Husband, Spend Some Gold Coins

Chapter 70 - II

When the Old Master Qin walked past them, he glanced at Qin Yizhi, his eyes fell on Xie Qi and he turned his footsteps, walking toward their direction.

Xie Qi grabbed Qin Yizhi’s waist from behind, and Qin Yizhi’s hand went over, pulling it down and holding it in his palm.

Xie Qi looked down at their hands. Probably because Qin Yizhi’s palm was very warm and completely enveloped his hand, Xie Qi felt a sense of security.

But then he thought to himself that security should come from himself, not be drawn from other men.

So, he couldn’t be too timid and afraid.

Old Master Qin walked to the front of the two of them. As he approached Xie Qi, he noticed that Xie Qi was indeed very young. Considering his age, Xie Qi’s cheeks were smooth and flat, and his eyes sparkled, looking youthful and vibrant.

Xie Qi was no longer so nervous and stood straight and strong.

Old Master Qin narrowed his eyes and asked Qin Yizhi, “Is this the daughter-in-law you found?”

Qin Yizhi answered quietly.

In front of Grandpa Qin, his attitude was slightly more modest.

Grandpa Qin asked, “How old is he?”

Qin Yizhi replied, “Eighteen years old.”

Grandpa Qin said in a quiet tone, “Eighteen years old is good; in the past, I was also a father of two children at that age.”

Xie Qi lifted his eyes to look at him, a bit surprised by his friendly attitude.

Grandpa Qin reached out his hand and fumbled around in his pocket for a while but didn’t find anything. He eventually took off a jade-coloured ring from his hand, lifted Xie Qi’s hand, and placed the ring on his thumb. “This is a gift from Grandpa to meet you. Accept it.”

After saying that, Grandpa Qin let go of Xie Qi’s hand and turned to walk away.

Xie Qi said, “What?”

Xie Qi was confused. He had thought Grandpa Qin would be some kind of scourge, but this was it? This was it?

He looked down at the jade ring and felt that it was quite valuable, so he asked Qin Yizhi, “Can I really take it?”

Qin Yizhi withdrew his complicated gaze and said lightly, “Since it’s a gift from our grandfather, you can accept it.”

Xie Qi lowered his voice and said to Qin Yizhi, “What do you think? He seems quite nice to me.”

Qin Yizhi did not reply.

Seeing this scene, Qin Lingyun, probably anxious, approached the Old Master Qin and began talking to him, smiling. It turned out that the old man favoured lively and cheerful children who flattered him, and his eyes crinkled into a smile.

The old man’s eyes narrowed, and he also smiled. From the looks of it, he seemed to like Qin Lingyun more.

At this time, Qin Lingyun brought out a large order of things. Old Master Qin asked about the situation carefully, and Qin Lingyun was very satisfied, his eyes smiling with pleasure.

While teasing the old man, Qin Lingyun gave Qin Yizhi a look filled with clamour and sarcasm.

The woman who met Qin Yizhi in the corridor just now chimed in and said, “Brother, you also need to work harder, so as not to let Qin Lingyun take over the Qin family business. You’re the rightful heir.”

Qin Yizhi calmly replied, “I still make you worry about it.”

His face didn’t show much concern, which made the woman angry. She muttered away and started chatting with people from Qin Lingyun’s faction.

Xie Qi observed their boisterous interactions and noticed the contrast with Qin Yizhi’s side, which was cold and quiet. The people on Qin Yizhi’s side hardly spoke and looked very subdued. Xie Qi couldn’t help but ask, “Doesn’t it matter?”

Qin Yizhi remained calm, saying, “It doesn’t matter.”

However, Xie Qi felt uncomfortable and whispered, “You are obviously better than that Qin Lingyun.”

Qin Yizhi’s eyes moved slightly as he looked at Xie Qi with a downcast gaze, “Is that so?”

Xie Qi naturally responded, “Yes. Qin Lingyun looks very arrogant. He has to make a show to let everyone know his abilities, but you are not like that. You are silent and do great things quietly. You are calm and excellent, of course, better than Qin Lingyun.”

Qin Yizhi gazed at Xie Qi, and from the look on his face, he knew that Xie Qi truly was very sincere.

The corner of Qin Yizhi’s lips curved up slightly, and he said in a light tone, “Do you know me very well?”

Xie Qi paused and responded honestly, “Actually, I don’t know you that well.”

Qin Yizhi asked quietly, “If I said I killed my father, would you believe me?”

Xie Qi was stunned and immediately said, “I don’t believe it.”

Qin Yizhi asked, “Why?”

Xie Qi replied without hesitation, “Because I believe in you.”

Qin Yizhi’s eyes moved slightly, his voice growing softer, “Even if everyone says so, you still wouldn’t believe it?”

Xie Qi said, “Well, I trust my own judgment. You are not that kind of person.”

After being together for so long, how could he not understand what kind of person Qin Yizhi was? Although he always had a cold demeanour, his gentleness, meticulousness, and consideration were evident in all aspects. Even if sometimes he acted strangely, it was always with good intentions. If it were a stranger or someone he didn’t like, he would likely find them too annoying to bother with.

After sharing a bed together, didn’t this trust already exist?

Qin Yizhi laughed, and this time, his smile genuinely curved up at the corners of his lips. The cold sharpness in his eyebrows and eyes faded, replaced by a hint of melting tenderness. He said, “What is your judgment?”

Xie Qi replied, “Generous, rich and handsome people can’t be bad.”

Qin Yizhi responded, “…”

His smile tightened.
