Love Watch in Ben 10: Evolution

Chapter 3: CHAPTER 3

c3: Hunting the Natural Enemy – Kurodonsaurus

"ROAR!"

A monstrous roar exploded overhead.

Klein's eyes sharpened as he looked up swiftly.

Descending toward them was a massive crustacean-like beast, towering over ten meters tall. Its horned head resembled a rhinoceros, its purple exoskeleton layered like jagged stone, and a red Nemetrix collar glowed ominously around its thick neck.

Its eyes were blood-red, blazing with unrestrained hostility, and its jaws razor-sharp and serrated looked capable of crushing concrete.

It barreled down on them with terrifying speed.

"Run!"

Klein grabbed the dazed Ben Tennyson (Tian Xiaoban) and yanked him out of the impact zone.

BOOM

The creature—Kurodonsaurus, the Apex Predator slammed into the ground, creating a shockwave that hurled gravel and debris outward in a fifty-meter radius.

Ben gawked, his expression frozen in disbelief. "What in the world is that thing!?"

He had seen plenty of aliens, but this was a class of monster beyond ordinary.

Klein narrowed his eyes. "That's Kurodonsaurus the Apex Predator genetically engineered to hunt Pyronites like Heatblast."

Ben blinked. "Wait, you're saying it's Heatblast's… natural predator?"

"Exactly." Klein nodded. "Think of it as his biological counter his worst nightmare."

Ben scratched his head, confused. "Okay, but how do you know all this?"

Klein shrugged, dodging the truth. "I read the Nemetrix database once. Must've stuck."

(He obviously couldn't tell Ben he was a reincarnated dimensional traveler.)

"ROAR!"

Kurodonsaurus charged with the force of a freight train, its horn angled straight at them.

Even a heavily armored tank would've been sent flying by the sheer momentum.

"Heh, just in time!"

Ben regained his composure and slammed his hand down on the Omnitrix. The green interface lit up, cycling through alien silhouettes.

"If that thing eats Pyronites for breakfast, I'll go with someone different Humungousaur! That'll flatten him!"

He slammed the dial.

FLASH!

Instead of transforming into a massive dinosaur, Ben morphed into a slender, simian alien with six muscular arms, six glowing eyes, and gray-blue fur. The Omnitrix symbol gleamed in the center of his chest.

"…Spider Monkey!?" Ben yelled.

He stared at his hands in disbelief. "Aw man, not now!"

Despite the mismatch, Spider Monkey had agility and flexibility webbing from his tail and excellent close combat reflexes.

Klein sighed. "I told you not to slap the Love Watch in panic mode, it messes with transformation calibration."

"But it's more dramatic that way!" Spider Monkey snapped.

Klein massaged his forehead. "Whatever makes you happy."

"ROAR!"

Kurodonsaurus pounced!

Spider Monkey jumped high and latched onto the monster's back, trying to bind it with sticky webbing. But with a violent shake, the Apex Predator flung him off like a ragdoll.

Spider Monkey hit the pit floor hard.

"Ugh!"

He was still getting up when the horned beast lunged again, pinning him against a boulder. Its horn scraped sparks as it tried to pierce him.

"Gaaah!"

Spider Monkey braced with all six arms, struggling to keep the horn from crushing him. But the strength disparity was overwhelming.

High above in the shadows, Khyber stood with arms folded.

He watched, expression smug.

"Tennyson... disappointing," he muttered. "And that blonde brat still isn't running?"

Klein, standing calmly at the pit's edge, didn't flinch.

He tapped the Love Watch on his wrist a custom device fused with alien energy and affection-based compatibility. Its pink interface shimmered.

Click—SHOOM!

A blinding pink light erupted.

When it faded, a tall, crystalline warrior stood beside him Diamond Goddess.

Her body gleamed with translucent gemstones, her limbs elegant but strong. She wore a sleek, black-and-white armored combat suit, and her emerald crystal hair swept upward like a high ponytail.

She was a Petrosapien like Diamondhead but female, elegant, and graceful.

"Master! You finally summoned me!" she beamed, glowing with joy.

Klein nodded, pointing into the pit. "Jing Yao, assist Ben. That thing's overwhelming him."

"Yes, Master!"

Her demeanor shifted. The warmth vanished, replaced by cold focus. Diamond Goddess leapt from the ledge like a blade.

...

Down in the pit, Spider Monkey was nearing collapse.

Even if he'd chosen a strength-type alien, few could stand toe-to-toe with an Apex Predator created by Dr. Psychobos and armed with the Nemetrix.

Kurodonsaurus thrust upward, flinging Spider Monkey into the air. The beast opened its maw, ready to devour him whole.

"AHHHHH this is it! I'm gonna die in a crab's mouth!"

All six of Spider Monkey's eyes widened in sheer panic.

But just then

SCHING SCHING SCHING!

Dozens of crystal projectiles sliced into Kurodonsaurus's flank, exploding in dazzling flashes.

"ROOOAAAR!"

The beast screamed in pain, staggering backward.

Spider Monkey fell, landing on his feet, barely dodging the predator's jaws.

"Whoa was that… a girl Diamondhead!?"

Ben stared at Diamond Goddess, dumbfounded. It was his first time seeing her.

She stood gracefully amid the dust, her arms gleaming with newly-formed blades.

Though she didn't possess the same raw brutality as Ben's Diamondhead, her poise and lethal precision made her a force to be reckoned with.

Klein gave a thumbs up from above. "Great job, Jing Yao!"

