"Young people nowadays sure got a lot of firepower." Arthur stretched and said, "A bit of exercise would be much healthier."

"..."

Tony's face darkened when he heard that and he retorted back: "That reason won't persuade anyone."

"Arthur!"

Thor suddenly stepped forward and said, "Father needs to see you. He hopes you can visit Asgard as soon as possible."

"Oh?" Arthur was a bit surprised: "When?"

"Now!" Thor replied.

Arthur thought for a moment and nodded: "Understood, I'll head over immediately."

He glanced at Loki and said, "Be careful with this guy."

"Believe me, with me around, he won't cause any trouble," Thor assured.

Arthur raised an eyebrow; that confidence… looks like Loki needs to pull a few more tricks before Thor fully accepts the fact that he is unable to take care of Loki.

Arthur waved his hand, saying: "You guys hang in there. If things go south, call for help, and I'll come to your rescue."

"By the way, about what you mentioned last time, I've prepared some things for you. Don't forget to take them with you when you leave!" Thor hurriedly said after seeing that Arthur about to leave.

"Got it." Arthur's eyes lit up, and in a flash, he vanished from the spot.

As Arthur left, the others exchanged glances for a moment before boarding the Quinjet with Loki.

Meanwhile, Arthur was speaking over the wireless communication: "Did you hear everything just now? Be cautious of Loki's magic staff. I've mentioned the Space Stone before. In fact, the staff he holds hides another one of the Infinity Stones called the Mind Stone!"

"In an already divided group, don't let the Mind Stone affect you! The agreement between Loki and me might play a crucial role in the future…"

Arthur continued, "I hope when I return from Asgard, I'll be able to fight alongside you!"

"Cough Cough!"

A cough came through the earpiece and Arthur smiled as he called for Heimdall.

The next moment, a rainbow light descended from the sky!

...

...

The Hall of Bifrost remained resplendent with gold and jade, and Heimdall was still the stoic Asgardian.

"Nice to see you, my friend." Heimdall's gaze was deep as he spoke: "I have seen many things."

"...Stop peeping on me all the time," Arthur said with a hint of exasperation in his voice.

"The All-Father is waiting for you in the Golden Palace."

After Heimdall finished speaking, he drew the Guardian Sword from its pedestal, sheathed it again, and continued to use it as a walking stick, staring blankly into the distance.

Arthur glanced at his back, thinking that this guy probably was peeking at someone again.

Outside, horses were already prepared for him and Arthur mounted one and rode straight toward the Golden Palace.

They say there's only one path to Mountain, and it seems Asgard is much the same. A straight road led directly to the palace gates.

The two guards, having evidently received orders, were not surprised by Arthur's arrival.

Arthur dismounted, and one of the guards led him to the outside of Odin's palace.

The great doors were open, and Arthur walked straight in to see Odin seated on his throne.

"Are you doing well old man?" Arthur entered the hall and asked, without any formalities.

"Not bad." Odin smiled upon seeing Arthur, though it was unclear what was so amusing for him.

Arthur blinked before he spoke: "The situation on Earth is keeping me quite busy right now. Why did you call me here?"

Odin paused for a moment, then appeared right in front of Arthur: "Recently, my old friends and I have been discussing you."

"Talking behind people's backs and so openly at that?" Arthur blinked.

"Apologies." Odin smiled as he continued to speak: "It's because this matter is very important to us."

"Just joking…" Arthur waved his hand: "I have a rough idea of what you're discussing. So, was the sudden summons because of this matter?"

"I have been keeping an eye on you."

Odin said: "But as your mental energy continues to rise, it will gradually exceed human limits. By then, even if I wanted to, I won't be able to see it. In fact, there are no clear visions of your future anymore; everything is obscured."

He expressed some regret, grabbing Arthur's wrist and leading him out of the Golden Palace, appearing in the sky above Asgard.

Odin asked while looking down at the whole of Asgard: "Have you made up your mind?"

Arthur was silent for a moment, then nodded: "Yes, I've made up my mind! This isn't a game; it concerns the lives of countless people!"

"Having a clear understanding of this is a rare thing."

Odin's eyes carried a hint of melancholy as he looked at the entire Asgard: "In my youth, I waged wars across the universe. I've witnessed the most terrifying powers, experienced the deepest despair, and stood at the pinnacle, overlooking the beautiful scenes below. I have guarded… Asgard for many years."

Arthur looked at Odin, feeling puzzled.

"Ultimately, the future will change." Odin smiled faintly, turning to Arthur: "You will face many difficulties and countless challenges in the coming time. Have you… mentally prepared yourself for this?"

"Probably…"

Arthur's response was not very decisive: "But I am definitely not running away anymore, as it is meaningless."

It turned out that escaping was not as simple as wishing for it.

Seventy years ago, he had once thought that after struggling on the battlefield, he would achieve something, and by the time he was ninety, Thanos would be irrelevant to him. Maybe by then, he'd just be dead.

But in the end, due to the Tesseract, his time skipped to seventy years in the future.

The arrival of Thanos was now imminent, and Arthur could even feel Thanos's presence…

What was even harsher was that the Tesseract, perhaps thinking his understanding was insufficient, had once again sent him into space, where he experienced an interstellar war.

Wandering the universe for three months, Arthur witnessed many abandoned planets.

The various cruelties displayed before him gave him a new understanding of the possible horrors he might face in the future.

Now, having decided not to run away, he ignored the need for mental preparation. He had no intention of retreating.

When Arthur resolved to move forward, that indomitable spirit of facing death with unyielding determination came to the forefront once again.

Odin looked at him and suddenly smiled: "I called you here today to see your resolve. It seems… that I won't be left disappointed. However, this is still far from enough. You will need more."

He turned around and said: "If one day, I entrust the safety of Asgard to you… would you take on that responsibility?"
