Chapter 403: The Double Fish
Chapter 403: The Double Fish
Inside the Joyful Union Sect, Zhao Ningzhi lay sprawled out on her bed, bored out of her mind as she stared at the teleportation array.
Suddenly, the array lit up and Zhao Ningzhi quickly sat up, her face lighting up with joy. “That brat is finally back!”
But soon, she noticed that something was off. The array was spinning faster and faster.
Oh no, it’s overloading!
How many people has that boy brought with him?
She couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret for her precious Array.
When he returns, I’ll make sure to teach him a lesson. I won’t let him off the hook until he’s completely drained.
Meanwhile, Lin Fengmian held Liu Mei and Chen Qingyan tightly in his arms with a faint smile on his lips. “Chen Qingyan, you’ve learned to be naughty as well.”
“We said we’d go together, but you both tried to deceive me. It seems that the prettier a woman is, the less you can trust her.”
Chen Qingyan struggled but couldn’t break free. She urged, “Let go quickly! If you don’t, none of us will survive.”
Lin Fengmian shook his head. “No way. You two just stay here!”
As the time approached, he was about to let go of the two women and make a break for it himself.
But to his surprise, both of his hands holding the women were suddenly tightly gripped by two small hands.
Liu Mei’s eyes curved into a smile as she pressed his hand against her chest. “Little rascal, you like to touch me, don’t you? Come on, touch me!”
Chen Qingyan remained silent but also held his hand firmly, her eyes conveying her unspoken message: either let her go or no one leaves.
Lin Fengmian was stunned. The tearing sensation grew stronger, and the array began to collapse, the space around them becoming unstable.
He sighed in resignation, gritting his teeth. “Fine! Let’s do this together, Senior Sisters. I have a plan.”
With that, he obediently squeezed Liu Mei’s soft, warm body to calm his nerves.
At such a tense moment, only her warmth could give him the courage to proceed.
Liu Mei’s face flushed slightly and she gave him a coquettish look, but didn’t say anything more.
At that moment, the Double Fish Pendant lit up first, followed by the small teleportation talisman, enveloping the three of them in a spatial force.
But at that moment, the entrance to the main tomb was shattered, sending debris flying everywhere.
A gaunt figure, like a vengeful ghost, shot out, a skeletal claw reaching for the trio.
“Boy, where do you think you’re going?”
The teleportation array was disrupted by the claw, and the entire space twisted violently.
With a loud bang, Lin Fengmian and the two women instantly disappeared, the array completely destroyed as debris flew everywhere.
Intense spatial fluctuations spread, and the surrounding area was torn apart by chaotic spatial currents, causing the tomb to collapse.
Jin Ren closed his eyes, carefully sensing the soul pursuit mark left by the Thousand Mile Soul Pursuit.
Lin Fengmian had thought that he had killed the vengeful spirits, but he didn’t realize that the moment they touched him, they left Soul Pursuit marks on him.
After a moment, Jin Ren smiled. He couldn’t find any trace of the soul pursuit mark. Either the three of them were dead, or they had left his sensing range.
It seemed that although the teleportation had started, it had deviated from its intended path, sending them into the chaotic spatial currents.
With their strength, there was no way they could survive the spatial turbulence.
Jin Ren muttered to himself, “I’ll have to return and ask my master to check again, just to be sure there are no survivors”.
In the Joyful Union Sect, Zhao Ningzhi’s face turned pale as she stared at the now darkened array.
Did the boy escape?
Or had something happened to him?
She wanted to go and check, but since the array had just been used, it would take a day to recharge.
She had no way to use the teleportation array to go there, and if she left, it would expose the fact that Lin Fengmian was missing.
At that moment, a soul-shaking talisman arrived from outside, signaling her disciple’s urgent call.
Zhao Ningzhi let out a series of heavy breaths as she asked, “Yueyin, hmm~ what is it?”
“Master, the sect leader has requested that you bring over Senior Brother Lin.” The disciple replied.
