Life Of A Nobody - as a Villain

Amy watched in annoyance as she kept following the figures of the friendly duo. She tried leaving and sightseeing this new world around her, but it was like she was tethered to something, and despite her best, she couldn't escape.

Whenever she flew too far she'd be pulled back instantly in front of her doppleganger.

"Fuck." She couldn't help but curse as her 'hundredth' attempt to escape ended in a failure too.

It was like being forced to watch a bad reality show.

(Kinda like me who's suffering through my fam's new big boss addiction. Why am I being forced to eat dinner while watching 10 grown up successfully famous and rich people fight over who gets to use kitchen first. Like bitch calm the fuck down and step away from the camera.)

Amy sighed while listening to their conversation with a bored expression. At first she was curious to learn more about her doppleganger, but the more she watched, the more creepy she felt.

Cause the similarities between them didn't just end with their appearance… be it their smiles, the way they talked -walked -or ate, even the way their minds worked.. Everything about them was exactly the same.

And that made her uneasy.

"Who are you?" Amy whispered, her voice barely above her breath. She tried to feel her energy to leave this place, to escape, before she saw something she'd regret, but to no avail.

The damned goddess may be petty, but she was perfect in her magic.

"So how'd you like the party? Was it good, bad, or too loud?"

"It was perfect. The decoration however, I could've done better." Ria(the doppelganger) replied.

"It was the pink carpet, wasn't it." The other girl responded and then clicked her tongue, "I told him to buy a red one. But noo, he had to buy everything from one shop and they didn't have the color, so he just told them to pack anything at random. And _ do you know how much it cost..that shopkeeper literally looted him."

"And when I told him to return it, or buy another one, he just shrugged his shoulders and started acting sleepy. Seriously, the man only has two moods, love and lazy _ he's hopeless."

"Yupp, that's my brother, alright." Ria nodded in acknowledgement.

"And you know what he did last week, we two, and xxx and yyy went out together to a water park, but then.. Wait, you haven't met xxx and yyy right? xxx (Nashi) is my childhood friend, practically family. We grew up together. He's the only child for the men who picked me up and raised me. And yyy (Kajal) is another pretty girl. She's in the same semester as us, so he knew her way before me."

"Also it's weird that both of them seem more close to him than me, despite one being my childhood friend and another ex-roommate. Sometimes it makes me feel like the fourth wheel."

The girlfriend started ranting like a nonstop train and kept jumping from one point to another, _ yet despite all her complaints, there was no trace of anger, or annoyance on her face, only a charming smile. Like she wasn't remembering things which made her annoyed, but only happy times.

"And don't even get me started on how clueless he is about the needs for girls. Explaining to him about the difference between a pad which stops blood and one which stops potty cost me one long long hour of debate. Men, seriously…"

Ria watched from the sidelines, nodding and humming in response every now and then, before smiling brightly even more. Feeling happy for her brother.

"You're really nice." She said while wiping her mouth after a burp. Her flat tummy feeling full.

"Cause I bought your favorite flavor?" The girl asked in confusion.

"Maybe." Ria replied teasingly.

"Well, ???(shiva) literally gave me a list of things to do and to avoid, if I want to impress you, so…credits not all mine." The other girl replied.

"Anyway you put in the effort to remember it.. I suppose, not many would."

"Hmm."

"I still can't believe my brother was the one who made the first move though, he's so_."

"Different around me.." The other girl finished her sentence with a smile, "Trust me, I get that a lot."

"Heh, yeah, that too, but _ I was gonna say happy, he's happy around you." Ria spoke, turning thoughtful, "I've never seen him so happy before. Never.. Nowadays there's this infectious smile on his face now, a light in his eyes _it's I don't know, maybe it's the fever of first love, or maybe it's you. ___but I know that he's enjoying it, so I'll really hate it if you break his heart, and hurt him."

"I won't." The other girl replied instantly, her voice turning serious in response. "I promise."

"You better, or I'll hate you forever." Ria said jokingly while crossing the road.

"So how long has it been since you started living together?" She asked, colors of curiosity dripping from her face. Her ears perked up like a cat, ready to hear every piece of gossip. "Did he propose this too?"

"No, live in was my idea." The girl (Shweta) said and then explained, "Ever since he proposed to me, our relationship had been in a race, it never stopped or slowed down at all. Dinner, dates, no drama _ it was all so_ smooth." The girl spoke with a nostalgic smile on her face, "And since everything was going so perfect, I kinda got greedy and wanted him even more."

"Huh, wow.That sounds way less romantic than what my brother said." Ria spoke remembering the exaggerated lies her brother had told her.

"Is it? Anyway the slow burn stuff is for people who don't click, we did on the first meet so…"

"And here I thought, my brother was the cheesy one."

"Why? What'd he say?" The girl asked curiously.

"He said you were the magnet to his iron heart." Ria spoke in a pretend serious tone before bursting in laughter along with the other girl.

Amy watched her doppelganger gossip about the other girl's love story and couldn't help but curse Apate for this stupid torture scenario.

'What kind of shitshow editing is this where it's not curses but names which get beeped out.' Amy cursed for this sensor board scene which not only blurred photos and faces, but also beeped at names.

"Styx is called the river of crossing, the bridge between worlds connecting two different phases of life - Birth and death. So is this one of my past lives? But what is that bitch trying to do by showing me this?"

"She said she'll wipe my slate clean and turn me into her slave. _and then this happened. - According to myths, the souls which crossed Styx forget their mortal life and move on to get their karma sorted and then start a new life. But no one knows how the forgettence happens."

"How does one leave their emotions and attachments behind and become empty again?"

Amy didn't know how close to the truth she was, how accurate the guesses hidden behind the veil of fog forming in her mind were becoming _ if she kept going, she would've figured things out soon, but something happened just then, something which pulled her attention away.

"We've been busy talking for so long that I actually forgot to pick his ice cream." The girl said as she slapped her forehead.

"He doesn't like it much anyway. Leave him." Ria replied, not worrying about it.

"No way. I tricked him to do dishes, and clean out the decorations, can't fool him again." The other girl said and turned around to leave, despite Ria's excuses. "You wait here, I'll just come back in a minute."

Ria watched her turn around and leave, and then glanced at her phone, which kept vibrating with the string of nonstop messages.

{Hey, where's she taking you?}

{Don't ask her to drive rashly, okay.}

{She's a little weird sometimes so ignore it and don't be angry with her.}

{Ohhh and don't ask her about her adoptive family. She doesn't like to talk about them.}

{Or her childhood.}

{When are you coming back, it's been over an hour?}

{Dad called just now, I lied that you were asleep, so don't answer if he calls in first ring, kkk}

{I know my girl's awesome, and your future sister in law, but you can't just hog her, I'm still waiting you know.}

Ria read the dozens of messages with a smile and couldn't help but shake her head, before replying back.

{Geez, brother. Restless much.🤨 also I haven't given my permission yet, so her role's not fixed yet.}
