Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1383: Improvements

"Why don't you ask one of the former lords?" Elisabetha asked. "They have knowledge beyond our current limits. Some of their skills and techniques probably weren't added on their paths when you analyzed them."

"I guess it is worth checking…" Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

When Rain went to check his pocket dimension, he confirmed that a lot of the patients there were almost completely healed. The real problem was the lords… they had up to five to ten times more health than the ordinary warriors, so they would need more time to recover.

"How is everyone behaving?" Rain asked.

"They didn't try to do anything since they still are heavily wounded," Hardt said.

Rain felt like he had used his Pokemons too much and refused to take them to the pokecenter. While he didn't want to make anyone get spoiled, and he also wanted warriors to never forget that they almost died, he changed his path to the Healer's path and then increased the regeneration speed of the group.

"Since you are here, might as well ask you first…" Rain said. "Do you know any good technique to improve stamina?"

"Do you mean a secret technique? Aside from the basics of running and carrying weight?" Hardt asked. "I don't know any."

"You sure are old fashioned…" Rain said and then turned to the side and saw Loar in a deep state of meditation. "This guy is a magic user through and through. I guess it is useless to ask him."

"You are incorrect, master," Loar said. "I know, in fact, a variation of the technique that you are interested in."

Rain kicked the face of Loar with his knee and made him fall backward. Although his nose began to bleed, Loar couldn't complain since Rain told him not to call him master. Besides, he held back. He thought that he was being respectful, grateful and loyal after receiving a second chance by Rain, but he was only being annoying.

"My apologies… Rain," Loar said. "I won't commit the same mistake."

"I guess I can't complain now that you are sounding like you are being embarrassed for acting like you are my best friend," Rain said. "Anyway, what are you talking about?"

"My current meditation helps me recover mana beyond my limits, and I can use the remaining energy to improve my mana pool or my control over light magic," Loar said.

Rain wondered why that skill wasn't on the path… maybe it was because it had some issues. Rain soon confirmed when Loar used the technique, and then his presence basically disappeared. The more one blinked while looking at him, the more it felt like he was disappearing like a ghost.

"This technique wasn't that useful before, but thanks to those so-called paths, it became a lot more efficient," Loar said.

"I guess I'll bring Sakaki here," Rain said. "Activate the technique once more."

After entering his meditative state, Loar felt a sense of tranquility enveloping him, his consciousness delving deeper into the recesses of his mind to harness the latent energy within. However, his focus was abruptly interrupted by a sudden jolt coursing through his body. It wasn't a sensation of pain, but rather a startling shock that caught him off guard, disrupting his focus.

Blinking in surprise, Loar found himself snapped back to reality as he realized the cause of the disturbance. Rain had teleported Sakaki into their area, and with him came a surge of electric energy. Rain, with the javelin, began to analyze Loar's meditation technique with precision, dissecting its intricacies and unraveling its secrets.

As Sakaki's analysis intensified, Loar could feel his meditative state fluctuating, the stability of his technique momentarily faltering under the focus of Sakaki's analysis.

"You should be able to do this, but his constitution is different, so… I don't know," Sakaki said. "Let's see, let's use your corrupt energy and my knowledge of the system of the machine gods."

Sakaki soon crafted a dark ring that was emitting a light glow. He consumed Rain's mana without even asking, and it had been a fair bit as well… in any case, Rain equipped it and tried to meditate, but nothing happened. After thinking for a short while, Rain equipped the Light Magic Path and then tried again. Soon, he began to feel his mind changing.

Rain felt his mind turning off quite fast and his body also began to feel like he was floating. It felt like using meditation mastery rings on all of his fingers and then some… still, with a single thought, Rain woke up from the effect.

Your mana increased by one point.

Your mana increased by one point.

Your mana increased by one point.

"For how long I was out?" Rain asked.

"Only a couple of seconds," Sakaki said. "I used the mana on the gem to recover yours, so it seems that it was very effective. Your high intelligence makes the skill very efficient, apparently. That is good, but aren't you planning to learn how to increase your stamina?"

"Yeah, but this isn't half bad," Rain said. "I should turn this into the skill of another path and then create the stamina and health version of it. As for the requirements…"

Rain's mind raced with possibilities as Sakaki's analysis ended. Suddenly, a spark of inspiration ignited within him, and without hesitation, he unequipped the ring from his hand. With a focused expression, Rain returned to his meditation spot, the ring clutched firmly in his hand.

As he settled into his meditation posture once again, Rain focused his thoughts on accessing that state of heightened awareness and energy manipulation. Drawing upon his own reservoir of inner strength, he delved deep into his consciousness, channeling his breath with precision and purpose.

Employing the breathing technique that enabled him to use the power of Limit Breaker, Rain took slow, deliberate breaths, each inhalation and exhalation imbued with intent. With each cycle of breath, he felt the familiar surge of energy coursing through his veins, invigorating his mind and body with renewed vitality.
