I’m a Girl, He’s a Psycho, and This is Fine

Chapter 14: Chapter 6.1: A New Identity

The next morning, Shi Mo woke early.

Her uniform was already ironed, her new haircut sharp, and her features clean without any makeup. Her chest was bound flat beneath her shirt, and her every movement had been practiced for weeks to appear masculine.

She was ready.

Today marked the official beginning of her new life as a boy.

When she arrived at Class 15, the room was already half full.

The classroom was noisy and chaotic—students were chatting loudly, playing games on their phones, or napping with their feet propped on desks. A few heads turned when Shi Mo walked in, but no one paid much attention.

She stood at the door for a moment before walking to the teacher's desk and placing her transfer form on top.

A few whispers floated through the room.

"Who's that?"

"Is that the new guy?"

"Looks like a freshman…"

She ignored them and walked to an empty seat near the back, placing her bag down and sitting calmly.

Just then, a girl entered the room with a confident stride. Her long hair was tied in a high ponytail, and her crisp uniform hugged her slender figure. Her face was sweet and beautiful, with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

She stopped beside Shi Mo's desk and tilted her head. "You're new."

Shi Mo looked up. "Yeah."

The girl grinned. "I'm Bei Ling. Class monitor and welcome committee of one. What's your name?"

"Shi Mo."

Bei Ling raised an eyebrow. "You talk like you're from the south."

"Lived there for a while," she replied calmly.

Bei Ling nodded approvingly. "Cool. Let me know if anyone gives you trouble."

Before Shi Mo could respond, the classroom door banged open.

A tall figure entered—cold, composed, with a presence that silenced the room instantly.

Fu Yunshen.

He wore the uniform sloppily—collar open, tie loose, and hands shoved into his pockets. His dark eyes scanned the room without interest.

Several girls blushed.

A few boys straightened up in their seats.

Without acknowledging anyone, he walked to the seat beside Shi Mo and sat down.

Shi Mo glanced sideways, expression unreadable.

They were deskmates now.

Perfect.

As the teacher walked in and class began, Shi Mo noted the seating arrangement. Fu Yunshen sat on her right, Bei Ling two rows ahead. The rest of the class was a mix of lazy heirs and indifferent students—exactly as expected.

Class 15 had the worst reputation at Yingnan High. No one studied seriously. The teachers barely enforced rules. Some students came just to sleep or show off their luxury watches.

But that chaos worked in Shi Mo's favor. She didn't want attention—she just needed to stay close to Fu Yunshen.

And this arrangement was ideal.

She watched him from the corner of her eye. He sat silently, not taking notes, staring at the blackboard with a bored expression.

Halfway through the lecture, he suddenly leaned back and whispered, "Why are you staring at me?"

Shi Mo blinked.

His voice was low—calm but slightly menacing.

"I wasn't," she replied evenly.

He gave her a long look, then turned away without another word.

Shi Mo let out a silent breath.

That was close.
