Chapter 109: A War Declared - Chapter 110
"A War "Declared"—Chapter 110
Geto glanced over his shoulder toward Gojo, but he didn't move his arm from Ren's shoulder.
"I see," he said, his voice as calm as ever, "so they're under your care. I heard about the excellent first-years…"
His eyes drifted, slow and deliberate.
They landed on Panda.
"An abrupt-mutation-cursed corpse."
Then he looked at Inumaki.
"A cursed speech user descendant."
His gaze fell back to Ren.
"A genius special grade cursed human…"
There was a brief silence.
And then Geto's mouth twisted into a smile—sharp and cold.
"…And the Zen'in family's failure."
Maki tensed instantly.
"Why you—" she started, her voice full of heat, stepping forward—
But she was cut off.
Geto's tone sharpened, though his face remained neutral.
"Careful what you say now. I don't need a monkey like you in my world."
And then—slap.
Ren's hand rose without hesitation and slapped Geto's arm off his shoulder.
The sound was clean. Not hard. Not violent. Just… final.
Ren spoke calmly, evenly.
"I don't care about what you are talking about, but I'm not going to help someone who talks shit to my friends."
Geto took a single step back, unfazed, and offered a faint bow of the head.
"Oh, my apologies. I didn't intend to upset you."
The moment felt like the eye of a storm. Quiet. Waiting.
Then, a blur of white stepped between them.
Gojo.
"So," he said, coolly, "why did you come here?"
Geto smiled again—bright, too bright—and spoke as if reading from a grand stage.
"To declare WAR on all those gathered here!"
His voice rose, hands outstretched to the crowd.
"Listen up! This November 30! At sundown—the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons will commence!!!"
Sorcerers stiffened across the field. Gojo didn't blink.
"This will take place at the Crucible for Curses in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and at Jujutsu's sacred land, Kyoto!! I will release a thousand curses at each location!"
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
"Of course… they'll be ordered to massacre. If you want to avoid this impending hell, put your lives on the line and fight!"
Geto threw his hands up in the air, shouting:
"Let's curse each other to our hearts' content!"
The announcement rang through the air like thunder.
And then—
"Ahhh, master, get to the store! It's closing soon!!" The girl with the phone yelled in a rush, waving her hands.
Geto paused mid-declaration.
His crazed grin faded as he turned around and glanced back.
"Ah… sorry, Satoru. The girls want to try the crepe shop on Takeshita Street. I'll be on my way."
Gojo tilted his head, not smiling.
"Leaving? Not on my watch."
Geto's eyes darkened slightly, though his tone stayed casual.
"Don't try it..."
And then he raised one hand.
From the sky, cursed energy surged.
A massive curse materialized above them—then another. And another. A small swarm of curses, all grade 1 or lower, poured from above like falling shadows. Their howls split the air.
Geto didn't look back.
He simply walked toward the giant bird curse. The others—his allies—had already stepped inside its enormous mouth without a word.
The massive beak began to close.
Geto reached up, grabbing hold of the bird's thick leg.
He turned once more, speaking one last time to the crowd below.
"You precious students are all within my range…"
He raised a hand in farewell.
"Well then, everyone—see you on the battlefield."
Gojo's cursed energy exploded.
With a burst of brilliant blue, he shattered a cyclops-like curse that had lunged at him midair. The fragments exploded like broken glass.
But it wasn't enough.
The bird was already rising, wings beating hard against the sky, lifting Geto and his group away in a swirl of cursed energy and fading noise.
He waved one last time as the bird soared.
Still smiling.
And below—
Ren, Maki, Panda, and the others moved fast. The curses that remained were no real threat. The air filled with flying limbs and shredded cursed bodies as the sorcerers dealt with them in seconds.
But it meant nothing.
They were decoys.
They had been played.
And so, the students were ordered back. Gojo gave a quiet nod, and one by one, the crowd of reinforcements dispersed. Some stayed to investigate; others left with their teams.
The air was still again.
Back in the dorm, Ren sat on his bed.
His jacket was still half off his shoulders, his hands resting on his knees.
He stared forward, silent.
'Hmm. Everything is going as it should…'
He leaned back slightly, resting his head against the wall.
'But… the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons actually happened on December 24… in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga and anime. I know this for sure.'
His eyes narrowed.
'But it happened one month early…'
His thoughts tightened.
'What happened? What changed the timeline? What made Geto start his war a month early…?'
