Chapter 22: Chapter 22— The Power of a God and the Heart of a Boy

Chapter 22— The Power of a God and the Heart of a Boy

The first rays of sunlight slipped through the window, casting soft golden beams across Arthur's bedroom floor. He slowly opened his eyes, blinking as the light hit his face. But something was different.

He sat up in bed, and instantly, a surge of energy coursed through his body like a river of furious lightning. His heart pounded with supernatural force. His muscles were tight, powerful—like a compressed spring ready to explode. He clenched his fists and felt his veins pulse with something... more.

"So this is what Viltrumite blood feels like..." he muttered, a faint smile forming on his lips, his eyes glowing red for a moment.

Arthur stepped out of bed and stretched. His bones cracked, but in a satisfying, almost pleasurable way. He felt every cell in his body vibrating in sync with a new power—not just Shadow's power, but also enhanced strength, speed, stamina, instincts... everything had been taken to a new level.

He walked to the mirror and looked at himself. His eyes had a sharp, dangerous glow. His hair was slightly spiked, as if the energy within him repelled it naturally. And then, out of nowhere, he laughed.

"Hahahaha... HAHAHAHAHA!"

It was loud, dark, and intense—like a true Uchiha discovering a new power. A mix of pride, madness, and pure ecstasy.

He ran a hand through his hair and took a deep breath.

"Calm down, Arthur... it's too early to lose your mind from all this power. You're still weak compared to the monsters in this world," he told himself, a smile forming on his face.

After calming down, he went downstairs for breakfast. His parents were in the kitchen, setting the table, while Clark was finishing getting dressed.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," Martha said with a smile.

"Slept great... I feel renewed," Arthur replied as he sat down.

While eating, he noticed every little detail. The slow movement of the spoon in his mother's hand. Clark's silly smile as he fixed his hair. The sound of coffee being poured. Everything seemed... slow. Way too slow.

His new power was so far beyond reality that the world around him felt like it was in slow motion.

After breakfast, his parents said:

"We're taking Clark into town. He needs new clothes."

"Perfect!" Arthur replied, smiling to himself. Home alone. Time to visit Missy.

As soon as his parents left with Clark, Arthur rushed to his room and activated the Shadow mode. The visual effect was electric—his body wrapped in a dark aura, with glowing red lines pulsing like demonic circuits. A whirlwind of energy spun around him for a few seconds, cracking the floor and sending dust flying across the room.

— Shadow Mode: Activated.

In the blink of an eye, Arthur was already flying across cities, mountains, and deserts—running at speeds that would make any airplane jealous. The air around him bent. His feet barely touched the ground. He was like a black comet streaking through the morning sky.

Minutes later, he was standing in front of the Cooper house again.

Arthur took a deep breath, brushed the dust off his clothes with a quick motion, and walked up to the door. He rang the bell.

Missy answered, wearing a light blue dress.

"Arthur?!" she said, surprised, smiling without meaning to.

"Missy. I came to visit. I told you I'd be back, remember?"

She nodded, a bit shy.

"Wanna go for a walk? I was thinking of doing something special today."

"Sure! But let me tell my family I'll be out for a while."

She stepped back inside, told her mom she was going to a friend's house, then returned outside and asked:

"Where are we going?"

"Have you ever been to Hawaii?"

Her eyes widened—surely it had to be a joke.

"Of course not..."

"Then today's your lucky day."

Before she could respond, he gently took her hand.

"Hold on tight."

Missy barely had time to ask, "What do you mean?" when a wave of black and red energy surrounded them. She felt like she was being pulled through an invisible wind tunnel—the world became a blur of colors, and the sound turned into a deep, distant hum.

Within minutes, they stood on a sunny beach, surrounded by palm trees, crystal-clear water, and warm ocean breeze.

"Welcome to Hawaii," Arthur said, spreading his arms with an anime hero grin.

Missy dropped to her knees in the sand, speechless.

"How did you...?"

"This is the fun part of having superpowers: you can do a lot of cool stuff," he said with a wink. "The real question is—did you like the surprise?"

She looked at him, stunned, emotional. For the first time, someone made her feel like she was the center of the universe.

"Thank you, Arthur."

"Anytime, Missy," he replied, smiling.

And there, with her feet in the sand and heart racing, Missy began to realize she might be feeling something new. Something beyond family love.
