Chapter 253: Chapter 250 - The Grindelwald Plan (6)
Asterion and Herpo raised their heads and saw a huge crystal, about three meters in diameter, floating in the sky, the magical aura that the crystal gave off made both of their hearts beat faster. It wasn't fear, but sheer awe at what was probably the most energetic object that mankind could muster.
"I had the opportunity to second a Sephirot, it was the size of a fingernail, but when it exploded, it would put the muggle weapons called Nuclear Bombs to shame." Herpo commented when he saw the crystal with a diameter of three meters.
Looking at Asterion, Herpo asked in a calm but dignified tone. "In your eyes, if this thing explodes, what will happen to the planet?"
Asterion pondered as the pentagrams spun at great speeds in his red eyes. After a full five minutes, the words that came from Asterion's lips made Herpo feel a chill run through his body.
"From the simulations, the explosion will be capable of destroying a continent, but the explosion is the least of the problems. What do you think will happen to all the living beings exposed to such an insane amount of magical energy on the planet's surface?"
Yes, Asterion wasn't worried about the explosion. Yes, it would be a devastating explosion that would generate tsunamis of catastrophic proportions, but the explosion would be much smaller than I expect because magical energy has air-like properties and dissolves quickly when it enters the planet, greatly reducing the explosion.
As previously mentioned, only humans and magical creatures could accumulate this extremely volatile energy in their bodies; anything else could not prevent the magical energy from dissolving when it came into contact with the planet.
After all, if the Sephirot was the size of a fingernail, it caused an explosion comparable to that of an atomic blast, a three-meter Sephirot could theoretically destroy the surface of the planet and in worse cases, the planet itself.
However, the explosion was the last thing Asterion wanted to worry about, he was more concerned about what would happen to the world with such a large amount of Magical Energy being released into the planet's atmosphere.
Mutations? Strengthening of the Wizards and anything magical? Perhaps the emergence of a new variation of humans and fauna on the planet?
Mutations were impossible to predict, it was the same as jumping into radioactive waste and expecting to gain superpowers. You'd probably develop cancer or glaucoma at best, death would be a pleasure you wouldn't have if you did something so stupid.
"Do you think anyone will try to stop Grindelwald? After all, not everyone is like us, daring enough to bet on the one-in-a-million chance." Herpo said, moving closer and closer to the highest mountain in the frozen environment. That's where Grindelwald's plan would take place.
"I just want to see who's going to be the idiot to try and stop the plan of a mad man like Grindelwald." Asterion commented with a curious tone. He and Herpo were mad in their own way, and both knew what the other could do if anyone stood in their way. A quick death was a privilege that their enemies wouldn't have.
Asterion and Herpo didn't speak and reached the top of the mountain after a short flight. When they stepped onto the marble floor, they saw throne-like chairs lined up side by side, forming a crescent.
The thrones were obviously for Special Grade Wizards, the Semi-Special Grade Wizards had seats in the stands, but none of these people complained or said anything against the current situation.
The reason was simple, there were 12 Special Grade Wizards and Witches sitting on the thrones, even if they had ten times the current courage, they wouldn't dare sit next to such powerful beings.
"Fourteen demigods, I must say that's quite a rare scene even in Ancient Greece, the Civilization of the Wizarding World at the time." Herpo spoke in an admiring tone, feeling more and more excited to witness history or its destruction. Both were interesting alternatives in his eyes.
Asterion said nothing and sat on the thirteenth throne, feeling countless pairs of eyes falling on him, but he ignored the ants in the stands and focused on the twelve Special Grade beings next to him.
He said beings, because three of those Special Grade beings weren't human, which was no surprise, there was nothing to stop a race from having a Special Grade, only humans who numbered in the billions had more than thirty Special Grade Wizards and Witches.
Other races didn't even come close to such a massive number of Special Grade Wizards.
Asterion discovered that the three beings were famous in the Wizarding World.
Count Dracula, a handsome man in his forties with long blond hair and a perfectly groomed beard around his face. He dressed nobly in a medieval black suit with gold details.
He was a Vampire, a Special Grade Vampire.
William Corvinus, a tall, burly man, he dressed like an 11th century Nord, in dark, tough leather. His hair looked disheveled and unkempt, he had no beard and looked like a big, tall drunk.
He was the Werewolf, a Special Grade Werewolf.
The third and last was a small, ugly being, dressed like a king and with a crown over his black hair. He had small eyes and pointed ears, and his large nose and wrinkled face were enough to give any child nightmares for nights on end.
He was a Goblin, a Special Grade Goblin.
This was the King of the Goblin Nation, Ranrok VIII.
Looking at Ranrok, Asterion showed a vague hostility towards the magical creature that so many wizards and witches despise, he still hadn't forgotten that one of his Goblin had leaked the information about his Slytherin lineage to the world.
As Asterion didn't hide his malice, Ranrok VIII turned and faced Asterion with a wise and cunning look. He didn't look like someone who could be easily manipulated or even tricked.
Showing an ugly and simply terrifying smile, Ranrok raised his wine glass towards Asterion, greeting the Special Grade young man courteously and politely.
Asterion stared at him coldly, but still raised the goblet next to his throne towards the Goblin King and paid no further attention to the magical creature. If there was one thing that was said in the wizarding world, it was that you couldn't trust a goblin, a Dementor would be more reliable than these nefarious and greedy creatures.
Paying no more attention to anyone, Asterion looked at the Sephirot above them, the crystal was colorless and inside it could be seen strands of energies of different colors swimming like fish inside the crystal. It was very beautiful, but it contained a terrible danger capable of causing incalculable damage.
Despite the danger, Asterion almost couldn't suppress the greed inside him; it wasn't just him, Herpo was just as greedy. Although he didn't know the method of sublimating the Innate Technique, based on what he knew about magical energy, a large amount of magical energy could probably cause sublimation.
But Asterion wouldn't risk his life on something so crazy, he knew that if his body couldn't handle that colossal amount of magical energy, his body would simply explode like a balloon full of water. So even if he wanted the Sephirot, he had no use for the object.
Suddenly, Tinker Bell, between Asterion's hair spoke up, looking curiously at her surroundings. "Asty, there are many strong beings, the strongest have auras similar to the Four Matriarchs of the Four Seasons."
It was the first time in her life that she had seen so many different and extremely powerful beings, it left her shocked and at the same time, she yearned even more for the world outside the barrier.
She wanted to be the first fairy to leave the magical continent of Avalon to explore the world!
Looking at Asterion, Tink knew that he would help her as her friend, after all, as he himself said, friends help each other.
Asterion didn't know what the innocent little fairy was thinking, he forgot her question and focused entirely on the elderly man wearing a simple suit, walking slowly with a cane.
His silver eyes swept the entire audience for a moment, before focusing entirely on him.
Asterion could feel Grindelwald's gaze on him, the man exuded a cheerful, jovial aura. It seemed that with his plan about to be realized, he was more than happy.
Grindelwald nodded to Asterion and cleared his throat as he looked at everyone present. "Brothers and sisters, today we are gathered to celebrate a day I have long hoped to see."
"A pure world!!!"
