I’m the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 1451: The Death of Mew

When the last Shadow Unown was sucked into the clay pot, Yuga thought the Shadow Unown were finally going to be dealt with—but then, a sudden change occurred.

Chimecho and the Unown that had formed the trapping net unexpectedly lost control and also started falling toward the clay pot.

"What's going on?!" Yuga exclaimed in shock, turning to look at Headmaster Tiandong.

"I have no idea either!" Fontaine wore a completely baffled expression.

Yuga wanted to run over and stop it, but at that moment, the entire space began to tremble. He lost his footing and accidentally fell to the ground. Chimecho and the Unown were all carried by the blue light and sucked into the pot.

Yuga scrambled to his feet and rushed to the clay pot, trying to rescue Chimecho, only to find that the mouth of the pot had already been sealed by a layer of hazy blue light.

He reached out and slapped the blue light, trying to open the pot's mouth, but the light remained completely unresponsive.

The spatial tremors continued. Without the assistance of the Unown, Mew could no longer sustain Zenith Academy in the space rift with its own power. At that moment, Zenith Academy was gradually returning to the Pokémon World bit by bit.

"Look over there!"

Someone suddenly shouted, and everyone looked toward the edge of the space rift, where they saw that in the once gray haze, scenes of grasslands and green trees had appeared—these were precisely the surroundings of Zenith Academy.

Mew was still fighting against Latias and Latios. Even though it no longer had the help of the Shadow Unown, it was still extremely powerful. The brother and sister duo were not gaining the upper hand in battle.

Seeing the Shadow Unown sealed away, Mew was extremely furious. It had spent hundreds of years corrupting the Unown and making them its own, all to break free—and now they had been sealed away so easily.

Despicable humans!

Enraged, Mew seized a moment of vulnerability, struck Latios flying with a Dark Pulse, and then used Psychic to grab hold of Latias.

"Florges, Moonblast!" Yuga shouted.

"Florges~"

Florges raised her arms, and behind her appeared a silver full moon. The moonlight fell onto her and transformed into a pillar of light that shot toward Mew.

Caught off guard just as it was about to attack Latias, Mew was struck head-on by the Moonblast. Latias seized the opportunity to break free from the grip of Psychic.

Latios took flight again, lined up beside his sister, and first used Helping Hand on her, then together they launched a double Dragon Pulse.

Mew, who had just been knocked down, was thinking of dodging when suddenly countless vines sprouted from below and entangled it in the blink of an eye.

Boom!

A massive blue-purple dragon blasted Mew, engulfing it completely. A shrill cry of agony echoed out from the waves of energy.

Before the smoke could even clear, Mew emerged in a battered state. It swept a cold gaze across the Latias-Latios siblings and Yuga and the others. Suddenly, black energy like flames surged all over its body, and as the energy intensified, its aura began to rise uncontrollably.

However, Yuga sharply sensed that although Mew's power had increased, its life force was rapidly plummeting.

"Mew~"

With a cry of sorrow, Mew—whose body had previously only been covered in black markings—had now completely transformed, becoming pitch black all over.

...

[ Mew (Mutant Form) ]

Type: Dark, Psychic

Ability: Synchronize

Gender: None

Potential: Unknown

Level: Unknown

Moves: ...

...

Yuga once again used the Insight skill to look at Mew, and found that its data had undergone a bizarre transformation. First, its status had changed from "Corrupted" to "Mutated Form," and second, its main attribute had shifted from "Psychic" to "Dark."

"Mew~"

Before Yuga could even continue to be surprised, a massive black energy orb rose up around Mew, from which sudden waves of Dark Pulse shot out like black fireworks exploding, blasting toward the people and Pokémon.

"Latias~"

"Latios~"

Latias and Latios, who were closest to Mew, were hit first, let out a pained cry, and fell from the air. One after another, other Pokémon were also struck. In an instant, the Pokémon of the descendants of the fairies suffered heavy losses.

What shocked Yuga even more was that when those waves of Dark Pulse splattered onto the pink crystals, they actually left behind streaks of black stains on the crystal surface.

Just as a wave of Dark Pulse was about to hit Yuga, a wooden wall suddenly appeared in front of Florges, blocking the attack. However, the wall was immediately corrupted and turned black, then dissipated into Grass-type energy and vanished.

