Chapter 72: CHAPTER 71: Gwen's Plan

Meanwhile...

After dinner, Arthur went to take a shower and finish writing his book.

About 50 minutes later, Arthur went up to the rooftop of the penthouse and found Jean alone, gazing at the city bathed in the lights of the night.

She was wearing a white shirt—his—which revealed a glimpse of the light blue swimsuit underneath. Her legs were bare, exposed to the soft evening breeze.

"This woman..."

Arthur smiled to himself.

Without saying a word, he went to the kitchen, opened a bottle of wine, and poured two glasses. Milk tea was more their style... but tonight, wine felt more appropriate. Some emotions require a different kind of warmth.

With the glasses in hand, he went back up to the rooftop and approached Jean, offering her one.

"Arthur... Why isn't it milk tea this time?"

"I figured your heart was heavy. A little wine might help you relax."

Jean took the glass, sipped it, and lightly pursed her lips.

"It's not as good as milk tea... but it'll do."

"There's more." Arthur raised another bottle and smiled.

"Let's drink together."

They sat side by side, the comfortable silence filling the space between them. Arthur knew Jean carried a lot in her heart. She always had. It was easy to see beyond her steady gaze.

She took another sip, crossed her legs, and looked up at the sky.

"You know, Arthur... sometimes I think about that party. The moment I met you."

"Oh yeah?"

"It was strange. Like the world was a mess... and suddenly, everything just stopped." She laughed, a bit embarrassed.

"I guess that sounds cheesy, right?"

"Not at all."

Jean smiled, but her eyes wandered back to the city.

"I... don't know exactly when it started. Or how. But at some point, all I could think about was you."

Arthur turned to her, surprised by her sincerity.

"I kept thinking about how you listened to me that day... how you weren't afraid of me. Of who I am. Even knowing what I carry inside..." She placed her hand over her chest.

"You were kind. You were honest. And... as simple as it may seem, that conversation saved me. It saved the mutants who were with me too."

Arthur watched her silently, feeling the weight of her words.

"Before I met you..." Jean continued, her voice softer.

"I thought there was only darkness ahead of me. Like I didn't belong in this world. Like... I was a mistake."

Arthur felt her aura change. A dense, intense, almost tangible energy filled the air.

She felt it too, and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

"Charles always warned me about this force. He... put a cage inside me. A limit."

"He was afraid of you," Arthur said.

"Instead of helping you understand, he locked you away. That's not protection. That's control."

Jean looked at him, vulnerable.

"But he did it because he cared about me..."

"I know. But that doesn't make it right. The power is yours, Jean. Not Charles'."

She lowered her gaze. For the first time, she seemed to really consider those words.

"And what if I lose control?"

Arthur smiled and gently touched her hand.

"Then I'll be here. To hold you. Always."

Jean went quiet for a moment. That... that was what she had always longed to hear. Something so simple, yet never sincerely given. She leaned closer, her voice trembling:

"Arthur..." she whispered.

"I love you."

Arthur blinked, caught off guard.

"I don't know when it started. Or how. I just know that... every time I think of you, my heart calms down. You make me feel like I can exist. Not as a weapon. But as someone... alive."

She hugged him, burying herself in his chest, letting all the tears she'd held back for years finally come out.

Arthur wrapped his arms around her, firm. Strong. He felt her body against his, and the warmth of Jean's emotion.

She just needed someone to tell her she wasn't alone.

Half an hour later, calmer now, Jean looked at him with teary eyes.

This time, she took the initiative. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him.

A kiss full of desire, tenderness, a love that was born in silence and now exploded like a supernova.

Arthur kissed her back with intensity, but quickly pulled away.

Jean held his wrist, pulling him back. Her eyes shimmered with desire.

"You're... hesitating." Jean said, lifting her face to meet his eyes.

"Why?"

He took a deep breath, his eyes scanning her face as if committing every line to memory.

"It's not that I don't want to..." Arthur said, his voice softer than ever.

"I like you too, Jean. Maybe more than I should. But... I'm still with Gwen."

Jean was quiet for a moment. Then, she smiled. Not a sad smile, nor a resigned one. A genuine, warm smile.

"I know," she said.

Arthur raised an eyebrow.

"You know?"

"Of course I know, silly."

Jean smiled, gently pulling his hand and placing it over her heart.

"Gwen told me. She also mentioned something about you two meeting your future daughter or something." She chuckled.

"She's the one who said... that you still look at me that way."

Arthur went quiet. That conversation echoed in his mind.

---

"Don't tell me you have feelings for Jean?" she said.

Arthur pulled her into his arms, lifting her chin.

"And what would you do if I said yes?" Arthur returned the smile.

"I'd help you." She replied, stealing a kiss from a surprised Arthur before pulling away.

"I must've heard that wrong... Can you repeat what you just said, Gwen?" Arthur looked at her, confused.

"Oh come on, Arthur. You really think I haven't noticed the way you look at her?" Gwen replied.

"Besides, it wouldn't be a bad thing to have someone to share your stamina. I might not be able to handle your libido on my own." she said, casting an accusatory glance at Arthur.

---

(She was really serious back then...) Arthur thought.

Jean leaned in closer, her lips nearly brushing his.

"And it was Gwen who told me to come to you tonight. With a clear heart and courage."

