we can't be friends or lovers just because we're from different Houses.

Who decreed that only people from the same House can be friends or marry?"

The other Slytherin team members were stunned by George's bold remarks. They thought George was surely about to be severely reprimanded by Snape.

"Head of House, see? I told you! George will definitely go easy on Harry if he's Seeker! He even wants to marry those Mudbloods from Gryffindor!

A Slytherin wizard wanting to marry a Gryffindor witch—that's the biggest joke I've heard today!"

"Silence! Levicorpus!"

Snape's face turned grim, and he directly cast the spell, hanging Malfoy upside down.

"Either be a Chaser, or get out of the team."

"Little brat, trying to fight me."

George's lips curled slightly. He had deliberately said that to provoke Malfoy into saying those words.

Malfoy didn't know that Snape's greatest pain was that because they were sorted into different Houses, and because he clung to his Slytherin identity and said some hurtful things, Lily was stolen by Potter.

Malfoy's words were practically a slap in Snape's face.

"Head of House, Malfoy doesn't seem convinced. How about this: Malfoy and I have a match. Whoever catches the Golden Snitch first becomes Slytherin's Seeker."

He wanted Malfoy to be truly convinced, never daring to challenge him again, thereby solidifying his own position in Slytherin.

"Liberacorpus!"

With a flick of his wand, Snape brought Malfoy down.

Little Malfoy's parents were close to him. Besides being former Death Eaters, they were also classmates. He had even almost become little Malfoy's godfather.

So, if little Malfoy hadn't been constantly getting on his nerves today, he wouldn't have been so strict with him.

"Alright, then. A match it is. The winner becomes Seeker, the loser becomes Chaser."
