Chapter 8: This Egg Tart Is Not Bad
Chapter 8: This Egg Tart Is Not Bad
“Ah, the hot spring is so relaxing!”
I never imagined my first experience in a hot spring would be in this game world. It’s hard to say whether that’s sad or happy.
“Hey, Aier, have you soaked enough? We should be getting ready to head out soon.”
On the other side, Yake felt it was about time to leave the hot spring. Staying too long might not be good for the body. He called out to Aier, who was still enjoying her soak.
“Already? I feel like I just got in! This hot spring is really nice; I want to stay a bit longer.”
Aierjisi was nowhere near done enjoying her soak. She just wasn’t ready to leave, as her body hadn’t fully absorbed the benefits of the hot spring yet.
“It’s getting late. If you don’t want to eat the hot spring dinner served by the inn, I don’t mind if you want to stay.”
“Hot spring dinner? Is there such a thing? I’ll be right out. Yake, just wait for me a sec!”
Upon hearing about the hot spring dinner, the Little Princess jumped up from the water and dashed out, quickly changing back into her robe and returning to the hallway, where Yake had been waiting for her.
“Sorry for the wait!”
“No problem. Now let’s go eat dinner and then we’ll rest up in our room. Tomorrow we can explore Bield City together. I’m sure you’re curious about all the stuff here.”
“Uh-huh!”
Aierjisi nodded vigorously. She was bursting with curiosity about this new city, especially since Bield was a place that only existed in games.
“Dear guest, your hot spring dinner is ready. Enjoy your meal.”
Following the inn’s waiter, they arrived at the dining area meant for serving food to guests. A lavish dinner awaited, featuring everything from high-end steaks that only nobles could afford to common buns found on the streets, catering to various tastes.
“Looks pretty good! Hot spring dinner… it’s like a buffet!”
As they scanned the bustling dining room, the Little Princess and Yake found a small table for two.
“What’s a buffet?”
“Huh? You don’t know? It’s like this—after paying, guests can freely grab food from what the restaurant offers to fill their bellies. However, they must ensure they eat everything they take to prevent waste.”
Noticing that Yake didn’t know about the buffet concept, Aierjisi was surprised. It seemed that the game didn’t feature this dining style, even though it was basically the same as a buffet.
“Is that so? Is that a culture of your Blood Clan? I think it’s great! You get to enjoy tasty dishes you wouldn’t normally have while avoiding food waste. That’s very nice culture.”
“Now’s not the time to marvel at culture! Hurry up and grab some food! I’m starving—remember to bring me back a lot of meat!”
“Sure, but you can’t just eat meat! Don’t think being a Blood Clan makes you immune to health. You must eat your vegetables too, got it?”
At this point, Yake had turned into a father figure, lecturing the Little Princess about nutrition. After spending some time with her, he knew she had a particular fondness for meat and almost never touched vegetables. He even suspected that despite being 1100 years old, her flat chest was due to earlier malnutrition!
“Hmph! How dare a mere servant lecture his master? Fine, I’ll try to eat my veggies, but the ones I don’t like? You can kill me and I still won’t eat them.”
“Don’t worry; I’ll pick the ones you like. I’m off now, so you wait here and don’t run around!”
“Got it, sheesh! Are you my dad or something? Always lecturing me—so annoying!”
With a roll of her eyes, Aierjisi shooed Yake away, then swung her legs as she sat back, gazing out at the scenery. The night view of Bield City was stunning, with its brightly lit streets giving life to the city. The sounds of merchants and passersby added a touch of vibrancy. If she hadn’t just soaked in the hot spring, she would have insisted on dragging Yake out to explore the nightlife of the city together.
“Aier, I’m back! Look, I brought all the things you love!”
Yake returned to their table carrying two plates of food, each carefully chosen to be both delicious and nutritious. He was sure the Little Princess would love it.
“Uh-huh. Just set it down. Thanks!”
“What are you looking at? There’s nothing much to see outside, is there?”
Seeing her gaze fixed on the window, Yake turned to look outside. It was just an ordinary night market—what’s so special about it?
“In your eyes, it may not be much, but to me, this night market is incredibly beautiful!”
“Oh? Really? Ah, right, it’s your first time seeing a night market like this, huh? I get it; the night markets in small towns can’t compare. It’s like a country bumpkin’s first time in the big city—everything feels fresh and exciting.”
“Who are you calling a country bumpkin? Say that again!”
Hearing Yake compare her to a country bumpkin, Aierjisi instantly became unhappy. She had simply crossed from the real world into a game world, and here was this NPC mocking her as a hick—how infuriating!
“Ah? No, no! It was just a metaphor! Don’t be mad! Actually, when I first came to Bield, I was just as curious and liked wandering around like you.”
Yake hurriedly explained that he wasn’t insulting her. In reality, anyone visiting Bield for the first time would likely react just like the Little Princess.
“Hmph! Even if it’s just a metaphor, it’s still unacceptable! Comparing me to a hick is so degrading! I’ll let it slide this time, but don’t you dare use any derogatory terms when comparing me next time. Got it?”
With a pout, Aierjisi picked up an egg tart and began munching while scolding her servant. By the way, the egg tarts in this world tasted great, and she was beginning to love this sweet treat.
“Okay, okay! Thanks for letting me off the hook this time. I promise I won’t do it again!”
After expressing his gratitude, Yake started eating his pizza. They needed to get a good night’s sleep, especially since tomorrow they planned to shop for supplies in Bield!
