Chapter 6: Chapter 6
[3rd POV]
His name is Jacob Loewe, and he is the captain of King's Knight. As one of the King's Knights, it is his duty to protect the king and be ready when the king calls his banner. However, today is different. He is called to the training ground to train with the king.
He pities the young king. He pities him for having a massive responsibility being put on his shoulders. However, he knows that King Lukas will be a good king because he and Sebastian are the people who watch him grow into a fine young man.
When he arrives at the training ground, he can see King Lukas already there, wearing his training clothes and holding a sword.
Because he is rarely interested in swordsmanship, the previous king did not force him to practice swordsmanship or any other martial arts. However, after his father's death, Jacob knows that his king wants to continue the tradition of using swords.
"Good morning, my king."
Lukas smiles and says.
"Good morning, Jacob. Sorry for taking away your free time."
"What are you talking about, my king? You can take as much of my time as you want, Your Highness."
"Even then, thank you. Now! Can you teach me swordsmanship?"
"With pleasure, your highness. However, just like your father, I will not go easy on you. I will push you to the limit, and I don't want you to quit halfway."
Lukas nods his head.
"Good. Because I don't want you to go easy on me. However, I must tell you this: I can only do this every morning as I still have my other duty and magic training."
"I understand, your highness. Now, let's run around the training ground for an hour."
Lukas nods his head and follows Jacob's lead. The two of them run around the training ground. Jacob looks at Lukas with a proud expression. They are running at a fast pace, and even after fifteen minutes, his king still has a steady breath and keeps up the pace.
"We are done."
Lukas releases a sigh and wipes the sweat off his forehead. He looks at his stats and smiles a little. He can see his AGI increase by two points.
"Well done, your highness. You do even better than knight candidates on their first day of training."
"Really?"
"Yes. After an hour of running around at that pace, they are usually panting like a dog, but your breath is still steady."
Lukas stops himself from telling him that he is also meditating while running. While meditation boosts mana regeneration, it also helps him control his breathing while running and regenerate his stamina a little bit.
"Now we are done with the warm-up, we will start learning how to use a sword. Look at how I hold my sword and follow my lead."
Lukas summons one of his phantom weapons, which looks like what Jacob is holding.
"One of your magic, your highness?"
"Yup. Neat, right?"
"How strong are they?"
"They are as strong as the weapons I copy. I can copy someone."
"That means depending on the weapon you see, it can be very strong and durable. That is an impressive magic, Your Highness."
"Thank you."
Jacob smiles and takes a battle stance. Lukas takes the same battle stance and follows the movement Jacob is doing. His [Melee Weapon] passive skill already fills what he needs to know and makes sure he gets the technique right.
After a few minutes, Jacob stops and says.
"That should do it. That is the Wind Serpent Swordsmanship. It is swordsmanship that the first King of Korven made and the foundation of the swordsmanship that passed down to his descendants since his passing."
Lukas can only nod as he looks at the notification in front of him.
[Wind Serpent Swordsmanship] [Passive] [Level: 1]
{A swordsmanship that mimics the movement of the Wind Serpent. A key is hidden in this swordsmanship that can unlock the full power of the Four Wind Swordsmanship}
|Effect: +10% damage to all sword-related attacks and +10 AGI|
He read through the description and wondered what it meant by a key.
'Will I unlock it after reaching the max level? I will do that.'
Lukas looks at Jacob and says.
"What now?"
"Now? Now we spar. Let's see if you can use that in a fight. Come whenever you are ready, Your Highness."
He nods his head and dashes forward toward me. He swings his sword up, but Jacob blocks his attack.
"Not bad! Your attacks carry weight, and your form is not bad. You are a prodigy, your highness."
Lukas grunts and pushes forward. Jacob grins and starts to fight back but still holds back. The two of them fight with each other, and the onlooker sees them fighting as if they are seeing the deadliest dance they have ever seen.
The Wind Serpent Swordsmanship is a style that requires the user to move around like the wind, fast and flexible. What the people see is the two fighters jumping and moving around like two dancers dancing across the arena.
Jacob is now grinning from ear to ear as he watches his king get better every second they fight. Lukas' movement is even more fluid, and his stance gets better the longer they fight.
After a full hour of fighting, Jacob parries the incoming attack and jumps away.
"That is enough. We have been fighting for an hour, Your Highness."
Lukas nods and removes his sword while wiping the sweat from his face.
"Thank you for the spar, Jacob."
"Think nothing of it, Your Highness. I am happy that you are able to grow this fast. Sooner or later, you will outgrow me."
Lukas nods his head and says.
"Thank you. Let's do another training tomorrow morning."
"Of course."
=== Line Break ===
Lukas looks at the massive portal in front of him, and he releases a sigh. It has been three days since the start of his sword training, and it is time for the dungeon break to start.
The people of Leonis already evacuated to the other side of the city while the soldiers and he prepared for the incoming dungeon break.
While waiting, he opens his stats.

His stats grow nicely. All of his stats are above twenty, and his magic-related stats are above fifty. Besides taking care of the paperwork, Lukas pushes his body and magic to the edge and grows from it.
The only thing he needs right now is level; this dungeon break will be the perfect event for him.
"Lukas"
He snaps from his thoughts and looks to the side. He smiles when he sees his mother and sister walking toward him. He hung the two of them tightly. After a few seconds, his mother releases him and says,
"Are you sure you want to do this, Lukas? You don't need to lead them from the front, you know?"
"No, mother. A great leader is one that leads from the front. Sooner or later, I need to lead my people in battle. This will be a perfect experience for me as it is not too dangerous than fighting in a war."
Rosalina nods her head in understanding and says.
"I understand."
She truly understands his reasoning. Her husband also has the same reasoning, and as much as she doesn't want to let her son go, she cannot do that. It is a matter of honor and pride.
"Don't worry, mom! Lukas is strong. He will show those goblins the power of the Herrington Family."
Lukas grins at his sister, Gabrielle, and nods.
"You bet I will."
Rosalina shakes her head with a smile and gives her son a deep kiss. After a few seconds, she parts away and says.
"Even then, be careful, okay?"
"I will, Mother."
Gabrielle also kisses Lukas before they enter the carriage and return to the palace. He waves his hand as he watches his mother and sister leave.
Lukas smiles and turns around just in time to see the portal pulsating with eldritch power. He frowns and shouts.
"The dungeon is about to break! To formation!"
He summons a phantom sword and takes a battle stance—his sword in his right hand and a ball of fire in his left hand.
After a few seconds, the portal changes color, and he sees a small army of goblins coming out of the portal.
"Here they come!"
