Chapter 41: White Dragon Emperor - 2

The school day had begun, and Issei found himself settling into his usual routine. As the teacher droned on, he chatted quietly with his two best friends, Matsuda and Motohama, sharing jokes and gossip about the latest happenings.

The atmosphere in the classroom was lighthearted until the door slid open abruptly. All heads turned as Xenovia strode in confidently, her usual serious expression softened by a hint of curiosity. The class fell silent, intrigued by her unexpected entrance.

Issei blinked in surprise. "Xenovia? What's up?"

Without preamble, Xenovia walked up to him, her voice calm but direct. "Issei, I have a request."

Issei tilted his head, confused. "Uh, sure. What is it?"

Xenovia reached into her bag and, to the astonishment of everyone present, pulled out several brightly colored packets. Holding them up, she said, "I would like to engage in intercourse with you. I've brought different types of condoms, so you can choose."

The classroom erupted into chaos. Matsuda and Motohama's jaws dropped, their faces turning red with shock and envy. "What the hell, Issei?!"

Before Issei could process what was happening, his two friends lunged at him, fists flying in a flurry of jealousy-fueled rage. "You lucky bastard! How do you always get this kind of attention?"

"Wait! It's not what it looks like!" Issei yelled, trying to shield himself from their blows.

Amidst the chaos, he managed to snatch the packets from Xenovia's hands. "I need to get out of here!"

With that, he bolted out of the classroom, the sounds of his friends' protests fading behind him. Xenovia stood there, blinking in confusion as the rest of the class buzzed with gossip and laughter.

As Issei sprinted down the hallway, he couldn't help but think,'why does stuff like this always happen to me?'

Meanwhile, Xenovia, still standing in the classroom, tilted her head slightly. "Did I say something wrong?"

The classroom erupted into laughter once more, leaving Xenovia more puzzled than ever.

The day was calm, the gentle rustling of leaves providing a soothing background as Raizel lounged atop a sturdy structure nestled between lush trees.

The sun filtered through the canopy, casting dappled patterns of light and shadow around him. As he gazed out at the serene surroundings, his thoughts drifted back to the events of the previous night, a soft smile playing on his lips.

Lost in his musings, Raizel's keen senses picked up on approaching footsteps. He glanced down to see Sona and Tsubaki walking side by side, their conversation animated but subdued.

A few steps behind them, Rias and Akeno strolled leisurely, their own discussion filled with the usual blend of light banter and serious topics.

Raizel watched silently, unnoticed by the group as they passed beneath his perch. Deciding to extend a quiet gesture of hospitality, he conjured a small tray of drinks and snacks, setting them down beside him.

The aroma of freshly brewed tea mingled with the crisp air, adding a touch of warmth to the tranquil scene.

Moments later, another familiar figure appeared—Issei, his usual energetic self, making his way toward the group. Raizel observed as Issei joined them, the conversation naturally shifting to accommodate his presence.

Their discussion soon turned to Vali, the White Dragon Emperor.

----

The conversation about Vali's potential threat continued, with Sona preparing to take her leave. Just as she was about to turn, Issei, ever the observant—or perhaps just lucky—one, glanced upward and spotted Raizel lounging atop the tree structure.

"Hey, Raizel! What are you doing up there?" Issei called out, waving enthusiastically.

The group followed Issei's gaze, their eyes widening in surprise as they realized Raizel had been quietly observing them the entire time.

A stunned silence fell over the group, each of them mentally replaying the conversation, wondering how much Raizel had overheard.

Rias blinked in surprise. "Raizel? How long have you been up there?"

Raizel, ever composed, simply lifted the cup of tea in his hand, a subtle smile gracing his lips. "Long enough."

Sona adjusted her glasses, a slight blush of embarrassment creeping onto her cheeks. "We were so engrossed in our discussion that we didn't even sense your presence."

Tsubaki nodded in agreement, her expression a mix of admiration and slight embarrassment. "It's impressive, really."

Raizel stood gracefully, descending from the structure with a fluid motion. "I thought it best not to interrupt. You all seemed deep in thought."

Issei, still waving, grinned. "Man, you're like a ninja or something. We never even knew you were there!"

Rias smiled softly. "Well, now that you're here, why don't you join us? We could use your perspective on this."

Raizel nodded, his calm demeanor unchanged. "Of course."

As he joined the group, the earlier tension dissolved, replaced by a sense of camaraderie. The conversation resumed, now enriched by Raizel's quiet wisdom and unique insights, as they continued to discuss the implications of Vali's appearance and the challenges that lay ahead.

----

The conversation gradually wound down, the group feeling more at ease after discussing the potential threat of Vali.

Just as they were about to part ways, Raizel's calm voice broke the momentary silence.

"May I ask you something, Akeno?" he began, his gaze fixed firmly on her.

The group turned their attention to Akeno, curious about what Raizel might ask. His next words cut through the air, drawing all focus to the quiet tension between the two.

"Why have you been ignoring me lately?" Raizel's tone remained calm, but there was a subtle undertone of genuine concern in his voice. His crimson eyes met hers, unwavering.

Akeno, who had been standing near the back of the group, suddenly seemed to shrink into herself. Her usual confident demeanor faltered as she tried to avoid his gaze, shifting her position to partially hide behind Rias.

The others exchanged glances, sensing the weight of the question and the underlying tension between Raizel and Akeno.

Issei's eyes widened, his mouth opening slightly as if to say something but ultimately remaining silent. Sona and Tsubaki watched with quiet interest, while Rias's expression softened with understanding.

Akeno's cheeks flushed a deep red as she attempted to compose herself. "I… I wasn't ignoring you," she stammered, her voice uncharacteristically meek.

Raizel raised an eyebrow slightly, not breaking eye contact. "It didn't seem that way. You've been avoiding me since last night."

Akeno bit her lip, still not meeting his gaze. "I just… needed some time to think, that's all."

The group watched the exchange in silence, sensing the personal nature of the conversation. Akeno's usual playfulness was nowhere to be seen, replaced by a vulnerable side she rarely showed.

Rias, ever the supportive friend, gently placed a hand on Akeno's shoulder. "Akeno, it's okay. You can talk to him."

Akeno took a deep breath, finally gathering the courage to look up at Raizel. Her eyes met his, filled with a mix of emotions. "I'm sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring you. I just didn't know how to face you after… last night."

Raizel's expression softened, a small smile forming on his lips. "There's no need to apologize. I just wanted to understand."

The tension in the air eased slightly, though the moment still carried a certain weight. Akeno gave a small nod, her usual confident demeanor beginning to return, though her cheeks still carried a hint of pink.

Sona, sensing the need to shift the mood, cleared her throat softly. "Well, I think we should give them some space."

The group murmured their agreement, each offering subtle smiles before beginning to disperse.

As they left, Rias gave Akeno a reassuring pat on the shoulder, a silent gesture of support.

Raizel and Akeno stood there for a moment, the world around them quiet once more. Akeno finally spoke, her voice soft but steady. "Thank you for understanding."
