As the power from the two blood samples was extracted, it entered Noah's body through a special column of light.

For a moment, Noah felt his body undergo incredible changes—but then, it seemed like nothing had changed at all.

"By the way, System, why did you extract the power from the Space Gem earlier?" Noah asked, a bit bored from waiting.

Waiting was always the hardest part—especially when that column of light pierced his chest, making him feel like he'd been stabbed by a sword.

Noah was also very curious; after being frozen as a statue for so long, there had to be an explanation.

"If you choose the second option, I can use that power to slightly improve your physical fitness, so you won't have to start from zero," the System replied quickly.

Noah's eyes lit up. "That's great, thank you!"

Don't start from zero?

Did that mean Noah could begin with decent physical fitness?

That was good news!

To be honest, Noah had never cared much about it—reaching the tenth level seemed like a distant dream.

But he didn't want to be beaten all day by other melee magicians at Kamar-Taj. To avoid having to sacrifice his body later, he had tried hard to improve in this area.

Although progress was slow, Noah at least wasn't slacking off, right?

"Sorry, I'm afraid that can't be done." The System's voice was indifferent, as if discussing something irrelevant.

"Why? Denying your own words isn't good!" Noah was a little angry.

What did that mean? He was talking just a moment ago—why suddenly ignore him?

To be honest, if the System had never lied, Noah might have guessed it had swallowed those powers itself.

You know, in some novels, systems absorb high-level powers for themselves.

Using these powers to repair damage—Noah felt the reason this System was so low-level was that it wasn't complete.

Otherwise, if it had an interface like a game, why no blue or health bar?

"Extracting power is very difficult," the System said calmly, but with a hint of contempt.

"Then what?" Noah asked, puzzled.

"You chose to improve your physical fitness directly, so I poured all the power into your body."

Noah suddenly had a bad feeling. Forcing a smile, he said, "Don't tell me—you poured all the power into me."

"Of course not." The System's voice remained calm, but somehow Noah felt a hint of sarcasm.

"What about the remaining power?"

"The power of the Space Gem can only be dispelled by the power of the Space Gem. Otherwise, do you think you'd still have the strength to talk to me now?"

"So, to satisfy your wish and save you, all the power was gone. Congratulations—you've lost your own power."

Noah's face turned completely black.

"You're telling me this awful thing now?"

What other power of the Space Gem could only be dispelled by itself?

Back in the day, magicians could only be defeated by magic!

Believe it or not, whoever said this must be embarrassed—because Noah guarantees that if given a chance and a dagger, he'd teach that guy the assassin is the true master of magic in close quarters.

Though ordinary magicians wouldn't be foolish enough to let an assassin get close, Noah had no time to honor any fathers for no reason.

Noah was just too depressed, letting so many inexplicable thoughts run through his mind.

But honestly—how could he not be?

Noah had just dug a pit for himself, with no room to maneuver.

That would shatter anyone's mentality. Even Noah, with a strong mind, struggled to bear it.

This feeling continued until the System finished the fusion process—only then did Noah feel some relief.

"Forget it. Hell is just the beginning. It's not like I haven't been through worse. Eleven years wasted, doing nothing, and now I'm still doing okay, right? Besides, the Cosmic Magic is temporarily stored with Fury—I can always ask him for it later."

Noah sighed, trying to calm down.

Whether Fury would refuse was not something Noah worried too much about.

Magicians had so many ways to deal with ordinary people—it was too tiring even to consider.

He lowered his head, looked at his body, and it was exactly as he imagined.

Except the rainbow beam once in his chest had disappeared, he didn't feel anything different—nothing had changed, which made Noah a little depressed.

"System, this really seems useless. Will it fail?"

"The fusion was very successful. As for why you don't feel anything—that is completely normal."

"Well, I thought some black stuff would suddenly appear all over me, saying it was for evolution."

"If you hadn't wasted that energy, I think that would happen. But now, it depends on your own effort."

It was all about that energy—you used it all up!

Noah was too tired to argue with the System. He slowly stood and quietly tested his body.

No change—he felt nothing.

"Besides improving energy and allowing growth over time, is there any way to make my physical fitness grow faster?"

"Complete Kamar-Taj training. Although its method can't break human limits, it allows continuous improvement."

"Uh, so this is developing toward melee combat?"

"Just wait."

Waiting—Noah touched his chin, too lazy to think further.

Anyway, he'd already made some small progress, right?

Though implicit, Noah figured he had at least ten years to wait—he could manage.

"Well, I wanted to rest today, but now it seems unnecessary."

Noah sighed, rubbed the kitten watching him with a puzzled face, and stood up.

Pushing open the door, he glanced at the sun hanging in the sky, then closed the door and headed to the training ground.

"I wouldn't have come if I'd known!"

Noah lay on the ground like a dead dog, staring at Wong and Mordo, who sat speechless beside him.

The two also looked at Noah blankly, having seen this scene and heard Noah's complaints countless times.

"You're so weak, Noah. Get up! We're going to train more." Mordo shook his head—this guy really was weak.

"Train more? Don't you see I'm almost dead?" Noah shouted in frustration.

"What else? Look at you. Honestly, you're not that tired—otherwise, you wouldn't have the energy to shout."

Does shouting loudly mean you have strength?

Noah rolled his eyes, too lazy to argue. No matter what he said, he probably couldn't shake Mordo, so he saved his energy.

However, Noah noticed something interesting: his body's recovery seemed really good.

He did feel exhausted after training, like usual.

But after a short rest, his stamina recovered significantly—at least to about 50%, not "full blood resurrection" or "full red and blue," but enough to handle extra training.

That gave Noah hope. With endurance and recovery like this, even if his melee combat lagged, he might reach high level.

Imagine an opponent beating you for a long time while you stay fine—but when they tire, you're still fresh.

This was the hallmark of a protracted tug-of-war—something Noah had never dared to imagine before but now seemed possible.

"Do I have a chance to become a cockroach?"

Noah sighed and stood slowly.

Though uninterested in extra training, he decided to try—to find his body's limits.

"To know the limit, so I can plan my training volume."

The training method once deleted by Master Gu Yi for magic had now become purely physical training—and was exhausting.

Anyway, magic relied on meditation; this separate training seemed more popular.

An hour later, Noah sat panting on the ground; Mordo and Wong were barely better.

But Noah's expression had changed significantly. This guy—was he really so strong physically, or was he just pretending before?

"You don't look tired yet," Mordo said, panting. "Looks like we need to increase training. What do you think, Wang?"

"Huh, huh, I don't care," Wang replied vaguely, panting.

"Are you sure? You don't look well," Noah teased, wiping sweat.

Mordo and Wong answered in unison: "You're fine. What's wrong with us?"

They stood up again, and after another hour, both collapsed, unable to move.

Noah was distressed to find his stamina had fully recovered.