While Yuga and the others were doing everything they could to defend against Mew's attacks, Magearna had unknowingly walked to the front. A strangely-shaped key appeared in its hand, and it inserted the key into the opening in its chest.

Ka-cha... cha...

The sound of turning gears followed.

Then a pink light began to rise from Magearna's chest, growing higher and higher, until it finally formed a curved energy shield that completely covered Yuga and the others beneath it.

The black Dark Pulses struck the shield, causing ripple-like rings to spread out, but none of them managed to penetrate its protection. This made everyone breathe a sigh of relief.

This energy shield was a contingency mechanism left behind by Magearna's creator.

But that wasn't the end. Suddenly, two multicolored beams of light shot out from Magearna's hands, striking Latias and Latios. The expressions on the siblings' faces suddenly twisted with pain and agony.

But in the very next second, something that stunned Yuga and everyone else occurred—Latias and Latios underwent a massive transformation.

Without Mega Stones, without a Key Stone, and without forming a bond with any human, the siblings completed Mega Evolution.

Yuga recalled that Ash had once told him he had met someone in the Azoth Kingdom who could forcibly make Pokémon Mega Evolve.

It was obvious now—what Magearna used was the same kind of technology, and perhaps even came from the same origin.

After Mega Evolution, Latias and Latios could clearly feel that their strength had significantly increased. They both used Recover simultaneously.

The injuries on the siblings disappeared in the blink of an eye, and they immediately soared back into the sky.

At this moment, under Mew's continuous attacks, Magearna's energy shield had already begun to wobble slightly. Clearly, this shield wouldn't be able to protect Yuga and the others forever. To completely eliminate the threat, Mew had to be dealt with.

Magearna opened a small gap in the shield, and Latias and Latios slipped out smoothly and once again confronted Mew.

As soon as they exited the shield, Latias and Latios both launched Dragon Pulse at Mew. Mew casually waved its small hand, sending out a Dark Pulse to collide with the Dragon Pulse. The two attacks exploded mid-air.

Latias and Latios were about to strike again when Mew, using the cover of the smoke, had somehow already arrived at their side.

Boom!

Mew's long tail lashed fiercely against Latias, using Iron Tail to knock her down. The force also punched a large hole through the energy shield, and Latias crashed to the ground.

With a sorrowful cry, Latias struck the earth, leaving a massive crater behind.

Latios, seeing this, swung his Dragon Claw toward Mew, but Mew had already vanished from where it had been.

Below, Latias was just about to use Recover to heal herself when a pink beam of light suddenly descended upon her, causing her wounds to disappear in an instant.

It turned out to be the Wish that Florges had cast earlier finally taking effect.

"Florges, go help them!" Yuga ordered.

"Florges~"

Florges responded and swiftly climbed onto Latias's back.

Not being able to fly is so troublesome!

Latias hesitated for a moment, but ultimately took flight with Florges on her back.

With Florges's help, Latias and Latios indeed found things much easier. As a Fairy-type, Florges had a distinct advantage over the mutated Dark-type Mew, posing a significant threat to it.

Florges summoned Fairy energy and cast Moonblast toward Mew. Mew twisted its body to dodge, only to be met by Latios's Dragon Pulse immediately afterward.

Mew tried to dodge again, but wasn't quick enough—Dragon Pulse clipped one side of its body, sending it crashing into the barrier Magearna had painstakingly maintained.

Annoyed by the interference of the shield, Mew exerted powerful psychic energy upon it, and the barrier, unable to withstand the pressure, shattered with a thunderous crack.

The moment the barrier broke, Magearna reacted as if struck by lightning, nearly losing its balance. Seizing the opportunity, Mew darted toward it, intending to eliminate the one that had upheld its centuries-long imprisonment.

However, before Mew could reach Magearna, it was suddenly ensnared by vines that seemed to grow from nowhere. With a wave of its small hand, Mew corrupted the green vines with sinister Dark energy, turning them black before they disintegrated into glimmers of Grass-type energy and vanished into the air.

Even so, the delay bought Magearna some time. A sudden pink beam of light shot from its body and struck Mew directly.

It was Magearna's signature move, Fleur Cannon—immensely powerful, but with the severe drawback of greatly lowering Magearna's Special Attack after use.

Mew had not expected Magearna to unleash such a devastating strike and was sent flying backward, slamming into a nearby crystal.

