Living With My Demon Stepsister

Chapter 24: Demon Diet: Me

She crept into my room without knocking.

At first, I thought she was about to tease me again. Her steps were soft, her long hair slightly tousled like she'd been tossing in bed, and for once... she didn't smirk. She just looked at me with those massive red eyes — but they weren't glowing. Not menacing. Not seductive.

Just... big. And a little glassy.

"Babe…" Her voice cracked. "I'm starving."

I blinked from where I was curled up in bed, half reading, half dozing.

She stood at the edge of my bed like a child asking her mom for food in the middle of the night. Her lips were slightly pouted, her hands clasped behind her back, and her eyes — that usual terrifying abyss of chaos — were soft. Vulnerable.

It almost scared me more.

"You… what?"

"I'm hungry," she repeated. "And not for pizza."

My blood ran cold. I closed the book and sat up slowly. "Like… demon hungry?"

She gave me the faintest nod.

"I've been good, haven't I?" she said, trying to smile. "I haven't hurt anyone. Haven't taken anything. I'm trying, Eli. I really am."

"…What happens if you don't eat?"

Her lips pressed tight. She didn't answer that one.

Instead, she sat on my bed — knees tucked beneath her, her body small and deceptively harmless in an oversized t-shirt. Mine. She picked at her sleeve nervously.

"I wouldn't ask if I had another option," she whispered. "You're the only one I want. The only one I'd ever… you know."

I just stared.

"You mean like, energy? Life force or something?"

"Something like that," she mumbled. "It's… complicated."

"And how exactly would you get that energy?"

She looked up at me, face flushing, red eyes hopeful. "Sex."

I choked. "What?"

"Sex." She nodded slowly. "I promise it's safe. For you. And I swear I'll explain everything after. I just… I really need this."

"You're not even a succubus, you're the Queen of Hell. Don't you, like… rule over demons? You shouldn't need—"

> "Please."

One word. Whiny, sweet and desperate.

My defenses crumbled.

She wasn't demanding this time. She wasn't toying with me or luring me into some devilish trap.

She was asking.

I ran a hand through my hair. "Am I gonna die?"

She giggled. "No. I won't even let you pass out. You'll be fine. I swear. I'd never hurt you." Her voice softened more. "Not even if you begged me to."

She crawled into my lap.

And I gave in.

---

We didn't stop at one round. Not even close.

By the third time, I was lightheaded — her hips still moving like she was absorbing more than just pleasure. Her eyes were glowing now. Not red — a strange mix of violet and gold.

She gasped as I finished again, then collapsed beside me, hair clinging to her neck, breathing shallow and satisfied.

"…You okay?" I asked between gulps of air.

She turned, eyes dreamy, the glow fading slowly. "Mmhm. You taste like lightning."

I didn't want to know what that meant.

"You said you'd explain."

She blinked. "Explain what?"

I stared. "Lila. You said you'd explain everything after."

She tilted her head.

Then smiled.

"That's cute," she whispered. "But haven't you ever been told…" She leaned close, voice a devilish murmur, "Never trust a demon, sweetheart?"

I tried to sit up. "Lila—"

She silenced me with a slow, sticky kiss and an almost innocent, "Good night, babe."

And just like that, she rolled over, curled up beside me, and fell asleep — that same satisfied little grin plastered on her flushed face.

And me?

Still wondering if I was in love… or in serious, serious trouble.