Arthur smiled, surprised.

"She really did that, huh..."

Jean nodded, her fingers sliding up the back of his neck.

"So tell me, Mr. Arthur Morgan... are you still going to hesitate?"

This time, he didn't answer with words.

Arthur kissed her, deeper, more intense.

Her lips were warm, hungry, yet gentle. Her skin vibrated under Arthur's touch, which explored her reverently. Every part, every curve, was discovered with care, as if every inch was sacred.

The wine, the emotion, the love... everything blended in a silent dance of hands, sighs, and glances.

Jean didn't want haste. She wanted to feel.

With a careful gesture, Arthur picked her up in his arms.

"Shall we go to the bedroom?" he asked, eyes locked with hers.

Jean nodded, resting her head on his shoulder, and he carried her inside.

--

The room was bathed in the soft twilight of the city lights. Outside, everything felt distant, unreal. But inside, Jean and Arthur existed in a time that was theirs alone.

Arthur sat on the bed with Jean still in his arms, kissing her.

The kiss grew more passionate, their tongues meeting with a long-restrained desire. Jean's hands slid under his shirt, slowly removing it, her fingers exploring the warm skin beneath.

Arthur returned the gesture. His hands glided up her bare thighs, slowly, feeling every shiver. Jean gasped against his lips when his fingers reached the sides of her swimsuit. He pulled it down gently, revealing her inch by inch.

She was beautiful, wild and vulnerable all at once.

Arthur laid her down on the bed, his body covering hers. Their naked bodies pressed together, skin on skin, desire building with every touch, every breath.

Jean pulled him closer, her hips moving in a silent invitation. He entered her slowly, both of them gasping as they became one. It was intimate, intense, and above all, full of emotion.

Jean's hands clutched at his back, her body arching to feel him deeper.

"Arthur..." she whispered in his ear, her voice breaking between soft moans.

Arthur replied with kisses on her neck, her shoulders, the curves that drove him wild. Their rhythm grew stronger, hotter, like waves crashing and merging.

She was fire, and he didn't back away.

Jean's moans filled the room, muffled between kisses, between whispered names said with reverence. She held nothing back—every desire, every pleasure, every emotion was offered to Arthur.

And he received her like one holds a sacred flame.

When they climaxed, it was as if the world stopped for a moment. Jean trembled beneath him, her legs wrapped around Arthur's waist, her eyes shut and lips parted in pure ecstasy.

Arthur laid beside her and pulled her close.

They stayed like that for long minutes. Breathing together. Hearing only the sound of their hearts pounding.

Jean gently ran her fingers through his hair, her eyes teary again—but this time, not from pain. It was relief. It was love.

"I wish this moment could last forever," she whispered.

Arthur kissed her forehead.

"Me too."

Jean's breathing began to slow, her fingers lazily tracing his chest as she rested in his arms, their bodies pressed together as if trying to merge forever.

The silence was comforting. But it didn't last.

Arthur looked at her, eyes shining with a mix of tenderness... and mischief. A crooked smile formed on his lips.

"Ready for round two?"

Jean blinked, surprised.

"Huh?"

Before she could process the question, Arthur grabbed her by the waist and pulled her firmly into his lap, making her let out a small cry of surprise—and something else.

"A-Arthur..." she gasped, feeling him align with her once more.

"You still have energy...?" she breathed.

"Still got fire to burn," he murmured against the sensitive skin of her neck, his voice low and thick with desire.

Jean gripped his shoulders, her body already responding instinctively to his presence and warmth. Arthur held her in place, guiding her down onto him firmly, making her moan loudly and hoarsely, her head falling back as he entered her deeply, all at once, without warning.

The pleasure hit her like a wave, even more intense from the surprise.

She clung to him tightly, her hips beginning to move naturally, in a rhythm that matched his.

Arthur watched her every reaction, every sigh, every shiver. His hands roamed Jean's back, guiding her precisely, as if he knew exactly where to touch her to make her lose control.

"You're... insatiable..." she said between soft moans, her body trembling from renewed pleasure.

Arthur held her tightly against his chest, their movements growing more intense.

She smiled between kisses, her eyes damp with pleasure and emotion. There were no more doubts, no fear. Just the moment, just the two of them—connected in body and soul.

(End of the chapter)

I was watching The Amazing Spider-Man again today, and I realized I had used the wrong name for the device the Lizard used to spread the serum across New York.

Nebulizers are medical devices used to administer medication directly into the lungs by converting liquids (typically medicinal solutions) into a fine mist that can be inhaled.

However, the device used by the Lizard is called: Gantry Dispersal Device

It's equipment used to spread chemical substances across large areas through the air. In the film, it was developed by Oscorp to efficiently distribute cures or vaccines over wide areas, but it ended up being used by the Lizard to try and transform the entire population of New York.

Therefore, from now on, whenever it's mentioned, I will use the term dispersal device.

Do you want to know why I didn't post anything here for so long? The reason was something completely stupid.I formatted my phone and my PC because somehow they got a virus and some unemployed person with nothing to do kept hacking some of my accounts... The problem is that I forgot to save the password for my email linked to this account in my notebook... Literally today I remembered that my old phone, which hasn't been on since last year, still had that account saved, all I needed to do was recharge its battery, turn it on, and then change the email password.
