It was probably obvious what would happen to Fury after being scratched by the Devourer.

For such an unfortunate thing, Noah just wanted to say: you really deserved it.

He remembered Talos warning Fury, "That's no ordinary cat—it's the Devourer!"

But unfortunately, Fury hadn't believed any of that nonsense and suffered the consequences.

Noah reluctantly handed the Cosmic Cube to Fury, then cast the same Silence Spell he had used on Pickham on a few ordinary people, and left.

This was also in line with Noah's expectations—he had never intended to erase their memories from the start.

Probably to satisfy some dark sense of humor, Noah would rather let a guy like Fury remember him, know him, yet not say a word.

To be honest, Noah was actually looking forward to meeting Fury again in the future. He really wondered what state Fury would be in when that happened.

After leaving, Noah went straight back to Kamar-Taj. The first thing he did was return to his room for some much-needed sleep.

Though Noah usually entered system space to sleep, he'd been out and about for two or three days, and his actual sleep time was pitiful.

His body wasn't much worse for wear, but his spirit felt off—something was wrong.

So he simply entered system space, read carefully, and spent more time meditating.

Meditation was the most important thing for Noah; since acquiring this "skill," he never stopped.

He meditated until morning, completely forgetting he had obtained Carol's blood.

"You look very tired. What have you been up to these days?" Ms. Heifen asked, holding the kitten Noah had brought back, sitting at the head of his bed, watching him curiously.

"Didn't the teacher tell you?" Noah looked at the lazy cat in Ms. Heifen's arms, reached out to rub its head, and replied sleepily.

"It wasn't made clear. Just said you went out on some missions," Ms. Heifen said, looking at the slightly disgruntled little creature and patting Noah's hand.

"Well, I did complete some tasks," Noah yawned, withdrawing his hand. "To be precise, I met some aliens, set some fires, had some fun, and brought this little guy back."

"Brought it back? You didn't steal from a pet store, did you?"

"No, it's not a cat. It's an alien creature called the Devourer. Well, a creature with a big appetite."

Ms. Heifen raised an eyebrow. Devourer?

Though she'd been exposed to magic over a year, the books she read barely compared to Noah's.

Even at Kamar-Taj, she mostly studied basics, while Noah constantly flipped through obscure, messy tomes.

Like those about a magician turning a rabbit into a human, or On the Feasibility of Magic Creation—Orcs.

There was also Various Interesting and Harmful Creatures in the Magical World.

In Ms. Heifen's opinion, these things seemed useless.

"Evoker? That's her name? Sounds cool. Is her name Fleken?" Ms. Heifen stroked the kitten's back, curious. Fleken and Evoker sounded similar.

"Her name's Gugu. Please, she has a cat tag," Noah sighed. He didn't want the little guy to offend Ms. Heifen.

After thinking, Noah touched an apple on the bedside table and waved at the kitten.

As expected, the kitten's attention was caught. When Noah tossed the apple, the creature opened its mouth, and octopus-like tentacles shot out, rolling the apple and sending it directly back into her mouth.

Ms. Heifen was stunned, nearly dropping the kitten. The little creature jumped onto Noah.

"See? She's no ordinary cat."

Noah shrugged helplessly. It was strange. Why was this cat so attached to him?

Could it be that crossing over had given him affinity with animals?

Even Hathway's owl was close to him.

"Oh my God, she's dangerous, and you're keeping her?"

"If you don't make her angry, no problem. The teacher agreed."

"Well, she hasn't hurt anyone else, right?"

"Once, a salted egg head annoyed her, and she scratched him."

Ms. Heifen breathed a sigh of relief. Just a scratch—not too serious.

This little guy had a good temper, which made her more at ease.

After reminding Noah to exercise and study, Ms. Heifen left.

Noah stretched and sat up. After thinking a while, he decided to skip training today.

He'd just returned last night, so a little rest was fine, right?

Noah also planned to examine what he'd brought back and see its effects.

The system assessed Carol's blood as that of a higher evolved lifeform. Previously, the undead blood could fuse some special powers.

Noah didn't know what exactly his system could extract or fuse from this blood.

So he planned to spend time communicating with the system—he didn't want to fuse anything half-baked.

Though Noah didn't expect to be as powerful as Carol or Thor, he at least wanted to endure a beating.

"System, are you there?" Noah closed his door. Though useless, it was habit.

"If you have something to say, just say it. Don't ask if I'm here," came the mechanical system voice, but Noah felt it sounded like arguing.

"I have Carol's blood. Can you check what power can be extracted and what use it has for me?"

"It will take time. Please present the blood."

Noah waved his hand. A black hole appeared beside him, and a small bottle of blood fell into his hand.

Soon, invisible power seemed to flow into the bottle, causing the blood inside to boil.

After a long while, the power dissipated; the blood stopped boiling and returned to static.

Noah concentrated. Though unreliable, he was used to the system.

At least it didn't interfere with his affairs or make him feel like a tool.

Of course, the system had pulled tricks on Noah—like making him a statue before aliens for a long time.

Without delay, the system gave its inspection report.

Noah was speechless: Why so weak? Are you even a system? Or just a cheap imitation?

The system gave two options:

1. Extract power once—after fusion, Noah's physical fitness improves many times over. It wouldn't instantly reach Carol's current level, but the upper limit seemed to be Carol's level, probably capped at level nine.

Noah didn't want to speculate further, but this level would be enough to overpower enhanced people like Captain America.

Even Wolverine or Iron Man with tech wouldn't be especially difficult to handle.

2. Extract the sustainable growth component of Carol's blood and integrate it into Noah's body.

This wouldn't boost his body to a high level immediately—might be like not using it at all.

But this gave Noah terrifying growth potential, effectively raising his ceiling.

If continued, Noah might one day reach Carol or Thor's level.

At least, he wouldn't face the dilemma of turning into a spirit when promoting to a higher life stage.

"Don't you have a way to make my body reach that level all at once?" Noah asked, staring at the words in his mind, speechless.

"Okay, I extracted much power from the Space Gems if you want to try." The system's mechanical voice sounded again.

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier? Just use it!" Noah exclaimed excitedly.

As soon as he finished, faint blue light burst from his body.

The blue power was terrifying—Noah felt like he was going to die!

For a moment, he thought something was wrong and asked the system:

"What's the success rate?"

"Less than one percent. You're not the chosen one; you're not invincible."

"Oh, it's okay—one percent's something! Less than one percent? Stop! Stop! You want to kill me and find the next successor?"

Noah roared. The blue light vanished.

He suddenly felt like he had survived a disaster.

Though the system didn't see him as a tool, it was cruel to trick him like that.

If he hadn't been careful, he might have had a funeral that afternoon.

"I'll take the second option, damn it! I don't want to become a spirit and lose even the basic ability to be human."

After thinking it over, Noah sighed helplessly.

"Understood. Host chooses second option. Starting extraction and fusion."

The system responded quickly.

After Noah took out the undead blood, the blood in the two bottles was immediately extracted by the system.
