Limitless Evolution: I Have Infinite Potential.

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Hong Qianye's Greed

"Master's snacks are so tasty!"

Bai Xiaoxi was still lost in the deliciousness of the feed when she suddenly blinked, realizing something had changed. Her cultivation level had jumped again.

It was one of those "eat now, skyrocket later" kind of moments.

"Wait—how did the mouse break through again?" she muttered, eyes wide with confusion, cheeks puffed like a curious hamster.

Ye Junlin raised a brow. Even he was a little surprised. He hadn't expected a bag of premium-grade pet food to have such a ridiculous effect.

From the early Transformation Stage to early Great Ascension in one sitting?

If she ate a few more bags, wouldn't she just ascend straight into the Immortal Realm?

"Senior Bai, what just happened…?" Li Wujie, deep in his sword practice, nearly dropped his blade when he noticed her aura.

"It's those snacks!" Hong Qianye narrowed his eyes at the glowing packaging in Bai Xiaoxi's hand, like a storm cloud brewing in his gaze.

"I seriously want to know what kind of freakish treasures Ye Junlin is hiding. Where does he even get this stuff?"

Qianye's heart was pounding. If he weren't sure he'd lose in a head-on fight, he might've already tried to steal everything Junlin had.

"Xiaoxi, want some more?" Ye Junlin asked casually.

Her eyes sparkled. "Yes, yes! Mouse wants more!"

Grinning, Ye Junlin tossed her four more bags.

Seeing that small mountain of glowing pet food, Bai Xiaoxi gasped in delight. She ripped open the first bag, inhaled the sweet aroma, and then started stuffing her face like a starved squirrel.

Ye Junlin observed closely. By the time she finished the third bag, her cultivation barely advanced into the late stage. Clearly, the more she progressed, the less impact the feed had.

"Figures," Ye Junlin mused. "No more free rides after the first few steps."

Still, it didn't bother him—it was just pet food, after all.

Then he pulled out five bags of premium-grade feed and turned to the massive creature lounging nearby.

"Ah Kun, you've been working hard. Here, have some snacks."

Whoosh!

The five bags floated over in a slow arc, shimmering as they reached Kunpeng's enormous beak.

It devoured them in one gulp.

Logically, that amount wouldn't even fill the gap between its teeth. But system-rewarded feed didn't work like ordinary food. It was energy, compressed and refined, instantly absorbed by Kunpeng's ancient divine bloodline.

A radiant blue light burst from its body.

In the blink of an eye, Kunpeng's cultivation surged from early Great Ascension all the way to the peak.

It let out a joyful, thunderous cry, sending waves of affection to Ye Junlin like a puppy getting a treat from its owner.

"...What the hell?" Li Wujie was flabbergasted. His sword technique almost collapsed on the spot.

Just some glowing snacks and the giant beast broke through like it was grinding in a game?

"Master really is unfathomable," he muttered, looking at Ye Junlin with renewed reverence.

Meanwhile, Hong Qianye's expression twisted. Shock, envy, and frustration all warred across his face.

Is this even fair? he thought bitterly. There's no justice in the world. What happened to working hard for every breakthrough?

He crossed his arms and huffed inwardly, There's definitely a catch. Something this absurd has to come with side effects. I wouldn't touch that stuff even if someone begged me!

But despite that thought, his eyes remained locked on the snack bag in Bai Xiaoxi's arms.

Bai Xiaoxi, unaware of the growing tension, had stopped gobbling and started savoring each glowing morsel, letting the taste linger as she munched happily.

Hong Qianye slipped behind a nearby phoenix tree and sent a sound transmission.

"Xiaoxi, come here a moment."

Bai Xiaoxi blinked and turned toward the tree. Her ears twitched.

"Is Senior Hong calling the mouse?" she whispered, surprised and a little excited.

He usually brushed her off or ignored her attempts to talk. But now, he was calling her over himself?

Maybe he's finally acknowledging me!

She scurried over, short legs pumping, and stood before him with bright eyes. "Senior Hong! What can the mouse do for you?"

Looking at her silly, eager expression, Hong Qianye almost laughed aloud.

"This dumb mouse," he thought, shaking his head.

He cleared his throat and said seriously, "I'm only saying this for your own good: what Master gave you might be laced with toxins."

"Huh?!"

Bai Xiaoxi froze, her ears drooping. "No way! Master would never hurt the mouse. And I feel totally fine... stronger, even!"

Hong Qianye folded his arms. "Tch. You're too naïve. Everything has a cost. Even normal pills leave residues. That's why real cultivators have to refine their foundations constantly. Relying on shortcuts can destroy your base."

He pointed at her snack. "That stuff might help you break through now, but what if it's building up poison? You wouldn't even know until it's too late. It's slow suicide if you keep eating it."

Bai Xiaoxi looked at her glowing snack bag, then back at him, hesitant. "But… the mouse really feels fine. No pain, no weird side effects. Maybe you're just overthinking, Senior Hong…"

To prove it, Hong Qianye placed a hand on her head and closed his eyes.

His spiritual sense flowed through her body—and his eyes immediately shot open.

Her meridians were perfectly clear. Her foundation was not only stable, it was stronger than before. Her Spiritual Energy was pure, even better than what most top-tier pills could produce.

This wasn't fake.

There were no side effects. Not even a trace of residue.

It was… perfect.

For a long second, Hong Qianye was silent.

Then his gaze slowly dropped to the snack bag in her hands.

His pupils shrank. Greed glinted in his eyes.

Bai Xiaoxi felt a shiver and instinctively hugged the bag tighter.

"Senior Hong... if there's nothing else, the mouse will go now—"

"Leave the snacks."

Qianye's voice dropped an octave. His aura pressed down like a falling mountain.

Bai Xiaoxi clutched the bag tighter. "But... the mouse hasn't had enough…"

"I'm your senior. Show some respect. Hand it over."

"But Master gave this to me—"

Before she could finish, Qianye's expression darkened. Patience gone, he reached out with a sharp grin and a spark of malice in his eyes.

"Give it to me."
