Jujutsu Kaisen: Wheel Of Time

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Time Arrow

Chapter 30: Time Arrow

After leading the Cursed Spirit away from that place filled with fear, the bad news was that Kamihara Hajime had already moved outside the barrier. The barrier set up here was mainly for ordinary people and did not significantly restrict Spellcasters.

Therefore, when the Cursed Spirit was led outside, it inevitably broke through a section of the barrier on that side. It seemed it wouldn't be long before it collapsed.

The silver lining was that the battlefield Kamihara Hajime chose was surrounded by wilderness and forest, with no roads in sight, making it highly unlikely for ordinary people to witness the events.

"Absorbing fear is quite strong, but unfortunately, there's no fear here for you to convert. If you absorbed anger... never mind, no matter what, you're dead today. Not even Jesus can save you, I said so..."

Kamihara Hajime's right hand made a grasping motion in the air, and pale blue Cursed Energy surged out, condensing in his palm. In an instant, it formed a constantly twisting short spear, and its originally blue light gradually shifted towards white.

At first glance, it looked like a mass of flowing clouds or mist held in Kamihara Hajime's hand, constantly moving.

This move was another experiment by Kamihara Hajime with his Technique. If Cursed Energy released with Technique acceleration merely made it difficult to block, its actual power still depended on the Cursed Energy he output.

So what if he directly "fired" his Technique to hit the enemy? Of course, not by applying the Technique to the enemy to make them enter a state of time acceleration.

While that could, to some extent, achieve the effect of harming the enemy, because Techniques applied to other entities have side effects.

And since Kamihara Hajime mastered Technique Reversal, the side effects of him accelerating his own time with his Technique were neutralized, which is why he didn't show signs of aging far beyond his peers.

Accelerating an enemy, to some extent, is accelerating the consumption of their lifespan, but with Kamihara Hajime's current ability, he cannot yet use it as an effective offensive method.

So Kamihara Hajime changed his idea: what if he combined attack and Technique, so that when hitting an enemy and causing damage, he could only accelerate the spread of damage or the collapse of the enemy's body?

This indirect method of application was something Kamihara Hajime pondered for a long time and even discussed with Gojo-sensei, and with the help of his Six Eyes, he saved a lot of trouble.

However, Kamihara Hajime was still not proficient, so its form was somewhat unstable, but with more practice, he should become skilled.

Then, Kamihara Hajime held the Cursed Energy-condensed short spear in a throwing stance, and then he himself seemed to leap through a scene; the short spear in his hand crossed the shackles of time, causing the dice Cursed Spirit's body to stumble.

Large chunks of flesh were shattered and splattered, falling to the ground in a dry, decaying state. This attack caused more damage than Kamihara Hajime had imagined; the large areas of flesh near the Cursed Spirit's wound were already on the verge of "death."

Logically, with the Cursed Energy this Cursed Spirit had just replenished, this injury should have started to heal, but the reality was not so. In its panic, the nearly one-meter-long wound merely showed a slight squirming of flesh. If it were just an external injury, it would be fine; for a Cursed Spirit, as long as it isn't annihilated on the spot, it can always fully restore its body later with its inhuman recovery ability.

But besides the wounds on its body, there was also an alien Cursed Energy invading its body and wreaking havoc, as if a cornerstone had been pulled out from the bottom of a block tower. The chain reaction simply skipped the process and directly presented the result.

Its body didn't react at all; once the destruction began, it would only slide towards the abyss of ruin. Normally, the body's various safety measures and the consciousness's manipulation would curb this trend, but now, only the destructive progress was unstoppable, and by the time its body "reacted," the momentum of destruction had already caused significant damage and then stopped due to its own exhaustion.

Kamihara Hajime watched the somewhat frenzied Cursed Spirit's body begin to swell and crack again. Through the cracks, he could vaguely see the eyes squeezed inside, and then black beams of light continuously shot towards Kamihara Hajime.

He raised his hand to block the first ray, which consumed a large amount of Kamihara Hajime's Cursed Energy. He flashed, using the stirred-up smoke to conceal himself, then re-condensed Cursed Energy and fused his Technique with it.

As Kamihara Hajime watched this attack hit the Cursed Spirit again, he thought to himself: this move isn't bad. In a sense, it's applying a Technique to a specific, separately defined concept or entity, achieving the effect of only causing negative impacts on the enemy.

Let's give it a name… let's call it "Time Arrow." As for why not a spear, it doesn't really matter. Kamihara Hajime can also condense it into the shape of an arrow. Blades or other shapes are not as effective, and whether Cursed Energy emission can achieve such precise shaping is still unknown.

Then Kamihara Hajime pointed his left hand forward, and his right arm was in a drawing-a-bowstring posture. After condensing three slender arrows, with a thought, these three parallel arrows simultaneously plunged into the Cursed Spirit's flesh.

Before they could explode, two more waves of attacks arrived instantly, and the light beams emitted by the interrupted Cursed Spirit immediately scattered chaotically into the air.

Unable to grasp the attack trajectory, the Cursed Spirit could only attack everything around it indiscriminately, but Kamihara Hajime's attacks often made it impossible for him to have any accuracy.

