Chapter 25: Chapter 25— Planning the Next Step
Chapter 25— Planning the Next Step
After a family dinner, Arthur was now lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling of his room. The soft glow of the moon filtered through the window, casting silver patterns across the floor. The house was quiet, only the distant hum of the night filling the air. As much as he loved these peaceful moments, his mind was restless.
Arthur let out a long sigh, folding his arms behind his head.
— "Alright... what's my next step?"
He knew that he couldn't just waste time. The clock was always ticking, and every moment of rest was a moment an enemy somewhere might be getting stronger.
Arthur thought about going back to Fairy Tail, to see Erza and Mira again. The thought made him smile for a second, remembering their faces, their laughter… but then he shook his head.
— "But they're on a mission... Besides, it's only been one day in that world. We've been apart for just a single day there."
Time worked differently between worlds, after all.
He sat up on the bed, rubbing his face with both hands as if trying to shake off the mental fog. His mind shifted focus.
— "I need to think... What can I improve right now? What world could help me cover as many of my current weaknesses as possible?"
Arthur swung his legs off the bed and sat on the edge, staring at the floor in deep thought.
— "Let's analyze my flaws..."
He clenched his fists, bringing them up in front of him.
— "Even though I've already gained the Viltrumite bloodline and the speed of Shadow... I never really learned how to fight properly. I mean... how to throw a real punch... how to use my full power without wasting any of it."
Arthur exhaled sharply, frustration growing in his chest.
— "Every time I punch or kick, I'm scattering energy. I don't want that kind of gap in my skills. Not when I'm going to so many different worlds where the smallest mistake could mean death. If I have that kind of weakness, an enemy could exploit it easily."
He stood up and started pacing around the room, speaking his thoughts aloud.
— "So... which worlds could teach me how to fight well?"
His mind ran through the list of combat-focused worlds he knew.
— "There's Boku no Hero... One Piece... and a bunch of other fighting anime worlds..."
But then, reality hit him. Arthur stopped walking and frowned.
— "The problem is... most of them are full of normal people. If I go all out even during basic training, I could accidentally kill the teachers trying to help me. That would defeat the whole purpose."
He paused, thinking carefully.
— "So... that pretty much leaves me with just two realistic options: One Piece and Boku no Hero."
He crossed his arms, weighing the pros and cons.
— "Boku no Hero... If I entered U.A., I'd get trained by a lot of professional heroes who also work as teachers. That's a big advantage."
But then, he grimaced.
— "But there's one huge problem... I'm too young. Midoriya took the entrance exam for U.A. when he was like, what, 15 or 16 years old? I'm way too young to enroll there right now. Not happening."
Arthur sighed again, feeling the frustration building. But he quickly pushed it aside.
— "So... that leaves One Piece."
A small grin spread across his face at the thought.
— "In that world... I can learn the three types of Haki. Observation, Armament, and Conqueror's."
His eyes gleamed with excitement.
— "Even if I don't naturally have Haki... I can always... well... 'devour' someone who has it."
Arthur cracked his knuckles, determination solidifying in his chest.
— "Alright... Now that the goal is set... Let's think about something else for a second."
He flopped back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling with a slight smile.
— "Which girls do I like from One Piece, anyway?"
He thought for a moment, images flashing in his mind.
— "Ah, of course... Hancock... Yamato... and Black Maria."
Arthur laughed softly to himself.
— "Huh... Seems like I only like the tall ones."
He sat back up, now fully energized.
— "Well... Since I've made my decision..."
His tone grew more serious.
— "Now it's time to enter One Piece during the period when Black Maria was about 12 years old."
He nodded firmly.
— "That way, I can intercept her before she's taken by the Beasts Pirates... and at the same time, I can prevent Hancock from being captured and turned into a slave."
Arthur's expression hardened with determination. The plan was forming perfectly in his mind.
— "That settles it."
Without hesitation, Arthur stood up and walked toward the corner of the room where the air began to distort slightly with swirling energy.
He activated the dimensional portal, watching as a glowing vortex opened before him, filled with swirling colors and shifting realities.
— "Next stop... One Piece."
With one last breath, he stepped into the portal.
And in an instant... it closed behind him.
