Chapter 108: “The Curtain Tears Early” - Chapter 109
"The Curtain Tears Early" - Chapter 109
Geto was here.
He stood calmly, robes drifting slightly with the breeze, black hair pulled into a half-tied bun while the rest fell neatly over his back. His expression carried no hostility—just a still confidence, like he belonged here.
And he spoke in a calm tone.
"Still the same as ever."
Behind him, one of the girls who had jumped out of the massive bird curse turned her attention to the group gathered at the school gates. Her eyes landed on Panda, and a grin lit up her face as she lifted her phone lazily.
"Wow! It's a panda, so cute!!"
Panda frowned. "Who are you?"
Maki stepped forward, arms crossed.
"Get out of here before the Wild Beast of Tokyo High knocks you out!"
Her tone was dry and sarcastic, clearly poking fun at Ren's nickname more than actually warning the intruders. Ren didn't react. He kept his eyes forward, locked onto Geto like he was tracking a chemical reaction—not yet dangerous, but highly unstable.
Inumaki added simply, "Kelp!!"
And then—Geto moved.
Before anyone else noticed, before even a curse could whisper through the air, he was standing directly in front of Ren.
His hand was already out.
A handshake.
"Nice to meet you, Sato. I'm Suguru Geto."
Ren blinked, looking down at their joined hands. It was a warm shake. Too warm. It was the kind of friendly pressure you'd expect from someone selling something—almost like a scammer.
"Oh. Nice to meet you too," Ren said aloud.
But inside, his thoughts were sharp and rushing.
'That was fast; I could barely even notice him move, but that was only because I had my eyes on him…'
Behind him, the others were still catching up.
In the eyes of Inumaki, Maki, and Panda, Geto had been standing by the bird curse—and then suddenly appeared beside Ren.
'So fast!!'
There wasn't even a ripple of cursed energy. Just an impossible step forward, like time skipped.
Geto kept speaking.
"You have quite the fantastic power. I think great power should be used for great endeavors... Do you see anything wrong with the world today? Jujutsu sorcerers are forced to work in the shadows to protect society."
Ren blinked once, still calm, but thinking quickly.
'There's no way he is really going to tell me that speech now…'
But he was.
Geto moved again, but this time just threw a friendly arm over Ren's shoulder, his tone sliding into something more casual—conspiratorial, even.
"It's deplorable; it's a paradox in which the strong must submit to the weak, you see? So I'd like your help."
Ren stayed completely still.
He answered evenly.
"With what?"
And Geto didn't hesitate. He spoke with the same composed tone, describing his intent clearly.
He talked about killing all the normal humans in the world—remaking it, leaving only sorcerers behind. No more hiding. No more servitude. Just cursed energy, dominance, and purity.
While he spoke, Ren's thoughts moved faster.
'Ok, so far nothing has changed; his speech is still the same, the tone is still the same… But still, why did he show up weeks early?'
It didn't make sense.
The Geto he knew from the manga should still be gathering forces, laying groundwork. Not… this. Not yet.
Maki and Panda stood a few steps behind, not interrupting, but tense.
Inumaki watched with narrowed eyes, saying nothing more.
They all wondered the same thing:
'What the hell is he talking about…?'
Then—
"Now, now, don't be spouting crazy talk to my students…"
A relaxed voice. Dry, faintly amused. It echoed from the school gates.
Geto turned slightly, still calm.
It was Gojo Satoru.
And Geto spoke in a cheerful tone.
"Satoru! It's been so long!"
Gojo walked closer, still casual, but his eyes weren't smiling.
"Step away from them… Suguru."
Behind him, the field had already begun to fill.
Grade 1 sorcerers, second years, and staff—multiple teams arriving from all sides, summoned by the abnormal cursed energy and the obvious presence of someone too dangerous to ignore.
There was Mei Mei, axe resting on her shoulder as she arrived from the eastern path. Her eyes narrowed the moment she saw who Geto was standing beside.
Ren.
She took a step forward, tension flashing across her face.
She almost ran toward them.
But Ren looked at her.
Just one look.
Measured. Calm. A silent message:
Don't.
Mei Mei exhaled and held herself back. She stopped walking. But her fingers curled a little tighter around her ax handle.
More sorcerers arrived.
Among them—Yaga, standing firm near the front line.
There were even support squads in formation behind the front ranks, spread like chess pieces ready to be called.
Ren scanned the gathering.
'Wow, there are more people gathered here than I thought there would be…'
And then his thoughts clicked again.
'But again, Japan's 3 of 4 special grades are in one place… me, Gojo, and Geto…'
Ren's posture didn't change. His breath was steady.
He looked past Geto's shoulder, at the field full of strength and tension.
'There were also other grade 1s here… Hmm… Yaga…'
And then, quietly, calmly, Ren thought:
'Great thing I did not try to raid the cursed warehouse…'