Several waves of "Time Arrow" had already riddled its body, and it couldn't draw fear power here. Every time it tried to escape, it was futile.

Kamihara Hajime wielded his still surging Cursed Energy, but his mind was extremely fatigued, and the bloodstains on his face were indistinguishable between his own and the Cursed Spirit's.

"It's time to end it..."

Looking at the Cursed Spirit with three limb-like arms broken, Kamihara Hajime once again spun the Time Wheel. Consecutive punches smashed into the Cursed Spirit's exposed eye cluster due to its shattered body, feeling like crushing a jar of grapes.

Amidst the flashing black light and the crisp sensation accompanied by the splattering of fluids, the Cursed Spirit finally gradually ceased its howling.

Its severely damaged body, almost unrecognizable, fell to the ground and turned to dust. Only after confirming its exorcism did Kamihara Hajime finally let out a sigh of relief.

The battle process was actually very short, and Kamihara Hajime's most serious injury was probably when he tried to reverse the effects on the victims swallowed by the Cursed Spirit earlier; one of them slightly exceeded his limit, which caused some injury, followed by the discomfort of repeatedly activating Technique Reversal to familiarize himself with new moves.

Looking back, the barrier there had almost dissipated. Kamihara Hajime, with sufficient Cursed Energy, returned directly to the main building under the effect of his Technique. The victims had been released, their faces filled with a mixture of apprehension, the joy of imminent escape, and an unbelievable sense of unreality.

Kamihara Hajime looked at these people, who resembled a living painting, and did not linger. He went straight to the top floor and indeed found Nanami Kento and a dozen bound individuals, twelve males and one female in total.

Kamihara Hajime, having released his Technique, suddenly appeared in the room. Several people facing the door were about to cry out in surprise. Nanami Kento also sensed someone behind him and cautiously turned, knife in hand, to defend himself. Only upon seeing Kamihara Hajime did he lower his weapon.

"Have you already dealt with that Cursed Spirit? I was just about to go support you."

Kamihara Hajime nodded: "It has been exorcised. My Technique is related to speed, you see. Thank you for your concern, Nanami-senpai."

Nanami Kento's eyes behind his goggles were full of admiration: "Well done. With this mission, your promotion to First Grade Sorcerer should be secure."

Kamihara Hajime showed no joy, instead pointing to the bound scoundrels: "Senpai, how will these people be dealt with?"

Nanami Kento recalled the horrific scenes he had witnessed earlier. He loosened his tie, was silent for a moment, and then said: "After being arrested by the Police, I expect evidence of their crimes will be found. The main perpetrators might be sentenced to death, and the others will depend on the court's judgment."

Looking at Kamihara Hajime, whose expression was somewhat cold, the dark brown bloodstains on his face made him look like a killer who had just finished a crime.

Nanami Kento said with a hint of seriousness: "Someone will judge them, Hajime, you absolutely cannot kill them..." What he didn't say was that if Kamihara Hajime had acted, and the residual Cursed Energy was identified, those conservatives would not let it go.

After all, Kamihara Hajime was an undeniable member of the Gojo Satoru faction, and those who clung to regulations would pounce like hyenas.

Kamihara Hajime smiled: "Nanami-senpai, of course I know. I'm not that foolish. Let's take them out first, then notify the Police."

Kamihara Hajime stepped forward, tied the ropes binding them together, then grabbed one end and walked towards the stairs outside.

He watched as the dozen or so people were pulled down to the ground, then dragged across the floor by Kamihara Hajime's force. They occasionally collided with the steps, causing their heads to bleed. They tried to stand up, but the force wouldn't give them a chance; he only cared about going downstairs.

They reached the ground floor lobby, where the victims previously released by Nanami Kento were now gathered. Earlier, they had tried to escape but were horrified to find themselves inexplicably blocked by an invisible wall, after which they returned to the lobby.

Amidst a few weak, painful wails, Kamihara Hajime walked down the stairs, pulling the rope, with over a dozen rather miserable-looking people trailing behind him.

Upon seeing their appearance, whispers immediately erupted in the lobby. Kamihara Hajime pulled these people to near the center, then dropped the rope and stretched. He turned to Nanami Kento and said: "Senpai, it's too dirty here. Let's wait outside. Our mission is complete, isn't it? It has nothing to do with us anymore, right?"

Nanami Kento's deep gaze swept over the crowd, whose fear and surprise had now turned into surging anger. He said nothing more, then stepped to follow Kamihara Hajime: "That's right, it's quitting time. Let's go. I already notified the Police; they should be here in about three minutes."

The two walked out of the main door amidst the terrified cries for help from the dozen or so bound people behind them. Kamihara Hajime casually closed the door, casting aside the screams, and then heard Nanami Kento say: "Although we don't have direct responsibility, I expect it will be troublesome..."

"It doesn't matter. Let Gojo-sensei worry about it later. I'm a bit hungry, Nanami-senpai. Shall we go eat and have a drink..."

"No, you're not an adult yet. You can only have juice."