At that moment, the coordinated attacks that Latias, Latios, and Florges had prepared came rushing in.

Latias and Latios launched the mighty Dragon-type move Draco Meteor together, while Florges unleashed her most powerful technique—Light of Ruin.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Countless meteors laced with flames pounded Mew one after another, and the Light of Ruin delivered the final blow.

When the energy shockwaves dissipated, Mew had vanished, leaving only a large crater in its place. Lying quietly in the pit was a pink, rhombus-shaped crystal streaked with black patterns.

"I-Is it... over?" Mr. Harrison couldn't help but ask.

Just as his words fell, the pink crystal that had encased the Zenith Academy began to slowly melt away, dispersing into the air as unknown energy.

Seeing this, Professor Chiffon murmured, "Looks like it's really over."

At the same time, everyone realized that Zenith Academy had somehow fully returned to the real world—the spatial rift had long since vanished.

"What happened?" a student asked in confusion, glancing around at the now-ordinary surroundings and the missing crystal, baffled.

With the disappearance of the pink crystal, the students sealed inside were finally freed.

Seeing that the students were unharmed, Fontaine let out a sigh of relief and quickly instructed Professor Chiffon, "Chiffon, organize a team immediately to restore order in the academy!"

"Yes, Headmaster!" Teacher Chiffon promptly took several people and ran off.

Yuga held the clay jar and came before Fontaineg, asking, "Mr. Fontaine, my Chimecho was sealed inside this jar as well—what should I do?"

Fontaine looked troubled and said, "Mr. Shimizu, why don't we talk somewhere else?"

Seeing more and more students gradually recovering around them, Yuga had no choice but to nod in agreement.

So Yuga recalled all his Pokémon and followed Fontaineaway, leaving the battlefield cleanup to the remaining Fairy Remnants.

Under Fontaine's guidance, Yuga arrived at the headmaster's office. Along the way, quite a few students looked at Yuga with curiosity.

However, Zenith Academy had strict discipline. Despite the upheaval they had just experienced, thanks to Teacher Chiffon and the efforts of some students, the academy remained orderly.

Fontaine waved for the two clansmen helping carry the jar to leave. Then he turned to Yuga with an apologetic expression and said, "Mr. Shimizu, I really didn't know this jar would seal your Chimecho as well."

Yuga waved his hand and said, "Right now, I just want to know how to release Chimecho."

Fontaine shook his head bitterly and said, "I truly apologize, but I don't know either." If the seal is broken recklessly, those Shadow Unown sealed within would also be released.

Hearing this, Yuga's expression immediately turned extremely grim.

However, Fontaine continued, "But perhaps the people of Arche Valley might have a way. The jar originally belonged to them."

Yuga's eyes lit up upon hearing that. "Really?"

Fontaine replied, "It's just a possibility. We haven't had contact with Arche Valley for many years, so I don't know the specifics."

"Where is Arche Valley?" Yuga asked urgently. "How can I contact them?"

Fontaine explained, "No one has come out of Arche Valley in over two hundred years. What our clan knows is only a rough location. If you want to contact them, you'll have to go there and find them yourself."

"A rough location is good enough. I'll definitely find them," Yuga said firmly.

"In that case," Fontaine relented and told Yuga the approximate location of Arche Valley.

"Thank you very much," Yuga said gratefully.

Fontaine shook his head and said, "It was your Chimecho that got dragged into this for our sake. We're the ones who should be thanking you. Our Fairy Remnants will never forget your kindness."

Yuga didn't say more upon hearing that. Fontaine then added, "It's getting late today. Mr. Shimizu, why don't you stay at Zenith Academy for the night and set out for Arche Valley tomorrow?"

Yuga nodded and said, "Then I'll trouble you."

Yuga chatted with Fontaine for quite a while before finally leaving the director's office. As soon as he stepped out, he saw Teacher Chiffon standing outside with Ayamu.

"Ayamu! I'm so glad you're okay!" Yuga said happily, striding over in large steps.

"Gym Leader! You really came to rescue me! I'm so touched!" Ayamu beamed with a bright smile.

The reason Ayamu had time to send Yuga a distress message was because one of her classmates shielded her when the crystal was freezing over, buying her just enough time to ask for help.

"I was so worried! I'm just glad you're safe," Yuga said as he gently ruffled Ayamu's hair.
