Chapter 9: Moonlight Bath
Chapter 9: Moonlight Bath
“Ugh, Yake’s such a noisy brat! He’s already handling his… needs so early?”
In the dead of night, Aierjisi lay in bed, unable to sleep because she had napped far too long in the cave earlier. Adding to her woes, Yake, sprawled across the other bed, was making all sorts of annoying sounds like “Hmm hmmm haaa ahhh!” which only kept Aierjisi more awake. Being a former boy herself, Aierjisi knew exactly what Yake was up to—just some good ol’ hand action. Well, it’s only natural for a guy sharing a room with a beautiful girl like her to be, um, encouraged. But right now? She was wide awake! And with Yake making such a racket, she was getting increasingly frustrated.
“Ah… much better.”
On the other side, after releasing some of his pent-up energy, Yake wiped the sweat from his forehead. He didn’t want to make too much noise because Little Princess was sleeping nearby and he feared waking her. Hence, he had taken his sweet time. But now that he was done, he figured it was best to hit the hay soon since he needed to take the Little Princess out for a stroll in the city tomorrow.
“Yake, are you done?”
BANG BANG BANG!
Just as he was closing his eyes, ready to drift off into dreamland, he heard the Little Princess’s voice, causing him to feel slightly suffocated. Turns out, she hadn’t actually fallen asleep!
“Aier… you’re not asleep yet?”
Yake stiffly turned his head to look at the Little Princess on the other bed. She was staring right back at him.
“When you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you.”
“Yeah, I was actually awake. I took two naps back in the cave. Plus, I ate a ton tonight. Now I can’t sleep! And my servant is making all these noisy sounds while taking care of his needs, which is so annoying!”
“Ah, so you noticed?”
Yake’s face turned crimson with embarrassment. He thought he had been quite discreet about it. Who knew the Little Princess hadn’t been asleep at all?
“Of course! Didn’t I tell you? Our Blood Clan’s senses are way stronger than humans. What might be negligible to you sounds like a trumpet to me! If we want to, we can hear even the slightest sound—like a mosquito flapping its wings.”
“Then… I’m really sorry for disturbing your beauty sleep. I won’t make any more noise.”
Looks like from now on, if he wanted to satisfy his needs, he’d have to wait until the Little Princess truly fell asleep.
“Even if you don’t make noise, I still can’t sleep. I napped too long in the cave; I just can’t do it now. Ugh, what torture.”
Not wanting to lay there any longer, Aierjisi sat up, slipped on her slippers, and decided to head out.
“Aier, what are you doing? It’s the middle of the night!”
Yake jumped out of bed immediately. What could the Little Princess possibly want at this hour?
“I’m just going to the restroom and then step outside to enjoy the view for a bit. Maybe I’ll get sleepy and can come back to sleep. I won’t leave the inn; you just sleep.”
With that, Aierjisi left the room and headed to the observation deck designed for guests to enjoy the scenery.
“Even if I’ve come to a game world, life here isn’t that exciting.”
Looking at the view outside, Aierjisi began to miss her life back on Earth. Back then, she’d fantasized about being transported to a world of swords and magic like a typical delusional person. But now that she was really here, she realized this world wasn’t suited for someone like her. If she couldn’t sleep on Earth, she could just lay in bed scrolling through TikTok or playing games until she felt tired. Now? All she could do was enjoy the scenery.
“Sigh, traveling isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, huh.”
Life was tough, and the Little Princess sighed.
But to be fair, the moon looked gorgeous here. Especially now, without anyone to disturb her, it felt like the moon belonged only to her. Having been immersed in a technological lifestyle, returning to nature like this occasionally reminded her that there were plenty of joys in life.
“Yake should be asleep by now; it’s time to head back for a moonlight bath.”
Returning to her and Yake’s room, Aierjisi drew the curtains to let the moonlight flood in. Then she shed her bathrobe, allowing the moonlight to bathe her body. This was one of the buffs of the Moon Camp; during nights with a moon, the Blood Clan could use the moonlight to restore their magic power and energy.
“Ha… so this is what a moonlight bath feels like? It really is quite pleasant.”
This was Aierjisi’s first moonlight bath; during her time in the palace, she had never needed to recharge her energy or magic, so she never bothered with it.
However, what Aierjisi didn’t know was that Yake wasn’t asleep either. He was lying in bed with his eyes half-closed, stealthily watching the Little Princess, who was in the middle of getting undressed.
“What on earth is she doing? She’s stripped down to nothing and pulled the curtains wide open! Is she not afraid of being seen? Damn, I wanna take another look!”
Yake secretly wished he could take a second glance at the Little Princess’s exposed figure but had to settle for just the view from behind.
“Mm?”
Suddenly, Aierjisi felt something and turned her head to look at Yake. He quickly shut his eyes, praying she wouldn’t discover that he was still wide awake.
“Yake. You haven’t actually fallen asleep, have you? You’ve been staring at me, haven’t you?”
Seeing Yake lying completely still, the Little Princess walked over to his bedside, confronting him.
…
Yake maintained his calm breathing, refusing to answer her.
“Wow, you’re really convincing, huh? If I hadn’t caught you staring, I might have believed you were asleep.”
Aierjisi leaned down and playfully licked Yake’s face.
“Ew!”
Caught off guard by this unexpected move from the Little Princess, Yake jumped out of bed in a panic.
“Hmph! You really aren’t asleep, are you? You definitely saw me just now, right?”
Pulling her tongue back, Aierjisi looked at Yake with a face full of disgust. Did he not bother to shave? Her tongue had brushed against his stubble, and it felt weird.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to see anything! Please forgive me!”
Yake quickly fell back onto the bed, begging for mercy. He certainly didn’t want to face the wrath of the Little Princess!
