Chapter 212: Chapter 213: Storming Hala
BZZZT!
"Alert! Alert!"
"Prince Lothar, the isotopic levels of the Infinity Stone flowing into your body have exceeded critical thresholds!"
"Prince Lothar, the isotopic levels of the Infinity Stone flowing into your body have exceeded critical thresholds!"
"Prince Lothar…"
Red warning lights, Woz's form of high-alert protocol, scanned every inch of Lothar's body, as the data skyrocketed in exponential bursts across the main control panel.
"Please release Lady Hela's hand immediately, the Mind Stone's energy is spiraling out of control!"
As Lothar's personal AI companion, Woz was programmed to prioritize his safety above all else.
Letting go of Hela, according to Woz's probability simulations, was the optimal course of action.
After all, it was Hela who was directly interacting with the Mind Stone, not Lothar.
"Woz, I believe I already disabled your emergency alert system."
Lothar growled through gritted teeth, his body straining under the surging energy as he burst into Super Saiyan form. The once-majestic golden aura that surrounded him, usually brimming with arrogance and power, now flickered under the Mind Stone's overwhelming pressure.
"Prince Lothar, your safety overrides all protocol."
"Woz already demonstrated that back on Svartalfheim."
The blue-toned interface on the ship's dashboard showed Woz's expression tightening, serious and unyielding. From the control console, eight mechanical arms extended, twitching ominously, ready to intervene.
If Lothar continued to refuse, Woz would act. He would forcibly separate them.
"Stand down, Woz."
"That's a direct order."
Veins popped across Lothar's forehead as he snapped in a low growl, his body quivering from the energy spikes.
"And if I recall, I told you, I don't repeat myself a third time."
His pupils, now glowing emerald green, radiated a deadly warning. Lothar had made his decision, and no one, not even Woz, would disrupt his plan.
A dangerous, exhilarating plan.
"But—"
"It's. An. Order." Lothar snarled, baring his teeth as pain surged through every nerve ending, forcing one eye shut against the searing agony.
RAAAAA!!!
Hela's growl ripped through the chamber, shattering the tense silence between master and machine.
Her crimson eyes blazed. Her normally upright, formidable posture bent beneath the invisible pressure radiating from the Mind Stone now embedded at the center of her brows. Her obsidian hair whipped wildly around her like writhing shadow.
"LO—THAR!!"
Her shriek tore through the air as she lunged, twisting her body to unleash a vicious hand strike toward Lothar's neck.
CRACK!
Lothar caught her wrist mid-strike, breathing heavily, his grip firm. He smirked, just enough to infuriate her further.
"Use your head for once," he murmured.
"Without the Mind Stone, how else are you supposed to ascend this quickly?"
"Didn't you ask me how we're going to storm Hala?"
"Well, this is how."
His grin widened, defiant and electric.
"Woz, open the hatch."
"Yes, Prince Lothar. Hatch 02 is now open."
"Keep up. If you lag behind, the Kree'll blow this ship out of the sky."
As he turned to leave, Lothar shot The Other a passing glance. It was enough to send a chill down the subordinate's spine.
"Yes, Prince Lothar!"
WHOOSH!
Under The Other's stunned gaze, Lothar, now clad in a space suit, launched himself into the void, dragging Hela, who was still adjusting to the chaotic surge of borrowed power.
The air cracked with a sonic boom, and the shockwave blurred The Other's vision.
"Alert! Alert!"
"Unidentified intruders detected!"
"Unable to establish communication!"
"All units, prepa—"
BOOOOM!!!
Before the Kree border defense even finished raising the alarm, an immense wave of energy reduced the entire defensive fleet to cosmic dust.
"Enemy incursion confirmed! Enemy incursion confirmed!"
"All units of Kree Border Satellite Division Three, stand by! Repeat: stand by—!"
BOOM!!!
Two figures, a man and a woman, tore through space in an explosive, golden blaze. Every Kree soldier on the sector saw them.
"Ready?"
Golden flames swirled around Lothar's body as he pointed toward the Kree homeworld of Hala. Energy gathered in his palm before he obliterated the energy shield blocking their path.
Who said infiltration had to be subtle?
"You maniac!" Hela growled, her blood boiling with unrestrained rage.
Her crimson eyes glared as she tore through Kree defenses, shredding everything and everyone who stood in their path.
Though her voice still chastised Lothar, her body relished the carnage.
The thrill. The raw destruction.
"Stay close. Due west. Move out!"
The energy shield around Lothar shimmered violently, protecting the high-tech spacesuit he wore. The beam of light trailing behind them split the darkness like a sword. Without even pausing for combat, the two tore through everything in their way en route to the Kree capital.
Warships fell. Walls crumbled.
With Lothar in full Super Saiyan form and Hela embracing the Mind Stone embedded in her, they ruled the Kree borderlands with untamed brutality.
Side by side. Ruthless. Unstoppable.
"Stop them!"
"STOP THEM!!"
"At any cost!"
"Alert the Supreme Intelligence!"
"NOW! DO IT NOW!"
"Sir, we can't!"
"We can't hold them!"
"Our weapons, they're—!"
The command center's cries were cut short.
Weapons roared. Hela's shriek pierced the skies. And just like that, Kree pride was reduced to ash. Countless lives vanished in the blink of an eye.
Aboard the ship under Woz's control, The Other sat trembling.
His loyalty to Lothar was unwavering.
But in that moment… as chaos tore through the Kree Empire's outer rim…
Doubt crept into his heart.
They had provoked... the most powerful empire in the known universe.
...
Planet Hala, Capital of the Kree Empire.
The broadcast from the AI god Supreme Intelligence incited the entire Kree military high command into a frenzy. Officers across Hala were enraged, vowing to tear the intruders limb from limb.
Never in the Empire's history had anyone dared provoke them so brazenly.
If they let this slide, how could the Kree continue to dominate the galaxy?
"Supreme Intelligence, I believe this isn't as simple as it appears."
"Judging by the footage and records, I suspect the Son of Thanos is deliberately drawing our elite away from Hala itself."
Accuser Cross, close friend of Rocco and godfather to the infant Ronan, stared solemnly at the visage of Gina, the projection Supreme Intelligence used to represent the person Cross cared most about.
"And if that's true?"
"Cross, don't forget, we are—"
"Fools. Arrogant and ignorant fools."
The Other's scathing voice echoed across Hala, broadcast through the ship's speakers expertly manipulated by Woz.
"Raise your hands. Bow your heads…"
"And greet your new king."
