Lord of Pain: Becoming the Crime Boss with my Pain Extraction System

Chapter 11: Men in Black

Inside, the room was just as exquisite, but Vincent couldn't care less after what had just happened.

Emily had been his first love. And even though she had practically ruined his life, he still felt something for her.

The image of her round, juicy ass replayed in his head. Back then, she had acted so innocent. They only had sex once. But now? She was okay doing whatever Angel told her to.

"I guess money changes people," he muttered.

Or maybe it was all part of the act and she just never wanted him in the first place. She used him and threw him away like a rag. Even if he couldn't tell Don Angel just how rotten Emily was, he wasn't going to let her get away with it.

She could feel like she'd won—for now. But revenge is a dish best served cold, and no matter how long it took, he would get his.

'But first, I need to understand how things work around here'

The boss had said he'd send a car by 7. Checking his watch, Vincent saw he had four hours to kill.

"I can use those four hours to get a bit of sleep."

Exhausted, he collapsed into bed and quickly drifted off.

He woke up a few minutes before four and got ready. Emily came by and handed him a black suit—just like the ones the other gangsters wore.

When he stepped outside, he found Jay waiting in a car.

"Get in," Jay said bluntly.

Vincent got into the front seat. It was a different car than before, but just as expensive.

The ride was quiet. Jay didn't say a word until they arrived at the bar.

As they stepped out, Vincent froze for a moment—Gutter was standing at the entrance as usual. His chest tightened at the sight of Gutter, but Jay kept walking.

"How's your arm?" Vincent asked.

"The doc said the bullet only grazed me. Guess even bullets are too scared to hit me," Gutter chuckled, amused by his own joke.

"Good," Jay said. He glanced back. "Aren't you coming?"

"I—I am," Vincent said, forcing himself to walk.

"System, how many points do I have?" he muttered under his breath.

[You have extracted 213 points. Do you want to use them?]

"Put 100 in strength. The rest in endurance."

[Confirmed.]

Even with that, Vincent still couldn't imagine taking another hit from Gutter.

"What's this little rat doing here?" Gutter asked, leaning into Vincent's space.

"The boss wants him to work with us," Jay replied, sparing Vincent a glance.

"Huh?" Gutter looked him up and down. "What does the boss want with this guy? He doesn't look like much."

"To be honest, I don't know. I wonder what he's thinking sometimes."

"Well, in that case…" Gutter raised his hand, causing Vincent to flinch—but it was just a handshake. "Sorry about earlier."

Vincent hesitated, then accepted it. "It's no problem."

"Welcome to the family, little rat," Gutter grinned.

Vincent wondered if it was really that easy, Gutter's attitude had changed. Just hearing that the boss acknowledged him was enough for Gutter to acknowledge him too. Jay, on the other hand, wasn't as convinced.

Inside, Vincent saw the usual rows of sexy women. This time, some of them glanced at him differently. Though most were clearly fawning over Jay, a few looked curiously at Vincent walking beside him.

"Doesn't that guy look familiar?"

"Yeah, kinda. But I think he's new."

"I wonder if Jay has a girlfriend. Or maybe that's his boyfriend."

Vincent frowned. 'At least they're looking at me this time. Before, they would act like a fly had just stepped in'

Jay noticed Vincent eye-fucking the women. "You're not allowed to touch any of the bosses women," he said coldly.

"Seriously?" Vincent asked.

Jay just ignored him.

Soon they reached the office. Inside, the boss sat on a couch, Scarface standing silently behind him.

"You guys are finally here," the boss greeted with a soft smile.

"Jay, go prepare the car. We're heading out."

"Okay, boss," Jay nodded and left.

"Vinnie, sit."

Vincent obeyed.

"Do you have any family in the city?"

"No… sir."

"You don't have to call me sir. We're not in the army," the boss chuckled. "I want you to see Yellowsaber as your family. Every one of us here is your brother. We'll be loyal to you—as long as you're loyal to us."

Vincent nodded.

"The power of one man can be ignored. But if that one man has a hundred behind him? No one dares fuck with him. Don't forget that."

Just then, Jay returned. "Boss, the car's ready."

"Alright, let's go. You too, Vinnie."

"You sure, boss?" Jay shot a disapproving glance. "This is a meeting of all the major bosses in the city. Is it a good idea to bring him?"

"Yeah. Think of it as his initiation."

The boss turned to Scarface. "Scar, hold down the bar like usual. Tell the manager not to keep any visitors waiting."

Scarface gave a small nod.

Jay drove the car. Gutter rode shotgun. Vincent sat in the back with the boss. Then there was another black Van following behind them.

Eventually, they arrived at the port. The street lights cast a dull glow across the harbor, where massive ships rested on dark waters.

The place was guarded by armed ex-military personnel since robberies were common here. Men stood with rifles at the entrance, and more were inside.

The outside was lined with other expensive cars driven by the attendees of this meeting. They parked and approached a large warehouse, but were stopped by one of the guards.

"You know the rules. Only two people allowed inside."

"Of course. Gutter, wait here. Jay, go handle the other thing. Vinnie, you're coming with me."

"Okay boss,"
