Chapter 10: An Old Acquaintance
A magnificent gate, manned by two guards and connected to a road that led to a house hidden deep in the middle of nowhere, was where the boss took Vincent.
It was somewhere in Zone 11, but the road also connected directly to the heart of Zone 13.
The car came to a stop in front of a small modern mansion, heavily guarded by hardcore gangsters posted at every corner of the compound. It looked like a fortress fit for a king.
No one could step even two inches into the compound without being seen. It was secluded, hidden deep in a small forest with a lone access road.
Vincent was baffled beyond belief—this was luxury on another level. He had known the boss was rich, but this… this was beyond anything he imagined. What did he have to do to earn this kind of wealth?
'No need to worry, with the system, I'm sure I can get to this level.'
He quickened his pace to catch up with Jay and the boss, who had already stepped inside the house.
The sitting room was even more majestic. A massive TV, luxurious furniture, and even the latest gaming console filled the space.
Vincent struggled to keep his cool—it was his first time seeing such wealth in person.
His parents weren't poor, but they were humble farmers. They lived modestly, since it didn't take much to survive in the village. After they died, Vincent sold everything and left. He came to the city searching for a better life—one that would bring him fulfillment and satisfy his greedy ambitions.
Instead, he ended up in prison within his first year in the city. But that experience shaped him, taught him survival in a hostile environment, and forced him to adapt. The six months behind bars were as valuable as they were painful.
"Angel!" a woman suddenly ran out and jumped on the boss, her face glowing with joy.
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist. "My Emmy, did you miss me?"
"Why did you take so long? You said you were just stepping out to answer a call." She pouted, then noticed Vincent.
Their eyes locked for a moment before she quickly looked away.
It was the same pink-haired girl from the bar.
'I didn't know she lived with the boss.' Vincent couldn't stop staring at her stunning figure—dressed in a crop top and shorts. The top barely contained her large breasts. Vincent quickly looked away before anyone caught him mentally undressing the boss's girl.
'Could it actually be her?' An image of a woman flashed in his mind.
"Emmy, this is Vinnie. He'll be staying with us for a few weeks. Set up one of the guest rooms for him and get him some clothes," the boss said.
"Why should I do it? I'm not your servant."
"Just do it," the boss replied, calm but firm.
She frowned but turned and walked off.
"I'll send a car for you later. Be ready by seven," the boss said to Vincent. "Make yourself comfortable."
He was heading for the door when Emmy rushed back.
"You're going out again?" she asked, disappointed.
"I'm just heading to the bar."
"Then can I come?"
"Not today. Wait up for me. I'll be back before you know it." He gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead and left with Jay.
Now it was just Vincent and Emmy. Her mood soured immediately, like she didn't want to be alone with him. She glanced at him and walked off.
"Aren't you coming?" she asked.
"I am, sorry." Vincent followed after her.
His eyes were instantly drawn to her thick, juicy ass bouncing with every step. No wonder the boss kept her around.
Her petite height only enhanced her best features. With a pretty face and a body like that, she was practically every man's fantasy.
Soon, they arrived at a room.
"This'll be your room," she said, turning to leave.
"Emily," Vincent called out.
She stopped in her tracks.
"Is that actually you?" he asked.
"I go by Emmy now," she said without turning. "What are you doing here, Vincent?"
"What am I doing here? The real question is what are you doing here? I thought something terrible happened to you and that was why you disappeared."
"Well, nothing happened," she replied.
There was a brief silence as Vincent took that in.
He had originally met Emily three months after arriving in the city. They started dating a few weeks later. Then, one Friday evening, he came home to find her gone—along with some money he was responsible for. Part of it was from selling his parents' farm. The rest belonged to the warehouse where he worked.
"Nothing happened? Then where did you go? I spent weeks searching for you. I checked every hospital and police station in the area."
"Until I got arrested for the money you stole from me—then it all made sense."
"I didn't steal it. I only meant to borrow it," she said defensively.
"No need for drama. I know that was your plan all along. And I made it easy by trusting you."
Emily sighed, realizing there was no point denying it. "You're right. You shouldn't have trusted me. Village bumpkins like you were always easy targets."
"I'm sorry you got arrested," she added. "I can return the money if you want. But you can't say a word of this to Angel. I've changed."
"You think I care? You messed up my life and think I'm going to forgive you because of some half-assed apology?"
"Well, I don't care if you forgive me or not. But if you tell Angel, I'll tell him you tried to force yourself on me and now you're making up lies because I turned you down. Who do you think he'd believe?"
Vincent clenched his teeth. He knew she had a point. Whatever relationship she had with the boss gave her the upper hand. And all he had was his word.
"Just be grateful you even got to spend time with me. Someone like you would never have gotten that chance otherwise. Here, I'm Angel's queen—so think carefully before you try anything."
With that, she walked away, leaving Vincent staring once again at her swaying hips.