Zhao Ningzhi’s voice grew louder, her tone lazy and intermittent.
“I’m not finished yet, let’s talk tomorrow. Hmm~ Nephew Lin is so amazing, harder please.”
After speaking, she activated the soundproofing array again, pacing anxiously within the cave.
This is bad!
If I lose this boy, my senior sisters will definitely kill me!
Zhao Ningzhi wanted to sneak out and look for Lin Fengmian, but she was worried that if she left the Joyful Union Sect, the sect might be vulnerable to attack.
After much deliberation, she decided to wait one more day.
If the boy didn’t return by then, she would have to confess and face the consequences.
Meanwhile, Lin Fengmian and the two women were swept into the chaotic spatial turbulence, a tearing force enveloping them.
The small teleportation talisman in his hand held on for a while before exploding, causing the three of them to groan in pain and turn pale.
Just when they thought their fate was sealed, a bright light suddenly erupted from Lin Fengmian’s body.
A red and a blue carp spirit emerged from his chest, swiftly circling around the three of them.
The two massive carp spirits pushed back the chaotic currents, creating a safe space for the trio and ensuring their safety.
At the same time, Lin Fengmian’s Demon Emperor Technique began to operate on its own, channeling an endless stream of spiritual energy into the two carp spirits to sustain them.
Overjoyed, Lin Fengmian let out a long sigh of relief. “Great! I won the bet!”
Earlier, when using the teleportation array, he had noticed that the Double Fish Pendant had similar abilities to the large teleportation talisman.
Therefore, Lin Fengmian believed that the Double Fish Pendant must be some kind of spatial treasure that could handle both time and space.
If it could withstand large-scale teleportation, it should be able to handle other situations as well.
As it turned out, Lin Fengmian’s gamble had paid off!
He quickly grabbed Liu Mei and Chen Qingyan and made sure that they didn’t drift out of the Double Fish’s protection.
Liu Mei, who had never experienced such a miraculous event, marveled at the two carp spirits circling them.
“What’s going on here?”
Chen Qingyan also gazed at the two Divine Carp Spirits in awe, her eyes sparkling with admiration.
“Junior Brother, is this your ace in the hole?”
Seeing the curiosity on the two women’s faces, Lin Fengmian chuckled. “This is a family heirloom of mine, capable of stabilizing spatial turbulence.”
Chen Qingyan and Liu Mei tactfully refrained from asking further questions, but they couldn’t help but feel that the Lin family was becoming more and more mysterious.
Liu Mei asked, “Do you have a way to get us out of here? If this continues, it won’t be a solution.”
Lin Fengmian tried to control the two carp spirits, but they remained unresponsive, simply drifting with the currents while protecting the trio.
“Oh no, I can’t control them!” he admitted awkwardly.
The only silver lining was that the Double Fish Pendant didn’t require spiritual energy to activate. Instead, it absorbed energy from the void, growing more active as time passed.
Liu Mei tried to find humor in the situation. “Little rascal, if we can’t get out, does that mean we have to spend the rest of our lives with you?”
Lin Fengmian laughed heartily. “That would be a dream come true for me, to enjoy the company of two beauties.”
Liu Mei rolled her eyes at him and teased, “If we really get trapped here, you won’t be enjoying much for long.”
Lin Fengmian laughed again. “It’s not about how long we have, it’s about the moments we share.”
“Junior Brother, Senior Sister, I don’t think we should be too pessimistic,” Chen Qingyan said quietly.
“Oh? Is Chen Qingyan planning to settle down and have a child for him?” Liu Mei joked.
Chen Qingyan smiled helplessly. “Senior sister, you’re joking. I think those two carp spirits are getting stronger.”
Lin Fengmian nodded his head in agreement. This was also why he still had the mood to joke with Liu Mei.
The two Carp Spirits seemed to be gathering power, and as long as they continued to protect the trio, there was still hope.
