Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Fierce Battle on Earth 700 (4)
Compared to the other two battles, Peter's side had no real issues, mainly because... well, the Scorpion in this universe was, to put it mildly, quite something.
Generally, Scorpion is a modified human, endowed with a mechanical tail that can spray acidic slime and injected with Scorpion's modified genes, greatly enhancing his physique and even granting him strength and speed superior to Spider-Man's.
However, Earth 700's Scorpion had taken a completely different path, showing no trace of genetic modification. Instead, he had genuinely transformed himself into a giant scorpion with four legs, one pincer arm, and even a barbed tail.
"You're not even green!"
Spider-Man leaped high, clinging to the top of the tunnel. Hanging upside down, he looked at Earth 700's Scorpion. "Not being green is one thing, but brown? Brown? Seriously? Are you a desert scorpion? You should be in the Arizona sand, munching on cacti. Why are you in the New York subway?"
Scorpion, in his heavily accented voice, spoke words Peter had never heard before and couldn't understand. Peter sighed, then watched as Scorpion's four legs suddenly propelled him forward, charging at him.
He merely shrugged and shot a stream of web at the opponent. Scorpion grinned arrogantly, swinging his pincer-arm, intending to cut the incoming web. However, this web had been shot precisely to anticipate his movement, directly sticking to the metal claws of his pincer.
Then, a series of powerful electric currents transmitted through the web. Scorpion, with only body modifications and no genetic enhancements, was fried inside and out. Peter tapped his foot and raised his left hand to check the time. When he felt it was about right, he let go, dropping next to the free-falling Scorpion.
"Thanks for all the body modifications; I don't feel any moral burden dismantling you."
Peter stomped on the back of the still-struggling Scorpion, directly tearing off its bionic tail. Scorpion let out a cry of pain with a Mexican accent, followed by his large pincer-left arm, and then two of his modified legs that could transform into four legs.
"Or vice versa, four legs that can turn into two legs, whatever."
He flung away all the messy parts, then tossed the now limbless Scorpion, with only one right arm remaining, and webbed him to the pipe. Peter looked at Spider-Man (Earth 700) who was battling the collider and Wilson Fisk, then turned his head and saw Spider-Man 2099 landing beside him.
"All clear, kid?"
Miguel had only intended to ask a question but saw Peter extending a fist towards him. He hesitated, looked at Peter, nodded, then bumped fists. Together, they swung on webs towards Fisk. Now, if they could just take care of Fisk, they could shut down the collider.
At this moment, the spatial rift had opened enormously, dyeing the surrounding space a dangerous red. All sorts of strange things had already started emerging from it. Peter and Miguel swung on webs towards Fisk.
On the way, Peter's spider-sense screamed. He barely managed to shout a warning before quickly evading. Miguel, unsure what to be careful of, was suddenly struck in the back by an incoming octopus tentacle from behind. The tentacle then constricted his neck, lifting the hulking man.
"Another Spider-Man, and it looks like he doesn't have web-shooters."
Liv, sipping coffee, floated over with a smile, looking at Miguel, whose neck she was tightly squeezing. Two other tentacles moved towards Peter. Peter, for the first time, encountered something that could avoid his web interference. Even powerful webs were useless against the tentacles, and electric webs were easily dodged by these incredibly nimble appendages.
Miguel, meanwhile, freed one hand and extended a claw, intending to cut the tentacle, but his right hand was quickly controlled by another tentacle. Peter, from a distance, lunged at her, pursued by Doctor Octopus's other tentacles. As for her, she wasn't paralyzed; even without tentacles, she could land on the ground and stand by, enjoying the fight with the Spider-Men.
"Sorry, kid, I didn't realize Liv upgraded her tentacles," Blonde Peter said through the comms, dodging Fisk's punches. "Give me a few minutes, and I can take him down."
A few minutes?
In a few minutes, the rift might cover all of them. Look at it now; things from other universes are already flying out, already experiencing zero-gravity reactions, floating everywhere.
Wait... Peter thought about how Fisk was defeated in the original movie and suddenly had an idea.
"Hey, um, older Spider-Man?" Spider-Man, while continuously dodging Doctor Octopus's new tentacles, suggested to Spider-Man (Earth 700), "Take your opponent into the rift's area of influence!"
"What? Are you sure that's a good idea?"
"Trust me this once!"
So Spider-Man (Earth 700) deliberately showed off his key in front of Fisk, then leaped, charging towards the collider's energy panel. Fisk, seeing the zero-gravity environment, directly tore off a nearby metal outer wall and threw it towards the energy panel, then stepped on it, flying like Mercenary Tao. He quickly caught up to the other Spider-Man, roared, and lunged at him. The two fell from mid-air, and Fisk relentlessly punched Spider-Man (Earth 700) in the face.
A blue bus floated out of the spatial rift. Fisk slammed Spider-Man (Earth 700) onto the bus, punching him repeatedly. The bus floated erratically, then plunged into the rift.
"You think you and your hooligans can stop me? You can't!"
Fisk roared, about to punch Spider-Man (Earth 700) in the face, but Blonde Peter seemed to see something and looked behind Fisk. And Fisk, in turn, heard a voice.
"Wilson, what are you doing?"
The phantom of his deceased wife, Vanessa, appeared behind him. Fisk twisted his head in disbelief, seeing Vanessa holding their son, Richard, in the phantom. He saw his wife leaving him with their son once more.
"You want them back, Willy, but you forgot why they left, ah!"
A kick landed on the relaxed Fisk, sending him out of the bus and the spatial rift's range. Blonde Peter leaped out of the bus, passed through the spatial rift, and returned to his own universe. Then, in mid-air, he caught Fisk and retaliated with a full set of wild punches until both crashed heavily onto the ground.
"You think I killed your wife and child. You're wrong, Willy. You killed them. In any universe, no matter how many times, they will always leave." Blonde Peter, who had Fisk completely wrapped in webs, looked at Peter still fighting Doctor Octopus and Miguel, who was firmly restrained. He thought of something, then webbed a bus that was sticking its head out of the spatial rift, pulled it out entirely, and slammed it towards Doctor Octopus.
"Catch this, Liv—delivery right to your door!"
Liv looked up at the bus, instinctively retracting all her tentacles to protect herself, but unfortunately, the multi-ton object still crashed heavily onto her—she probably wasn't dead, but it certainly wasn't pleasant.
"Alright, guys, the Spider-Men saved New York, again." Blonde Peter approached the energy panel, inserted the key, and after unlocking the system, he jokingly asked over the comms, "There's a big, shiny red button here. Who wants to press it? End it all."
"You do it, old man, this is your universe."
"I'm only 26," Blonde Peter chuckled, then pressed the green button. The collider's energy began to diminish, and finally, it completely shut down.