Although these female aliens were exceptionally powerful, their strength still depended heavily on the emotional connection and encouragement of their summoner.

After all, the energy that powered their combat instincts came directly from the emotional synchronization link built into the Love Watch's neural matrix.

If Klein were to constantly suppress or insult them, it would cause emotional disharmony, leading to neural desynchronization, which in turn made the summoned alien weaker, more hesitant, or even unstable in combat.

Conversely, when he encouraged, affirmed, and praised them—while maintaining emotional balance the female aliens responded with increased morale, precision, and enhanced ability synchronization.

Of course, too much praise could backfire.

Excessive admiration could induce behavioral side effects: overconfidence, delayed response times, or strategic recklessness—especially in emotionally sensitive alien species like Petrosapiens or Thetans.

That's why Klein always calibrated his words carefully.

Consistent but measured encouragement was the key.

"Thank you, Master, I like you so much!"

Jing Yao, the Diamond Goddess, turned to him with a dazzling smile, her emotional crystal core pulsing in sync with her words. Her heart brimmed with joy, amplifying her internal power matrix.

[Jing Yao Affection Level +30, +28, +20…]

"ROAR!"

Kurodonsaurus shook off debris, its savage red eyes locking directly onto Jing Yao.

It now recognized her as the one who had inflicted real damage moments ago.

"ROAR!!"

It thundered forward like a juggernaut, its massive rhino-like horn aimed directly at her crystal chest.

"You're so noisy."

Jing Yao muttered coldly, clenching her crystalline fist and slamming it into the ground.

In an instant, a colossal crystal wall erupted upward a gleaming, jagged barricade forged from hardened Petrosapien ore.

But Kurodonsaurus's power was terrifying.

It smashed through the wall with a deafening CRACK, obliterating the entire barrier and pressing forward without pause!

"Then come on, you overgrown horseshoe crab!"

Jing Yao's forearms morphed into dual crystal blades, gleaming with a green hue as she surged forward to meet Kurodonsaurus head-on!

A brutal melee broke out blades clashing against claws, crystal colliding with alien muscle.

Meanwhile, hiding behind a shattered support pillar, Khyber's assistant Hai Ba stared at the scene, trembling, his wide scarlet eyes filled with disbelief.

"What… what is going on here!?"

"Who is that blonde human? And how is he wielding something that rivals the Omnitrix!?"

According to their briefing from Neurocrab, only Tian Xiaoban possessed the Omnitrix.

But now, this mysterious blonde had summoned a customized alien warrior with emotional feedback and elemental crystal attacks through a pink device they hadn't anticipated.

Could the intel have been wrong?

Was Neurocrab lying?

Hai Ba's heart pounded. He made a mental note to interrogate the squid-faced info broker once he returned.

BOOM!

Jing Yao struck with a two-handed uppercut, crystal energy pulsing from her forearms.

The attack sent Kurodonsaurus staggering back, a crater forming under its feet.

Despite being engineered as a counter to Pyronites like Heatblast, Kurodonsaurus had no elemental resistance to crystalline kinetic energy. Against Petrosapiens like Diamondhead and now, Diamond Goddess it had no distinct advantage.

And what's more the Love Watch had a unique combat enhancement: genetic optimization.

All female aliens summoned through the Love Watch were the elite representatives of their species, selected based on compatibility, adaptability, and combat potential.

Watching from the sidelines, Spider Monkey stood dumbfounded, jaw hanging open.

> "Oh my god… she might even be stronger than my Diamondhead!"

"Mm." Klein nodded calmly. "The Love Watch summons are fully sentient. They inherit racial memory, battle instincts, and superior combat profiling. Most of them already mastered their abilities before synchronization."

"That's insane! I need to start grinding alien proficiency like crazy!"

Spider Monkey clenched all six fists with renewed passion.

At that moment, his heart burned with motivation.

He vowed to maximize his alien proficiency levels across the board starting with his favorite:

Humungousaur!

After all, Tian Xiaoban always preferred direct brawlers who didn't need complex tactics.

---

RUMBLE!

Jing Yao raised both hands, and a massive crystal prison emerged from the battlefield, surrounding the injured and enraged Kurodonsaurus.

Just as it was about to fully lock the beast down

SHHHHHH~

A melodic whistle echoed from the shadows beyond the pit.

Kurodonsaurus's red eyes flashed.

As if receiving a psychic command, the beast let out a final roar, smashed through the cage's upper rim, and vanished into the ruins at full speed!

"Don't think you can escape, you monster!"

Jing Yao surged forward instinctively.

"Jing Yao, return. Don't chase a fleeing enemy."

Klein's voice rang out steady, confident, magnetic.

Jing Yao slowed to a stop, crystal blades retracting.

"Yes, Master…"

She exhaled slowly, the fire in her eyes fading. She hadn't had her fill of battle yet.

But a command from Klein was absolute.

With a shimmer of pink light, she reverted into radiant energy and was absorbed back into the Love Watch interface, retreating into her emotional storage state.

Spider Monkey swung down from the debris, landing next to Klein.

"Older male cousin… why'd you let him get away?"

Klein shook his head. "We're running out of summon time. If we couldn't finish him within ten minutes, I'd be vulnerable after the cooldown."

Indeed, the Love Watch's summon window was limited.

Any miscalculation could leave the user defenseless when the alien de-summoned.

Suddenly, from the cracked bathroom pipes in the rubble

SPLOOSH!

A small creature emerged from the shattered plumbing, dripping wet.

"Pa Ma?"

It blinked up at them.
